It's okay, I was thinking after each project is done we can do another group one that's different, to both broaden our horizons and include those who can't do certain things. smile
I need to know who can easily get their hands on Red Heart Supersaver as that's the one I am planning on using. Equivalent gauge acrylic works just as well, I just need to know who can get their hands on this yarn or something similar so I know if I can start swatching for a pattern. Either post here or pm me your repsonse, also if there are any last minute joiners let me know now, otherwise I'm figuring on five people. And also, are you going to join in Bast Night? If you are I need to know so I know how many people are going to be making how many squares.

I Sent a text to Bast to see if she still wants to do this. We have lots of access to Red Heart Super Saver, as a matter of fact we both have lots in our stashes. I have all kinds of bright colors and black and Bast has LOTS of White Black and Red. She is at work now, hopefully you will hear from her by the end of the day.

I did hear from her, she says she's in. heart Coolness. I actually have no spare red heart on hand at the moment as 90% of my crafting stuff went into storage with the move (boo! *sadness*) so I'll start working on dimensions when I get paid next, which is on the first. *kicks things* Stupid stash being in storage...

I was able to dig up some red heart and needles, so I'm swatching now, hurray! I figure if six of us do this thing, we can make a blanket sixty inches by seventy inches and we only have to do 28 squares apiece as long as they're five by five inch squares. Also, I was thinking of doing basic garter stitch squares and arranging them into groups of four in a pinwheel pattern. Sound good to people?
Edit: If that many is too daunting, we can all do seven 10x10 squares instead of little ones sewn into pinwheels which would then be sewn together. I don't mind taking on big projects, but then realized not everyone here would feel the same. sweatdrop So post here and tell me what you would like to make. Once we decide I'll post a thread with the pattern. ^_^

Is this still a go??? I am trying to get my fall and winter projects started, and I am still very interested in doing this.
If all we are doing is garter stitch, the smaller squares would make a more interesting pattern, like a fabric quilt. What happened to that pattern that looked like a corner?
What size needle and how many stitches do we start off with to try and get the gauge? If we don't gauge up the same, you will probably want different sized needles to keep the stitch count the same, yes?
Am still excited about this, I love the idea

I still want to do it. If you want to start swatching, I got 15 sts over 4 inches using size eight needles and red heart. If you don't get the right gauge go up or down a size until you do. The rest of the pattern I'll post once I hear from everyone else.
Edit: Decided against the mitered one because I was worried it might be too hard for some of those participating

Awesome. I got the pattern all written up, so once I hear from everyone I'll post it with the number people have to make.
