Episode Summary:Melinda is haunted by a mysterious ghost who was the victim of a car accident and refuses to show his face. When the ghost finally reveals himself to Melinda, she is shocked to find it is the spirit of her first love, Kyle, who broke her heart. Kyle regrets ever hurting Melinda and refuses to cross over so he can stay with her. Before Kyle interferes too much in Melinda’s marriage, Melinda must find a way to make Kyle understand how solid her marriage is to Jim.

Episode Summary: Melinda and Jim befriend a new couple in town whose house is haunted by a six-year-old girl who drowned in the pool at the couple’s new home. As Melinda uncovers why the little girl drowned, she meets the girl’s older brother who blames himself for what happened that day and for his father abandoning his family and starting a new one as a result. Before Melinda can get the little girl to cross over, Melinda must find a way to bring the divorced parents back together to say goodbye to their daughter and bring to light what really happened that tragic day.

Episode Title:The Ghost Within

Episode Summary: When Melinda comes across a box of handmade ornaments at a flea market, she encounters a ghost who doesn’t appear to hear or see her, leaving Melinda confused by his behavior. By picking up the ornaments Melinda is transported to images in the ghost’s mind, and through these images Melinda comes understand the ghost is autistic and this is his way of communicating with her. Before the ghost can crossover Melinda needs to help his girlfriend, who is also autistic and left alone following his death, get the care she needs by reuniting her with her estranged mother who hasn’t seen her daughter since she put her in an institution years ago.

Episode Title: A Grave Matter

Episode Summary: While visiting Andrea’s grave, Melinda encounters a confused ghost who is in the wrong grave and troubled by a widow who grieves at his grave, thinking it is her husband’s grave. After helping the ghost remember his identity, Melinda is surprised to learn the ghost abandoned his wife and daughter, which hits close to home with Melinda since her father abandoned their family. Despite the challenge of setting aside her personal issues, Melinda faces a bigger challenge when she learns the grieving widow’s husband is still alive and he stole the ghost’s identity following his death in order to escape troubles in his life.

Episode Title: The Woman of His Dreams

Episode Summary: When Melinda goes out of town to see her mother, Jim is haunted in his dreams by the ghost of a beautiful woman. With Melinda away, Jim works with Professor Payne to find the meaning behind strange symbols he sees and ultimately pieces together that the woman from his dreams is a cosmetics spokes model who he later recognizes as a shy girl he went to high school with. While the girl blossomed into a beautiful model, she suffered in life from deep insecurities about her appearance and in fact died from complications following cosmetic surgery. With the ghost’s younger sister about to head down the same path, Melinda and Jim have to work together to help the ghost so she can cross over.

Episode Title: A Vicious Cycle

Episode Summary: While camping with Jim, Melinda encounters a ghost who froze to death twenty years ago in the woods and can’t cross over until knows her daughter is okay. However, her daughter doesn’t want to hear about her mother who, according to her father, abandoned them. In a fit of rage, the ghost attacks her daughter’s fiancée for seemingly no reason, but later Melinda learns the truth; the mother was a victim of spousal abuse and was running away with her young daughter when they got caught in a storm and she died shielding her daughter. The mother recognizes her daughter is going down the same path with her abusive fiancée and with Melinda’s help she needs to break the cycle of abuse.

The father’s ghost is the deceased frontman of his son’s band who was always threatened by his band mate’s talent and isn’t about to let the father help his son recognize his potential now and play the hit music he never got to play.

Episode Title: Cat's Claw

Episode Summary: When her bedroom is turned in to a sweltering jungle, Melinda experiences an out of body experience, taking her deep in to the forest where she finds a dead body wearing a tribal mask. Not sure what the experience means, she once again turns to Professor Payne to help her figure it out, and is surprised to see a figurine wearing the same mask she saw in her dream on his shelf. When asked, he tells her that it was a gift from a colleague at the university who'd been trying to find new medical uses for rare jungle plants. Sadly, the colleague had died on an expedition to the Amazon. Melinda then discovers his partner and lover had made it back, but blames herself for his death. The dead man needs Melinda to convince his partner to not blame herself for what happened before he can cross over. Meanwhile, Payne has become so perplexed by Melinda’s questions and interest in his field that he demands answers. Melinda finally confesses that she can see the dead.

Episode Title: Dead to Rights(a.k.a Dead Reckoning)

Episode Summary: When Melinda experiences visions of herself in morbid and constricting situations she knows that a spirit has attached itself to her, but she can’t seem to communicate with it. After racking her brain for days trying to figure out who the spirit is, Melinda discovers that a man in a coma is being kept alive at a local hospital, with no chance of recovery. While doing charity work with Delia at the hospital, Melinda encounters the spirit, who explains that he needs to be taken off life support so he can cross over, but that his mother can’t seem to let go. Complicating matters, his family is extremely wealthy and suspect that his new wife, who supports pulling the plug, wants him dead to inherit his fortune. The spirit charges Melinda with convincing his family that they need to let him die and that they need to accept his wife as the loving person she is.

Episode 13
Episode Title: Deja Boo

Episode Summary: When Melinda’s expectant dinner guest, Holly, experiences pregnancy problems, Melinda encounters a ghost who seems to be attached to Holly. In a later encounter, the ghost, Eric, seems to have different personalities and takes different names, and Melinda struggles to draw a conclusion about why this seemingly schizophrenic ghost has attached himself to Holly. Stranger still, she learns that Eric had tried to cross over but the light rejected him. With some help from Payne, Melinda deduces that Eric has been reincarnated as he still has some earthly lessons to learn and it appears that Holly’s baby will be his next reincarnation. But when Holly gives birth Eric remains and Melinda discovers that she may be pregnant, meaning Eric had been attached to her the whole time. But when Eric learns a final lesson about generosity and selflessness the light finally accepts him, and we learn that Melinda is not pregnant.

Episode Summary: Melinda's Jeep breaks down on a deserted road and a young woman who owns an auto shop comes by to help. Melinda meets a ghost who comes to her in the form of a skeleton. Melinda must first decipher the mysterious code that is linked to a drag racing society called the Midnight Circle. Melinda finds that Ned is involved with the society and needs her help. Ned lies to his mom and sneaks out to go to the drag races.
