History: Firdaws does not remember his life before the Brotherhood. He was stolen long ago by Loki, and was raised to be loyal to Danel. He absorbed his training easily and grew in rank, eventually earning himself the position of Huntmaster when he was still rather young. He's an older, wiser wolf now and has seen many new recruits pass through the pack, but he's far from retirement yet.

As the pack began to fall apart around him -- first with the banishment of the traitor (Firdaws was one of many who had cried for mercy against Rotiart's sins, and has regretted the decision since...although not as much as some of the others) and then with the subsequent disappearance of both Danel and Rummy (whom Firdaws liked just fine and still misses from time to time) -- Firdaws fell back on doing what he does best: hunting, training his brothers, and cracking inappropriate jokes to keep the morale up. He would willingly die for any of his Brothers, and his love of the pack is unwavering.

Firdaws does have one weakness: a certain unhealthy infatuation with females. In a way, it's lucky that he was taken in by the Brotherhood, as this personality trait runs deeper than the pack's indoctrination; in the Shadowclan, he is perhaps less of a monster than he could have been outside it. Unlike Rotiart (and certain other members of the pack to whom Firdaws turns a politely blind eye) Firdaws has no carnal desire for females....at least not that he has explored. He does, however, get a sort of perverse pleasure from hunting them. Their weakness...their vulnerability...appeals to him, and he has nearly fetishized the hunt into some sort of very dangerous and very twisted game.

Firdaws's unwholesome hunger was his downfall. One female he hunted turned out to be a match for him, and she grievously wounded him. He recovered, but suffered a long fever that caused hallucinations of a sort of religious fervor. He is somewhat more serious, and even more devoted to his pack, which he believes is part of a great universal plan.

Also, his appetite is as monstrous as ever...but his injuries have left him impotent and frustrated, cementing his hatred of females entirely.

Personality: It's little wonder so many of the hunters in the pack have easy-going personalities, having grown up under the tutelage of Firdaws. Pleasant and easy-going, it's difficult to really get under his skin. He has the kind of confidence that's not threatened by self-deprecating humor, and he tends more often than not to make jokes at his own expense, often at inappropriate times. Those who don't know him may have a hard time realizing that he's joking at all, as he has a very stern, serious voice -- a low, silky growl that rumbles in his chest.

Name: Roshan
Meaning: Persian; "shining light"

Pack: None (possibly Realm of Light)

History: Roshan was captured on a raid by Kapu'Moana when he was quite young. Stolen from his home due to his bright coloration, he was always treated rather well -- for a slave -- and never had any major complaints about his life. Eventually he met a female of similar rank and fell in love with her, and together they shared as good of a life as any slaves ever had.

It was doomed not to last.

Roshan's mate, Oksana, was chosen by the King as a favored harem-member. Roshan could have forgiven this, except that Oksana was not only the King's personal slave...she also began to fall in love with him. Bitter and enraged, but completely unable to do anything about his position, he tried his best to bury his misery. He began to wander out at odd hours, sneaking to the border, too frightened to run away but always flirting with the idea.

One night, a mysterious, dark-colored female approached him in the dark. She asked him all the right questions, and he opened up to her -- slowly at first, but soon enough all of his misery was pouring out of him. He told her how the alpha had stolen his mate...how he and so many others had been stolen away from their homes...how wolves were kept as slaves, their fates determined purely by birth...how some members were offered as sacrifices...how inbreeding was rampant and the king gave females no choice in joining his harem. He had never realized until it was all teased out of him just how bad his pack really was.

But he never intended for her to kill them all.

How should he have known that the wolf he spoke to was none other than Poine, the lady of vengeance? How should he have known that his tale of woe was the first step to a heartless slaughter? And how was he supposed to know that, perversely, he would survive the onslaught -- forced to watch the murder of dozens of wolves he had once considered friends?

When the long-absent prince Kailani and the scout-slave Kamiya returned unannounced, they came upon Roshan, and he was overcome with guilt. He was never able to admit to what he had done, and now carries this terrible, massive secret with him.

Personality: If he were not weighted down with the pain and guilt of what he had done, and bitterness over the loss of his mate, Roshan would be the sunniest wolf in the world. Most of the time, he manages to keep up a high morale: always the wolf speaking words of encouragement, always the one making friends. Sometimes, though, he falls into deep moods of brooding misery, and almost nothing can get him out of them until they've run their course. He has a deep love of pups and tends to seek out company as much as possible, as being alone makes him feel especially prone to depression. He prefers acquaintances to friends, however, and will tend to push others away when they get too close.

Distinguishing marks: Dark green fur; smoky pale green tendrils along legs, haunch, and face. Silver eyes
Pack: Antianeira

History: One of the pups born of the illicit union between Rorret and Azalea, Dahlia has only the vaguest memories of her missing brother. As no one has ever spoken of him since, she decided she must have misremembered and gives it very little thought. She was brought into the Antianeira pack and raised among the warriors, used along with her sisters as pawns in a power struggle between her mother and her grandmother Thealia.

Personality: Dahlia loves being the center of attention, and she isn't sure how she gets there. A born extrovert, she thrives on being around others. She's competitive and smart, and her thirst for attention leads her to excel in anything she puts her mind to.

There is a wicked streak in this wolf, however. She enjoys toying with affections and isn't above being cruel to others, especially if it will get her more attention. While she loves the energy of a crowd and likes to keep a wide circle of friends, she trusts very few wolves and ultimately only cares for herself.

Pack: Acropolis

History: The younger son and middle child of the alpha's pups, Abraxas was born without fanfare and set about his goal of living in the shadows of his siblings. It's so much easier to get away with things when you're not in the spotlight.

Personality: His mother's hot temper, his father's pride, and a healthy dose of mischief from his "aunt" Heyoka has made Abraxas more than a little bit of a handful. Intensely protective of those he cares for, Abraxas isn't really evil...but he sure likes to pretend he is, sometimes. In truth, he's just a master at playing devil's advocate, and has a penchant for asking hard questions. He relishes making people uncomfortable, and he believes that pushing the envelope of morality and good behavior helps to shape exactly what those things really mean.
