Stretching in a relaxed manner, Akemi smiled at Rosie once more. She tried her best not to dwell on the past. "Journeying is great. Beats school any time, and you can still complete classes online on the way", she said with a grin. Technology sure made life easy, and a pokémon journey always gave a child certain privileges, such as teachers letting them pass courses easier.
Fushigi nodded. "I lost my previous Trainer, and I had to witness the sorrow my current one faced when her parents died", it said with a rather serious look, casting its eyes towards Akemi.

"oh, well I still have to go to school, the classes I'm in are pretty particular" she said nodding "This week we're supposed to go out and learn about Water Type pokemon, and write a report about them at the end. next week we're learning about berries, and how they help your pokemon."
she pat Vany'n fondly "I'm in a private school so its a little tough, but I'm learning a lot, and all my class mates are really nice, we have a good time"
nibbling on the cone of her treat as she finished off most of the ice cream, she smiled "are you still doing school to?"
Vahy'n didn't look away, it was clear she wasn't attempting to show any of her emotions after that comment. only a slight nod, and bow of her head.

"A private school? Wow. I only went to public ones - those work a little differently, I suppose. And no, I graduated from high school a while back, and didn't bother trying for university", she said. "Berries are a lot of fun. I always carry a whole bunch, party because I love cooking Poffins and blending Pokéblocks", the girl went on, obviously starting to get excited once again. "I also have some Berry Pots to grow them wherever I go.. Surely you know how pokémon of certain natures like specific flavors?"
Fushigi turned back to Vahy'n. "It's alright. I hardly have any memories of that time, and the girl's trying her best to let go of the past too. After all, you can't change it.. so it's better not to regret."

Rosie listened to what Akemi was talking about with interest. her blue eyes wide.
shaking her head at the last question, biting off one of the cone with a crunch and chewing it softly "no, we're still going to learn that." she said "what are natures?" she asked. clearly she was very new to pokemon.
she added with a soft nod.

Akemi grinned. "Ah, okay. Well, I can help you out then, I suppose!" she said, hoping that Rosie would remember in class. "So, natures are basically pokémon's personalities. When you view your party's information through your Pokédex, their personality is summarized by a single word - there are 25 different ones", she began to explain, waving her hands a little as she spoke. She probably should have become a breeder instead of a Team Rocket member, but it was kind of late now.. and of course she could still try breeding as a side job.
"20 of these natures have a specific flavor preference, and then there are five that will gladly eat any kind of Berry. Take my Fushigi here, for example.." she patted the Ivysaur's head slightly, "She has a Mild nature, so she likes Dry tasting Berries the best. Like Chesto, for one. Usually a Berry's color is pretty close to what its taste is. Oh, and Fushigi also dislikes Sour ones."
The Ivysaur couldn't help but change the subject at this point. "Seems like they're getting along pretty well.. which is good. My Akemi never really had friends", it said.

Rosie listened with interest, it was clear she was enjoying the topic since her eyes grew steadily larger the longer Akemi explained.
Once she was done, Rosie reached in her bag again to pull out her pokedex.
shifting through it she looked at Vahy'n's stats.
"Is this is? it says Quiet" she read, looking over at Akemi once more "is that good?"
a soft smile formed over her lips, tilting her head and looking over to the two girls.

The older girl nodded. "Yep, that's it. If she's Quiet, she likes Dry food too, but dislikes Sweet", she said. "Their nature also affects how they grow when trained. Pokémon that like Dry food develop great Special Attack with time, and that way those natures are good for those pokémon that don't use physical attacks much, such as Psychic types.. It's good for Water and Grass too, as well as Fire and Electric", she carried on. "Of course, each type does have physical attacks too, so pokémon with all kinds of natures can still wield strong attacks of their own type.. but it's always good to check first. Natures and flavor preferences also affect Contests!" Akemi finally added, since she guessed that Rosie would be into pokémon Contests.
Fushigi smiled, looking over at the two girls as well. "Yeah, it'll probably do them both good, though there are some things we'll have to keep hidden from you.. I can't say more than that. Akemi is as genuine as she's allowed to be.."

WOW, there was sure a lot to learn about natures. she had no idea what pokemon could get that complicated. but it was really neat.
"Wow you really know a lot about pokemon, I bet you're a wonderful trainer. I can't wait to learn more about Natures and what foods Vahy'n would like."
She wiggled a little where she sat, clearly excited.
tilting her head and glancing to the side at Akemi "Contests?" she asked, sounding curious.
this drew a pause from Vahy'n she said after going over what was said to her, she sounded hesitant though

Akemi chuckled then. She was glad she could be of some use to Rosie, since she wouldn't be able to be around to help the girl much. "Eh, you tend to pick up plenty of information along the way.." she said bashfully.
"And yeah, Contests are really popular in the Hoenn and Sinnoh regions, I bet you would like them. There are five categories, Beauty, Smart, Tough, Cool and Cute", she started explaining. "Your Pokédex has the Contest descriptions for all your pokémon's moves too, you see.." she paused as she opened her own Dex, having camouflaged it with removable stickers so no one could tell it was a Team Rocket one. She opened Fushigi's moveset information and switched to the Contest information page. "See here? Fushigi's moveset isn't that great since I haven't specialized in any category - I'm more into battling. Contest-goers have to pick moves pretty carefully.." The girl browsed through the descriptions so that Rosie could see them. "Since Vahy'n likes Dry Food, she would do great in Beauty Contests. Feeding her Dry Pokéblocks or Poffins would also raise her Beauty, making her more appealing to the judges." She knew she was talking fast, and hoped everything so far made sense to Rosie.
Fushigi shook its head lightly again. "It's for both yours, and our, safety that we have to keep our secret. We would most likely pay with our lives as well as place you in danger if something happened."

It was clear that Rosie was very excited about this, once again referring to her own pokedex to see what category Vahy'n moves belonged in.
Her face brightened, sitting up with an excited squee and showing Akemi her pokedex "look look! Vahy'n has a lot of beauty moves!"
maybe her mom did that on purpose, Vahy'n has always been so beautiful.
"so feeding her dry treats like the poffins will help make Vahy'n more beautiful? do you think they do contests here?" she asked with a slight tilt of her head.
This was definitely something she wanted to look into and learn more about.
Vahy'n didn't comment at first, yellow eyes peering at Fushigi as she bowed her head slightly, clearly looking a little uneasy about this.
but with a soft nod, Vahy'n glanced back over to the girls

The pale girl smiled. "You should be off to a good start since she has those. And yes, you can tell Dry treats by a blue colour", she said with a nod. "I'm not sure if there are Contests here in Kodo, but once you have time off school or something you could visit Hoenn, maybe.. the Contests there are a little more simple than in Sinnoh."
Akemi had never attended a Contest herself - they weren't really her thing - but she had learned quite a bit about them. A lot of her former classmates had chosen to become Coordinators rather than Trainers, and even though she hadn't been that close to anyone she overheard many conversations, as well as read magazines. In her opinion they depended a bit too much on appearances though, which she didn't like too much. They were fun to watch in any case.
Fushigi nodded at Vahy'n, gently nudging Akemi's leg with its head. "We all want to protect those important to us, don't we?"

"Thank you for the advice" Rosie said graciously, looking back down at her pokedex, playing with the settings before she smiled and turned it off, slipping it back into her bag.
"someday I definitely will"
nibbling on the cone again he gave a firm nod. then held some of it down for Vahy'n to take.
The Vaporeon watched Fushigi for a moment, before the cone was held down to her.
looking to Rosie before taking a small bite herself.
"Va, Vaporeon"
the pokemon called up to her trainer.
Rosie blinked and tilted her head. "I was going to go down to the beach, I'm supposed to be studying water types this week"
finishing off her cone happily, Rosie hopped to her feet.
