I have this one book, was written during WW2 as a protest. Beneath Another Sun by Ernst Lothar. It's one of my more prized possessions especially considering its age. But yeah, sorry for the bragging, now to get to the point - this version's primarily English but it has a good amount of German, Italian, French and Czech in there. I was kinda surprised. oO

Hey, do you speak czech? I'm like half and i really want to learn the language!

Well, I'm not fluent in Czech but I could see what I can do.

Thanks a lot. Its rare to find anyone that knows any of it. Could you like pm me some basics?

I like to read comic books in their original language, not just Japanese, but some German ones too. I am not advanced enough to read a novel, so I find comic books to be a good way to expand my skills (just like a little kid first learning to read, I can use picture clues!).

I also have the original version of Grimms Maerchen in German, which is so much better than our common fairy tails.

I read some German poetry and a little no Haiku, but that's about it.

I live in Sweden but have been reading English books frequently since I was 11 or 12 (whichever year it was when Harry Potter 3 came in English but still wasn't translated to Swedish rolleyes ) I've been thinking about trying out German books too. My German class ends this summer and after that I'll have to study for myself or take part of another course.

I always read in English. But if I find something written in French I will look through it.

Ooh it's so funny whee We just started reading Pride and Prejudice in my Swedish class, but they had problem getting hold of books so some of us got the book in it's original language (i.e. English). It's from the 17th century so... well, the English is sooo odd whee I walked around at home, quoting the book being all hyper yesterday. Family thought me crazy rolleyes

Two years ago the United nations released a list of Living literary treasures.

The only Australian on the list was a guy who only writes in Esperanto. Trevor Steele.

Just out of curiosity, when you where quoting P&P
were you doing the whole walking in character thing too?

OMG, I've finally finished Et si c'etait vrai >< it took me a long time to read because I was busy with my math exam and other stuff sad

Anyway, it was a very good book ^_^ the ending could have been a bit longer and more emotional, but ok. rolleyes

I read more in English than in Chinese because it's easier to get English books in Sydney. I read mostly non-fiction though.

I like reading the Wikipedia in English, Chinese, Japanese, and French. I even translate English articles for the Chinese one.

I tried reading some other French sites too, not that many of them though. (Do lyrics sites count? xd )

Is it a picture book? I remember our grade 5 teacher reading us a book called "Papillion", but I don't remember the author's name. >.<

It's an excerpt from an autobiography about a Frenchman who was accused of murder and was sent to an island near Venezuela in solitary confinement...we read it for our Non-fiction Unit in English class. 3nodding

I thought it was pretty interesting.
