EdwardElric0130 I have a suggestion.. But I don't think you guys may find it appealing though sweatdrop I just thought of this randomly...
You guys said there should only be one character per rp, right?? Well wouldn't it be more entertaining to have more of them? I mean for example 2 Mustang's, 4 Ed's, etc... You could say they're twins or they're from another dimension or something. Just put your sense of creativeness to the test. That way other members wouldn't feel bad if the character/s they want to play as is already taken.
What do you think? O____o

I don't think I'll be RPing here, sadly. D: It seems like it's all revolved around alchemists/Chimera/ and Homunculi
My FMA OC isn't any of them. xD;
She's close to the Gate though. Maybe I could tie her in somehow. Unno.
Prolly won't though. xD

My OC is German- She went through the gate when she was younger, and came out in Amestris years later. She's closely tied with it. No Idea. Like being in the gate for so long tied her to it.
She- can't really control it, But if anyone wanted to open the gate- They could easily through her- without risking bodily harm.
It harms her though. >.o

that is why I said OC's only cause it would be better there would be less fighting over who deserved the character more, and if they decide oh well if I cant have Mustang or Ed or Alphonse then they will make a character with their pick and different abilities, or they will use a different pick with the same abilities as the Canon character they wanted.

If I'm going to be limited to only playing OC characters I'm not staying If thats what you want to do for your rps go head but thats not what I'm planing for mine, Gidget I have a rp in mind that would involve your character I think we talked about it before in the thread I told you about my fighter pilot character. Hell I could even build few characters stories into a plot but I never make rps so far in the future that all the cannons are dead so I hope I'm not expected to do that.

Hm.
@ the Vice and Captian:
I think it would be really cool if the characters were Reborn. It could really be a Plot helper. They were reborn because something bad is going to threaten Amestris again. Maybe not Father- but some other threat. Drachma- or some invading country learned of the Country's tunnels and the link to alchemy and the philosopher's stone.
I do understand your concerns about people fighting over who gets to be who- but I feel like if you have auditions- that would help- and I believe that everyone here is mature enough to accept whoever is chosen.

Why whats wrong with using your imagination to create a character, I mean really why would you want to be a Canon their is no imagination while RPing. So please someone tell me why you would want to be a Canon Character instead of being a OC?

the people here now yes but the people who join later mabe not, also my concern with that is I would like to keep complaining to a minimum and also I don't want people bothering me and death angel, saying how they deserve to be the character along with a few other reasons.

Because- Even while there really is no imagination- being able to place yourself in a Canon's character's shoes is a totally different experience then creating a new character. You have to become a whole new person and stick to guidelines that the Author has set down, and some people really enjoy that. Should you take that away from people?
To me- A good OC is played over many years to be perfected. To be forced to create a new OC would make many unstable characters- where their personalities change time after time. Many people here who play Cannon characters probably have perfected the personalities.
This is my experience- I've noticed I can play my character from five years ago more fluently than a newly created one, and I've also seen it in RPing. You're constantly trying to fine-tune your new OC to your liking. Something a character may or may not do when you first create them, may not do it once they have been perfected.

Because you are able to think like them.
Decide what that cannon character would do.
Because You know how that character acts.
I really don't see how it would be reenacting a show- A plot may be totally different from the show, but you know how that character would act.
Roy, in a dark cave.
What would he do?
Edward, Setting sail for Xing.
What would he do if the ship was in danger?
I don't remember these events in the Manga or Anime.
It's fun because you know you can control them. You know what they would do.
Yes, you have restrictions, but you also have restrictions playing an OC, too.

Your statement about being restricted to that characters traits makes it a pain. but gidget makes a point with the whole story line aspect. We get make up the story as we go. just a couple thoughts from me.

Although as much as I make it seem- I don't want this to turn into a huge argument. I'm just supporting opinions here and nothing more. What the Captain decides to do is his choice, and his alone.
