Aubree gasped and took a step back when she saw the water form before her. Within seconds her skin was back to it's normal pale color. "What are you?" She asked softly as she took a step towards her, not sure if she wanted to reach out to touch her.

Aiyana sighed returning to her human form. If threats didn't work, usually shock did, upon seeing her power. Then again, you would think someone who had the abilities of the girl in front of her and Jaque wouldn't be surprised by someone with the control of water. "I'm human... or I assume I'm human," laughed Aiyana. "I'm Aiyana the Changeling fisherman...."
Jaque smiled at the woman and stepped beside Aiyana, "Actually, My lady Aiyana is who we believe to be the legendary Water Walker."
Aiyana glared at him, "I'm not a legendary anything. I am a fisherman, nothing more nothing less. I just happen to be a fisherman who has a little extra abilities. Like I said, I'm a 'Changeling,' maybe I'm not human and because of that I have special abilities."
Smiling she added, "See, I can answer questions, unlike you, miss. I could ask you 'what are you' too, but quite frankly I don't care so much. And your answer would no doubt be a lot of 'ums' and 'uhs'."

Aubree sighed and rolled her eyes. "You know, no matter how poor one's upbringing might be, they should at least have manners." She crossed her arms over her chest. "And I'm Aubree. And yes, I can't answer your question. That's the reason why I was traveling to the Temple of Fire. As I said, I was told I could find some answers there." She let her arms drop as she turned. "I just need to know which way to go in, and I shall leave without hesitation. I can tell when I'm not wanted around." She turned to Jaque. "If you would please be so kind as to just point me in the right way..."

Aiyana laughed, "Me? Have no manners... I suppose that is true." She smiled narrowing her blue eyes at the girl, "The reason I have no manners is that manners do not serve any purpose but to get you killed. My lack of manners and trust have saved me a great many of times in my travels."
Jaque sighed, "Can we at least tell her where to head, Aiyana? You are being cruel."
"Yeah, I tend to be that," Aiyana replied, "or that is what I hear." She turned to Jaque, pulled a map from one of his bags, unfurled it and held it in front of Aubree, begining to point out the way, "We are here on this main road, the fastest way to the Temple of Fire is to follow this road and turn off when you reach this town and go another day's walk or so and you'll be at the Temple of Fire."
She handed the map back to Jaque and said to Aubree, "If you are traveling to the Temple of Fire you won't be out of our hair anytime soon. We'll have to put up with your presence for at least three more days till we get to the merchant's hometown."

Aubree sighed. At this point, it wasn't worth fighting with the woman. Her father had once told her that there were people, whom where stuck in their own ways. 'Just don't fight them, let them go on their way, and forget about it. They aren't worth the time.' She nodded to herself. "I wasn't planning on traveling with you... but if you wouldn't mind...." she trailed off, not really wanting to be a brother. The men seemed fine enough, but Aiyana, the Water Walker... Well. She didn't seem very Godly to her. But it was better to not say anything to her.

Aiyana glanced at the three merchants, two of them making puppy-dog faces at her. Jaque looked like he was trying to hold in laughter. Aiyana glanced back at Aubree and sighed, "You'll probably get lost on your own, come on. Oh, and by the way, if you choose to travel with us, seeing me in moonlight may be quite alarming for you."
Jaque smiled and hugged Aiyana, who slid out of his grasp like water. Turning he said, "I'm so proud of you: you are making friends!"
Aiyana narrowed her gaze at him trying to find words, "I... I... you're an idiot, shut-up."
Jaque laughed and leaned down to whisper quietly in Aubree's ear, "Don't worry about her, she means well, she just has a spiny exterior. She's a horrible liar, who really does want to help people, she just can't figure out how to do so while being nice." The Water Walker narrowed her eyes at Jaque, she knew he was talking about her, but didn't have a clue what he was saying. She sighed, no doubt it was for the best she did not know.

Aubree smiled and Jaque and quietly thanked him. She sighed softly as she looked around the small group. She couldn't help but get a warm feeling. It was like in village of the old woman. But then again... they had their own demon to look out for. Whatever she did, she needed to stay on Aiyana's good side. Aubree didn't really mind be wet, pre-say, but she didn't want to test if her theory of water trumping fire was true. Besides. The woman seemed to have better control over herself then Aubree did.

Aiyana sighed and spoke up, "Jaque, you go gather the rest of my supplies. Tobias, Andrew, why don't you two gather the rest of the things and we can set off in half an hour."
The merchants agreed to do as she commanded. Meanwhile, Aiyana walked back to where there were still two extra grilled fish and came back to Aubree with them, "Are you hungry? We have two extra fish from lunch."
As she held the fish out to Aubree she said coldly but with a smile, "So, if the merchant's theory is correct that would make you the Blazer. It is obvious you are not used to traveling on the road, and especially in groups, so I will tell you this now. There are no secrets between traveling companions. I do not appreciate information being withheld from me, and when you are asked a question, an honest response is expected. However, I will pay you the same courtesy and any question you wish to ask me I will answer. Does that sound fair, Aubree?"
Aiyana didn't wait for a response and continued lowering her voice, "Quite frankly I don't care about your feelings, emotions, or life story, but the others may. You may not like me, which I don't care if you do or not, but you will treat the others with kindness and answer their questions." Stepping away from Aubree, Aiyana said with a big smile that could light up a room, "Sounds good, Lady Aubree?"

Aubree took the fish from her with a soft 'thank you' and listened to Aiyana's speech. She nodded and bit onto her bottom lip. "I understand." She said softly before she looked down to the fish and began to eat some of it. "Thank you, this is very good." She smiled.
Inside she felt slightly panicked. It was true that she had not traveled with other people in a very long time, but what had made her think she had no manners? Whatever it was she needed to shake it off. She was okay for now, and it might be fun to have someone to talk to again....

"Of course, as a stellar fisherman, such as myself I only catch the best," said Aiyana smiling.
At that moment Jaque came behind Aiyana and hit her on the head, "Don't act like it is all your doings. If it wasn't for Tobias, Andrew, or I you would be eating the things raw. You can't cook worth crap."
Aiyana rolled her eyes. Jaque leaned his chin on Aiyana's head and said smiling at Aubree, "So has Aiyana been playing nicely?"
Aiyana looked up at him, "What are you doing? Don't you have things to be doing?"
"Nope, we're all packed up," he said winking at her and placing Aiyana's bag on her shoulder.

Aubree smiled fondly as she watched the two interact with each other. It reminded her of how her and her brother used to act with each other. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad after all. She just had to think of it as a strange sort of family she was tagging along with. She wondered how long they had all known each other, but deiced not to ask. She let out a small laugh and quickly finished eating the fish.

"Oh, so the couple are getting along well," said the merchant Aiyana had called Tobias. Aiyana glared at him but said nothing as she pushed Jaque away from her, the man seriously was a pest.
He smiled at Aubree. While Aiyana and Jaque bickered, and behind Tobias came the other merchant a quiet and simple looking man, Tobias said to Aubree, "Welcome to our merry group Blazer. Do you mind me asking how you came across your powers? You seem less accustomed to your abilities than the Water Walker is. Andrew and I are quite intrigued by the legend of the Eight Gods and Goddesses. For quite some time our people have waited for the coming of the legendary Gods and Goddesses."

Aubree blushed brightly. "I had always through on myself as more of a demon then a Goddess." She laughed softly, but then sighed. "It was my birthday this last year. We were telling stories around the fire like we always do. My mother had sewn this new dress for me and I was sitting a little to close to the fire. I had fallen asleep next to the embers, like I normally did, and well... The dress caught on fire, and from there the house caught on fire. And well.. I'm the only one who survived...." She frowned. "I didn't even feel the fire until my family started screaming. I should have died along with them, but I didn't."

"I'm sorry for the loss of your family," spoke Tobias quietly. Aiyana and Jaque had quit fighting and were listening to her story.
"That sounds somewhat similar to Aiyana's story," Jaque spoke up. "She also survived something she most likely should not have."
"Except I didn't kill anyone with my powers," Aiyana replied, sighing, "or at least not initially. The closest thing I had to family was already dead." Stretching she added, "I am inclined to think of myself more as a demon than a Goddess, but then again I grew up being called 'unlucky' and 'The Changeling'."
Jaque sighed, "And now you use those descriptions as if you agree with them."
"I do," she replied honestly. "Well, should we get going? There is no reason to dawdle. After all, traveling the main road with my condition at night isn't something that I would advise."
Jaque smiled and leaned over to Aubree, "You should ask her sometime about how she acquired her abilities and learned to master them. Who knows, maybe from the questions you ask her you can learn more about yourself. You both are Goddesses after all."

Aubree laughed softly. "Maybe... but I don't feel like a Goddess." She titled her head to the side and looked around. "but I might do that.." She looked over to Aiyana "What do you mean by 'you're condition at night'?" She blinked then quickly added. "If you don't mind me asking." She wondering if she changed at night too, but didn't notice it... If they were the same, maybe they did have more things in common then that had thought they did...
Yet somehow, that didn't soothe her.
