"Shall we stay till the sun is gone and the stars come out? That's another spectacular view that you'll just have to see." Brioso chuckled, sure that the filly wouldn't want to move that soon! After that, a view like that can't be seen everyday! Indeed, it might be nice to just slow down and take a breather for once... Grinning, she relaxed and laid down on the ground, legs folded neatly under her body as she stared at the sky. It was quickly darkening, and the stars will be out any moment...
"Watch the sky carefully... Watch what happens when the sun goes down..." The young mare whispered, trying to set up an atmosphere for the sight they would soon be witnessing.
She smiled to herself as the last ray of sunlight disappeared, signaling the beginning of the 'show'. Instantly, as if someone had flipped on a light switch in heaven the moment the sun was gone, the night sky was filled with twinkling stars, peeking out from behind the clouds. She didn't notice how amazing the transition from day to night was until she actually watched the process (accidentally) as an adolescence... The time between the sun vanishing beyond the horizon and when the stars burst to life to bring light, is a mere second and is easy to miss. In fact, it could be lesser than a second! If you blinked at the wrong moment, it would be all over...
"Have you ever wondered why although the sun is gone, its never so dark that you can't see?" She asked, wondering what the filly thought of the sight she had just witnessed, "The stars provide us with light as much as the moon does at night... They can't be seen in the day because the sun is stronger, brighter than them... However, the sun is not there forever. When its gone, the stars shine brightly enough to guide us at night together with the moon."

The mare's suggestion was far too strong to resist. The night time, especially the stars, were one of the most beautiful things the world was granted with in neri's opinion.
"Yes please!" She chirped, a giant smile plastered all along her face, not seeming to have any plans to turning into anything less than the brilliant grin. Excitment radiated from the red filly, she was almost shaking with joy!
She skipped over to Brioso, clicking her dark gray hooves in the process, and planted herself very close and very comfortably next to the mare. Taking comfort in her warmth and their growing friendship. In their short adventure together, Nerissa had grown extremely attached to the mare. The thought of parting ways at the end of this tale seemed unimaginable. Something that lacked permission to cross her gay thoughts.
Nerissa took the young mare's warning to keep her eyes locked on the sky flourished above them in an endless canvas. She didn't even dare to breath as the most brilliant of colors of the sunset bloomed and bled into the blue and white of the sky. And suddenly, thank god she didn't blink, the stars burst! As if fireworks were set off that never moved, or sparklers were lit. they were all there! Brandishing their existence and sparkle. They had been hiding just a second ago, the filly could swear!
Her head with its snow white mane, which had been resting against the Brioso's neck a second ago, was raised and leaning forward, trying to push itself into the view before her as far as it could. As impossible as it seemed, the filly's smiled widened even further! Her face the incarnation of the purest excitement and bliss. Her eyes sparkled like the thousand lights just in front of her nose.
"Oh my - Goodness did you? - THAT WAS AMAZING!"
Her jumping tongue was unable to phrase the chaotic thoguhts directed at Nerissa's older companion. But the emotion was there. She couldn't tear her eyes off of it, she didn't even dare to blink.
"This is beyond incredible! Thank you. Thank you so much!"
Her eyes suddenly started to sting and water from their lack of healthy blinks. She allowed herself one brief break from the spectacle before her.

"And to think we're all stars in our own right!" Brioso laughed, giving the filly a friendly nuzzle on the top of her head as she seemed to reach for the stars, "Remember that your parents, myself and everyone you had ever met are there to guide you, even if you can't see us." She smiled a little; Nerissa might or might not understand that now, but either way, she would probably understand it better when she's older and ready to leave her parents to go on adventures... After all, Brioso didn't truly understand it until she was a young mare.
"Isn't it? I never tire of seeing it!" A giggle escaped her lips at Nerissa's expression - she was reminded of herself whens he first saw the night sky come to life... Its interesting to spend time with a filly, especially one so energetic and full of life!
"You are very welcome," She nodded with a smile as she flicked her tail, turning her attention away from the filly and to the starry sky, "Lets stay here a little longer to enjoy the view... Its not everyday that you get to see the stars so close! I'll accompany you back down in a little while... I'm sure if you explain, Selena will understand why you returned later."

Nerissa leaned into the nuzzle and smiled even brighter, her eyes sparkling as strongly as the stars littering the canvas of sky before them both.
The smile slide down and her eyes widened as she listened to her friend speak. She had learned from experience that some of the things people say, especially in the tone her friend was using right now, can't be taken literally. That they held a much deeper, mysterious meaning to them that sometimes took years to understand and decipher. Her mind realized this and stored the wise words into the highest category of memories. Always to be as crystal clear in the years to come as the experience of the mountain was to her now.
"Even if I can't see them? Do you mean one day I will be separated from mum, and daddy and Rocket?" The thought flashed a hint of worry and pain into her huge green eyes for a second. But then she realized, "But they will always be there, even if something bad happens right?" This perked her up and she smiled widely again. Her young mind had not understood everything as fully as she herself thoguht right now, but soon, in years to come, she would.
The filly returned her attention back to the spectral. Seeping in it until all the light was extinguished and the moment ended. Leaving the memory to forever be with her though out her life. And granting her a brilliant new friend. And, though she had yet to learn, a new way of life.

"Well, if you wish to travel the world - and there is a lot to travel! - you will have to leave your family, even if its just for a while," She nodded with a gentle smile, knowing that most children will grow up to eventually leave the nest... Some earlier than others. She then turned to look at the starry sky before them with a soft chuckle, "Yes, they will always be there. They're your family after all, and family is for life!"
Brioso then gave the filly another nuzzle; she would grow up to be a fine mare, she was sure of it!
