The only "books" I've read as of recently are only manga. I really gotta get some real books. ^^;

Seems like no one has read anything good lately... sweatdrop
Well I have. 3nodding I read so much this last couple weeks, my brains hurt. xd But it was good. I read Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden, because the movie is coming out sometime soon. The book was good but I didn't like the end. xp Then I read Beowulf for school and it was good too. I also read Salmon of Doubt and Last Chance to See by Douglas Adams, I love his books. They are great, every single one. heart Lastely I just finished City of Dreams by Stephen R. Lawhead. I love his books too. I read a lot so I figure I'll be here quite a bit.

I'm currently reading Moby d**k for the first time. So far it's absolutely wonderful. My boyfriend tried to read it, and warned me that it gets a little... monotonous at times, but so far I'm very much into it! Memoirs of a Geisha is a really good one. I picked that one up randomly and read it, and was very glad that I did. There's a movie coming out? I didn't know! It was so long ago that I read it, I wonder if I should read it again... if I can find it in my box of "finished" books. xp I need more bookshelves.

I read Memoirs a few years ago, it was pretty good. I liked the images of old Japan. If you like Japanese culture books, The Tokaido Road, by LC Robinson is really good, too. It is set in the 1700s, and has a female noblewoman as the main hero (and she really is more of a hero achetype than a protagonist). Anyway, I love books that show snippets of the old culture, so I enjoyed it. 3nodding

Well for fun I'm reading Chronicles of Narnia to my 4 year old. We were gearing up for the movies...but the previews look to scarey so mom will be going alone hehe.
For the sanity of my life..."Boundaries"
For work..."The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding" gotta love being a lactation consultant. lol

I think I must have read that series at least three times during my life, and probably could stand to review it again. 3nodding

Actually I've never read all of them before. So it's been rather enlightening reading some of it for the first time. Magicians nephew is blowing me away LOL. But must get to LWW before December or all will be lost. Ack! xp

Every single book in that series is wonderful. I like Magician's Nephew and Prince Caspian the best. The LWW is the most popular, though, and has just the perfect amount of everything a children's fantasy plot needs. 3nodding

I read all the Narnia books when I was little. There were great, the worlds its created are so imaginative. whee Its a great escape from reality. Around the same time I read those, I was reading the A Wrinkle in Time and the rest of that series by Madeleine L'Engle. Those are really interesting too and similar to Narnia in the way the story is told... I think, its been a while but I remember loving them both. heart
Arianah- a lactation consultant? surprised I've never heard of one before but oddly enough it sounds interesting. 3nodding

I'll have to tell my brother's girlfriend about that, she's expecting in about four months and is planning on going all-natural; handwashing diapers and everything. And my dad turned me on to the Narnia books when I was a youngster, I was so enwrapped in them. I read every one (if I remember right), but it's been so long that I don't remember very much. I'll have to make a library trip and check them out again- or better yet, buy them. heart
