Chip took a deep breath as asked too and released it, he repeated this process till he was breathing normally again. He listen to her retelling of her story and was amazed at how cunning she was. Further more he was mystified that she was holding up so well. He thought for sure he would have found her a mess, shaking, maybe even speaking gibberish but she was fine....other then of obvious.
By the time she was done talking Chip was smiling with admiration. He also just seemed to notice that it was raining. He spotted a tree with a hole dug up under it like a den but it looked old and unused. "Say would you like to get out of the rain with me?" His head jutted in the direction of the den like hole.

She had sat back on her haunches spreading out her paws to exaggerate how big the creature seemed to be. It might have sounded crazy in itself to anyone else.
Looking up to the sky, letting the rain pelt directly over her face she intook a breath then nodded to him. "If you keep the creature at bay if it returns." Getting up to all paws she would follow him to the tree he spotted. "I hadn't thought I would see you again so soon. Thank you for being concerned"

Chip watched her, he knew the beast was large he just didn't know he became that large. No wonder his body was alwasy so sore the next day.
He chuckled "And do what with it? If it was that big I don't think I'd be much help but I will try to protect you from it." He said the word and knew they where truer with her then anyone. He would try to keep this girl safe from him other self, even if it meant I'd have to leave soon. "Your welcome." He smiled and walked over to the tree and waited for her. "Ladies first"

"Then that's all I will ask for" She smiled and crawled into the hole they found. Atleast it would fit them both moderately well without feeling too cramped. She turned around and curled up close to the back. "Better hurry" she called to him, smelling the scent of rain grow heavy as it was about to pour from the clouds above

Chip nodded his head as he moved closer to the hallow tree. Before he entered, the wish vigorously shook out his coat to free him self of most of the water droplets that clung to him. Once inside he laid down by the entrance to guard it. Chip started to clean him self and stopped only long enough to ask. "Where were you going before all this?"

Odette calmly licked over her fur so she didn't look like a drowned rat. The sound of the rain even pouring as it were, soothed what little frazzled nerves she still had. Stopping in mid lick to her side she lifted her head to look at him by the entrance. "I was going home in hopes of seeing my daughter.. but being an adult she seems less interested in visiting."

Chip smiled, "Ah so your a mother...then where is you mate? Why wasn't he here to protect you?" He spoke with out thinking, it only accrued to him that the mate could be dead or someone that would not be named. He wish now that he thought before he spoke but a small, itty bitty part of him really wanted to know and that was the part that spoke.

Staring at him she thought about the question she had been asked only once before. Where was he? Crossing one front paw over the other she let out a breath. "I don't have a mate. I can only guess the thought of settling down for a family terrified him" She stopped there, not willing to tell him or anyone that she never really learned the male's name. "I don't need a male like that in my life anyway.."

"No...I should think not." Some where inside him, that itty bitty part at wanted to know about her mate was doing back flips, but that part was so small still that he didn't really notice it. To change the subject to a more lively one, he hoped, he asked about her daughter. "So, what is you daughters name if I may ask and how old is she?" He went back to licking the water out of his coat to relax the mood.

(Any idea how old an adult would be? >.> I'm just going to say she's 2 and I dunno maybe Odette is 4. I can always fix it later)
Mismatched eyes didn't leave the male, a smile curling at her lips thinking about her only offspring. "Well her name is Creme. She's two so I really shouldn't worry over her. It's still a little hard to let go of my only kit.."
She sighed softly, her gaze lowering to her fur once more. Marks marred her body from all of the scratches but they weren't bleeding, that had long since stopped. A little sting now and then but other wise she felt fine. "Hm what about yourself? Shouldn't you be worrying over a mate with something like that out there terrorizing wishes?"

"She's you little girl right, she's always be that to you, no?" He thought of his mom as he spoke. She gave him tough love but love all the same and with his background it was something he needed to grow and face his blood. Something he still hasn't really done to the fullest.
Chip stopped mid-lick, jaw stretched, tongue to his shoulder. He stared at her for a long moment just thinking how to answer that. He closes his mouth and smirk then looked out to the now pouring world. "I wouldn't ever have one. I can't ever have one." He's voice wasn't hard but light instead. It was just a fact. Something he resolved him self to long ago.

She nodded her head to his comment. Of course she would always see Creme as her kit and even more with the thought that maybe she would be the only one.
Her gaze focused on him, ears twitching hearing the noise outside increase. "Why not? It's not a bad thing.. I imagine." she questioned but left it there. Not wanting to push him if he didn't want to talk about it. "Is it cold over there?"

The sky seemed to open up for it was raining so hard and fast you had to speak up just to be heard over the roar of the beating the ground. He used that roar to his advantage and pretended not to hear the first part. Of course kits would be fun and something he secretly wanted deep down but he wouldn't let his cured blood to continue to a new generation, it wouldn't be fair to them. He couldn't live with that he thought.
Chip turned his head a played off not really hearing her, well. "Oh? I'm sorry, what was that you said? Something about the cold?" He stood and shook out his fur, it fluffed up to make him look silly. "It is a little and it's getting wet. It's coming down so hard it's bouncing in here, just a little." He moved to the back with her and sat on his hind legs. "How you don't mind me coming back here."

Had she been any different she might have cursed the loud storm drowning her out. She didn't like to not be heard but knew something such as nature was not under her control. At least something came across, watching him move back to where she laid. "No of course not. No sense in you being cold and wet. I'm friendly and I don't bite.." she smiled, "Unless it's desired." she finished in a low murmur. "Better?" she asked in a normal tone she hoped he could hear better being closer. She resisted the urge to lean over and help him fix his fur.
