Jada was free for dancing, hmm?

That made Dale get up from the bar, and by the time Jada was coming down the stairs, she was waiting at the bottom. She didn't know Jada's stance on women, and frankly didn't care. She had turned girls before, and even if there was no chance... one dance didn't hurt, did it? It was about time for Dale to get out there, anyway, since couples were already starting to move towards the dance floor.

"Well, before your dance card gets too full, might I ask our lovely hostess for the first dance?"

Dale grinned devilishly, the light reflecting in her diamond earrings. She extended an open palm towards the disguised senshi of tentacle rape battle, and tilted her head.

"I thought it might be fun, at least until the men start lining up for your hand, hmm?"

Imo had spotted several people she recognised now, from Barren Pines, from about campus or from dear Fallon's dinner party. She felt quite mellow for once, drink in hand and not in a rush to go jump into any of the little groups that had formed yet. Just watching and waiting.

Grayson started heading their way, possibly for Fallon? Imo wasn't sure, since he wasn't someone she'd been especially close to at their old (and unknownly to her, zombie-infested) old school. Still she smiled as he approached and spoke up.

"Hey Grayson. I like your hair." Old news, but last Imo had seen him, it hadn't been all black.

Damian didn't take too long at the bar, he was only getting water after all. Soon he had made his way back to Alessa's side, offering her the glass. "There you go," He stood there for a minute, observing the newcomers before he looked back to Alessa. "So, do you go to Meadowview? Your face is familiar, but I don't think we've met before. I would remember a pretty face like yours." He smiled in what he hoped to be a charming manner.

She didn't know why she allowed her mother to convince her to go to this gathering. She was going to just skip out and work on homework, yup just hide away in her room for the night. Until she forgot herself and told her mother while talking to her on the cell phone.

So when the package arrived literally the next day, all Melinda could do was not cringe as she opened the was box. Everything she needed was in it, right down to the coat. No backing out now, she had no choice but to go to this party.

So here she was standing outside the building, her simple black coat snugged close to her body. Invitation in hand as she took in a deep breath. She could turn around, just go back to the Academy. Yet, somehow she knew that her mother would call the moment she did.

Stepping into the building, she held the invitation out just so it could be verified that she belong here. Turning, she sadly gave up her coat as she nods a thank you. Her eyes glancing around as she played with the simple silver bracelet on her right hand.

It seem her mother had decided she need to dress more like a young woman, rather then a preteen. The long simple elegant black dress clung to her body, actually revealing that she had a figure. The v-neck cut made her feel more uncomfortable then the dress itself. She wasn't able to cross her arms, as it only helped show off her chest more.

With another sigh, she lifts her hand to tug on the few strands of hair that were left hanging from blond bun her hair was up in. The way she saw it, she only have to be here for alittle bit, then she could leave right?

As Jada spoke, she eyes the guest book that she was actually close to. With a light shrug, she quickly signed it, only to get that one small thing out of the way. As she set the pen down, she steps aside for the next person, her black heels clicking.

Her eyes wondered over the group that was here, finding she new a few people in the crowd. Fallon, Howl, Imogen, as well as a few others from other parties she partaken in. Knowing a few people were here she knew, kindof made her feel alittle better.

Slipping away from the front, she makes her way through the groups. Sitting, that is what she needed to do. It would hide this dress some, and she could tell her mother she one. It would make her rather happy.

-She was late. Well.. kind of.

From 7:50 - 8:00 Aurora Namid had stood outside the Fondue Haus, rereading and reevaluating her decision to come for the umpteenth time. She was not a party sort of girl... the thought of... milling around and chatting idley for hours had never appealed to her. And yet.. she'd settled on a sad truth today. If she weren't doing this.. she'd more than likely be milling around doing nothing. Which was even worse.

As the sound of the hostess' voice range through the doorway Aurora sucked in her breath, pushing her way into the resteraunt with purpose. She had to do it now, before she lost the nerve. Think of it as a training in socializing. Nobody looked up to wallflowers. People looked up to those that were charming and vibrant.

Her fingertips swirled her name into the guest book, before she glanced up, smoothing the fabric of her baby pink dress. So many people... so many that already knew each other and were already chatting and enjoying themselves.

Sigh... wasn't it rude to burst into conversations? Forcing a polite smile to herself, Aurora inclined her towards the hostess, before making her way lightly through the growing crowd.

On the brightside, even if the night was a total dud there would totally be good food.-

Coming up beside Fallon and the redhead, he realized that he recognized her too, once she turned around. Imogen? Maybe? Yeah, he was pretty sure that was her name. Grayson had a decent head for names, and they had gone to school together. Even though they hadn't really spoken, he recognized her face, and it was comforting to see someone he knew.

"Hi." Posture relaxing, because it was a little more bearable now that he saw more and more people he knew -- and felt like less of a freak because of it -- he smiled. "Thanks. I got tired of the blond."

It was a relief to see that most of the people were around his own age. Dani had insisted they would be, but he'd been worried he would be the youngest one there. He was glad to be wrong.

Behind him, someone moved onto the dance floor, and he felt an old stirring. He hadn't had much time for dancing lately, or much motivation, but with the opportunity right in front of him, he couldn't really think of a good reason why not to.

So, looking back at the girls, he said, "Imogen, Fallon? Do either of you want to dance?"

Since they'd all gone to school together, he was pretty sure they'd remember he had been dating Benny Beldon, so he wasn't worried that they would think he was hitting on them. Besides, his smile was harmless.

Grayson was harmless, really.

Fortunately for Tate, Alessa didn’t shout any more to catch her attention, as Damian came back quickly with her glass. “Thank you.” She took a sip of the refreshing water. This was not a very fancy drink, but again, she always loved the plain stuff better.
She grinned back. “Yes, I’m from Meadowview! But I only arrived here a few months ago” she explained, a spiel that had become common for her, “So… huh…”
Yeah, she was still bad with compliments. She looked down, hesitating to keep eye contact with him. Her body language, however, was telling a lot on the fuzzy feeling she was having, from her wriggling foot to the hand behind her back. Secretly, she hoped in return Tate didn’t notice her presence, after all.
“Ah, but I’m… I’m not that special…”
It was also hilariously easy to charm her. (Maybe the part about her having had a boyfriend wasn’t too hard to swallow after all.)

"It looks good." She nodded, happy to trade smalltalk.

She was in a way sincerely glad to see him despite the sum of her knowledge being his name, his looks, that he'd had a girlfriend at BP and that he seemed nice enough. Any survivor of Barren Pines, even Azzo who she'd always found creepy, Imo was always happy to see around . She knew she didn't have the foggiest what exactly they had all lived through, because she couldn't remember even as much as Sue did (fire? what fire?). Even if they hadn't been friends then and weren't friends now the simple fact that they had all lived through it, made it out together, sort of endeared the whole lot to her somewhat. Silly but no less true for it.

"I'm always up for a dance." She glanced at Fall, to see if her friend would rather take the oppertunity. If not, Imo'd be more than happy to take Grayson up on the offer.

Ladon interrupted before she could answer Alessa, a grace which she was happy of, even if it was a denial of her request to be hidden. "You're right," she said, "you hide behind me instead, I will protect you from the ravaging girlchildren who want to date you." And she smiled, not meanly. She would have died if Mariska had, in fact, succeeded in bringing her to the Johanssons' party, as her mother wasn't exactly subtle in her desire to marry off her daughter to their son. Their son was an a**.

She sighed, hanging her head, and then straightened again; she could look like a graceful young lady if she wanted. Sure, she was a six-foot-tall Amazon but she was going to look good being a six-foot-tall Amazon. (Tate did not seem to notice Ladon's confusion at the suddenly appearance of OMG GIRLY CURVES!!!, being used to being seen as a gangly boyish type of girl.) "I'll take them off after we sit," she said, finally uncrossing her arms. For having practically no chest on a good day, she had a lot of cleavage...

Someone said her name, not her preferred name, her full name. It was a voice she knew. It was a voice she had never considered would be heard here, at a Singles' Awareness dance. Like a scene from a movie, the boy she had called a unicorn had popped up and now. Now Tate just wanted to hide. "Well, um," she said, still staring at the head of teal hair. "Let's go sit down! Come on." She grabbed Ladon's hand and, thinking that Alessa seemed to have found a friend, began to head to the stairs. How many people fit at one table? Would Howl want to sit with her? Could she bear such humiliation?

Best to head it off now. Find out. Still pulling Ladon along with her, she stopped in front of Howl and smiled. "Hello," she said, blinking with surprise when she recognized his friend; wasn't that the boy she'd played Battleship against back in November? "This is Ladon. Would you and your friend like to sit with us? I mean. At the same table."

Ohgod. Tate wanted to leave. Maybe Ladon would go to McDonalds with her. "Only if you want to," she finished lamely, blushing a little in a way that made her eyes look much greener than normal.

Elke waved after Grayson, bemused for a moment until she saw he'd approached Fallon and Imogen. Oh, she was so glad he was seeing friends, it was such a nice thing to see him smile again, she never wanted to see Grayson the way he'd been after hearing about Jude again. She clapped her hands together and smiled, headed over to the guest book and signed it. "Hello, Melinda," she said, and then she was wandering off to check on Grayson from a spot near the stairs. He still looked okay. Talking to Imogen--oh, they'd be so cute together, except... Something shied from thinking about that, something deeper than the part of her that knew her brother preferred boys. Why would she envy Imogen? Elke made a face, adjusted the flowers in her hair, and then hurried off to throw herself on Pierrette.

"Pierrette, mon amie," she said, hugging the younger girl and giving her a kiss on each cheek. "Gosh, I feel so underdressed, look at you! You're gorgeous, like Glinda the Good Witch or something. Do you want to sit together? The Princess might come later, we could all sit together in a group! Please let's sit together!"

He had only looked away for a moment to talk to Marlo, and when he glanced back, there was Miss Tatiana Konstantin and her male companion immediately in front of them. His lips curled upward fondly.

"It is a pleasure to see you again, Miss Tatiana." He nodded his head in greeting, one time to the brunette, and one to the dark-haired boy. Only to be polite, he offered his hand to Ladon for an introductory hand shake. "It is wonderful to meet you Mr. Ladon." Howl had not been given a last name. Howl would have to settle with "Mr. Ladon," as the boy's title.

Not forgetting his own companion, he turned to face his classmate with a simple gesture. "This is my classmate, Mr. Marlo Xanis. And if it is okay with him, then we would be delighted to accompany you both."

He was unaware if his friend knew the young lady, so he offered an introduction as well. "Mr. Xanis, this enchanting young lady in the emerald dress is Miss Tatiana Konstantin."

Jada gave Dale a bright smile as the blue-eyed young woman approached her, holding out her hand. Well, there were a few other people trickling in, but she would approach them all later and thank them for their attendance. "I'd be pleased." she agreed, and accepted Dale's hand with a smile.

The other young woman almost towered over the short young woman (5'4 in the two-inch heels she was wearing!), so Jada almost instinctively took the female position. She'd never danced with another female, even if her dance teachers had been that gender. She'd always learned with a male partner. So it was rather odd as she slid her hand into Dale's. "This could be most enjoyable." she agreed.

She had to use her left hand to lift up the hem of her floor-length deep blue gown as she followed Dale towards the floor.

Azzo sighed, "GRAMS HURRY UP!" He stood at the bottom of the stairs, arms crossed. He was already in his outfit. Melody had sent him an invention to this singles awareness day thing.

"Don't you yell at me." Grams said as she crossed her arms walking down the stairs.

"It never takes you this long to get dressed for Bingo. I'll be late for the party." He pouted at her, "You said I should meet more people my age."

The old lady sighed at her grandson. "Alright, I'm ready." She said as Azzo helped her with her fur coat.

"You have a way home?" She nodded and he chuckled, "That Bubba character again I take it?" He helped her out the door and headed their way to where grams normally plays bingo at. Lucky for Azzo it was on the way to the party.

"You don't like him?" She asked looking at him as she walked along side him.

"I didn't say that." It took them a bit, to get to the Bingo Parlor where Azzo bid goodnight to his Grams and headed off for the party.

Azzo was dressed in his normal baggy pants, with a velvet red shirt and black vest. The vest had a heart on the pocket and a rose stitched on the back. His left pants leg also had a rose stitched there. Both in a matching red color. He also had a trench coat, however he paused long enough to put on a collar he'd gotten when he was younger, it had a crystal heart hanging from the loop. Only adding to the Dog factor which for now was hidden by his top hat as well he was carrying his grandfathers walking stick.

When he reached the party he looked at the time and frowned. "She's going to kill me if she's even here." He muttered as he pulled out the invention and looked at it. Clearing his throat he walked in handing the coat and invention to the appropriate people, along with the hat and cane. Slinking over to sign the book when it was his time.

"Now then...." He said softly unaware he was near Aurora. He was glancing around for the blonde that'd invited him.

Actually, surprisingly enough, Melody was running late herself, and she didn't appreciate such things either. She blamed her mother.

"But it's good to be fashionably late!" the woman had cooed out with a wide smile, as she finished the final touches to Melody's make-up. "It'll draw more attention to yourself!"

She cringed at the memory, wishing she had been able to sneak in her own make up to redo it on her own. Her mother had forbidden it and she had no choice but to go along with it. Could have been worse, she had to remind herself. They could have never decided on a dress and she'd be forced to wear whatever her mother wanted her to. Melody made a face and moved to sign herself in.

Only after did she move into the party, wondering if she could find the woman who had set such a thing up and thank her for the invite (it was the polite thing to do). She fixed the grip on her bag then glanced around to see if she knew anyone there, as well as hoping to find Azzo and apologize for her late arrival.

Protect him from other girls? Hah! It was enough to laugh. Really, he wasn’t even in the race for the best looking guy here, and he wanted to point this out to Tate. For all her dress suggested it, she really didn’t notice the other guys. Or did she? Upon looking up, she noticed her gaze travel from across the room, and looking out, he tip-toed to see where her eyes were staring at so intently. In a moment and without warning, she grabbed his wrist and practically dragged him across the floor. Not an Amazonian, he could barely keep up, and stumbled a few times before he managed to pick up his pace and keep close. “Tate..?” His voice was lost in the rising noise as more and more people came in and started to strike up conversations.

In a moment, he found what all her rushing meant. It seemed she DID have an eye for the other guys, and it looked as if he found someone who might have had his eye on Tate. Out of breath, he stood there face to midsection with a slender young man. It was not someone who he ever saw before, and with hair traveling down in sea-green waves, he was confident that this boy did not go to his school. Could he be from Sovereign Heights? He certainly looked tall enough, but then again, he was pretty much flanked on all sides by people much larger than he was, making him feel closed in. His discomfort was lost in the rush of formal introductions.

The man’s name was Howl, a lank fellow with a casual formal dress and very long hair tied up into a ponytail. The hairstyle was odd in Ladon’s opinion, but what did he know of fashion. Standing before the two guys, he felt over-dressed and more out of place. Guys always tended to make him self-conscious as he started to compare. They also worried him, as so many judged back and started to nitpick. Still, both had the looks that most girls went after. Mature, strong, and tall, though Howl defiantly seemed more soft than most guys looked like. Well, Ladon wasn’t chiseled exactly either. While he suffered from boyish looks, Howl seemed to radiate sophistication, and spoke politely in a way that made him think of him as a high-class gentlemen.

Mr. Xanis was simple in his dress shirt and slacks, again making Ladon feel out of place. He seemed just as unsure and out of place as some of the other people here, but again, at least he had a friend with him.

When a hand was given, Ladon stepped reluctantly forward and shook Howl’s hand lightly. “Call me Mr. Shepard.” Ladon was for his friends. Because it was appropriate, he also held out his hand for Mr. Xanis before stepping back by Tate’s side. He looked at the green-haired boy and then up at Tate. A fresh rose-petal pink was across her cheeks, and he looked away. So it seemed she had more friends. From the looks of it, she seemed very interested. So much for Singles night.

Looking away, he noticed a petite girl that he somewhat knew. Pier had entered in a simple pink dress, contrasting with the majority of black dresses in the room. White pearls shimmered in the overhead light as she came in and was quickly introduced to another girl. He frowned, wondering if he should go over and say hello. All he knew was that he didn’t feel like being here even more now.

“I’m going to get something to drink.” He didn’t offer her anything, and quickly left her side to head to the bar.

Awkwardness, it was Marlo's long time companion and occasional drinking buddy. If he drank. Which he didn't. Elzo drunk was bad enough, no need for HIM to get drunk as well at such occasions. At being introduced, Marlo felt himself find a familiarity. Formal dinner parties and being the odd man out did that to you. Once you realized it was just like any other posh party, you were good.

Well, this one would be less filled with snobs and cranky old men, so, in that, it was a hundred times better.
"Landon." Grabbing the boy's hand he didn't so much shake as give a tight squeeze. Oops. He was just a little stressed. Giving the smaller boy a weak apologetic look, Marlo turned his gaze to the girl. Tate he knew how to deal. Tate was a girl in a pretty dress. Marlo could deal with girls in pretty dresses. Most of the time anyway. Taking her hand he gave it a kiss. Sue him, it was how he was taught. And a bit of his own tactics. "Miss Tate. A pleasure."
"Howl, I...think we may have chased of that Landon boy. Tate, is he your cousin perhaps? He seems a bit young to be at well." A party for singles? "A high school setting."
