Kilik said nothing for a time. "Why are you apologizing to me then? That's his fault. You did nothing to offend me." He picked up his things and went to the carriage outside, putting his things on top. "Other than modeling? Well, you could try helping Marie or Sebastien, but...I'd let them warm up to you first. If they think you're horning in over their 'territories' they'll get ya quick. Just...do whatever I suppose. I'll think of something."

The man sitting up front with the horses' reigns in his hands turned around. His face was a smooth tan that accentuated his purple hair and deep, red eyes. "Master? Are you bringing in another stray?"

Kilik smirked. "You were a stray, too, when I met you, Sebastien."

Sebastien's tanned face darkened as he blushed, then face forward. "I didn't mean it like that. I'm more tolerant of your...escapades. Marie, on the other hand..."

Kilik nodded and opened the door. "I know. She met him earlier, but I'll have a talk with her later." He then looked at Aaron. "You can either sit in here with me or up front with Sebastien. Doesn't matter to me which you choose."

Kilik raised at eyebrow at Aaron. "Stress-relief? Interesting." He sat down and nodded his head as the other got inside the carriage with him. Once the door was closed, Sebastien got the carriage moving on its way.

Kilik sighed and pat Aaron's head. "Your body is still recovering. Just rest for now." Then he was deep in thought. On the street, the carriage pulled past a gruesome scene. A bloodied body lay covered by a white cloth. Well, it wasn't much white anyway, for the blood had almost completely soaked it. Kilik narrowed his eyes at the sight and Sebastien was deadly quiet.

One of the policeman stopped their carriage. "Excuse me, sir. Could I ask you why you're traveling so late?"

Kilik's reply was cool and calm. "Business trip. Did something happen here?"

The officer nodded. "Yes. But it's nothing for you to be concerned with. If you don't mind me asking, who do you have with you?"

Kilik gestured to the front. "There's my senior servant Sebastien. In here is my apprentice. Don't mind him. He's but a boy and not good with the world of darkness."

The officer looked at both Sebastien and then the shivering form within. "...very well. You clear. Move along."

Sebastien gave the reigns a light rap and the horses pulled them down the road once more. "Master?"

Kilik folded his hands beneath his chin. "Speak, Sebastien. What's on your mind?"

Sebastien was silent for a moment. "The scent...it belongs to Lord [-insert name of Aaron's previous master-]."

Kilik sighed. "Sebastien, are you trying to say something more?"

Sebastien grunted. "if you're really going to have that 'apprentice' in the house, you should at least show him what you are. It'll clear up misunderstandings, later. Since, you have nothing to deal with that man."

Kilik was silent for a moment and looked at Aaron. "Lord Mikale...was the body under that cloth. Personally, I try to avoid him at all costs, but...tonight...it seems we have crossed paths for the last time."

Sebastien coughed loudly.

Kilik glared towards the front. "Sebastien knows better, but thinks it's best you know. I may be a Lord, but I am an exceptional one. Normally, my kind would be a slave as you are. But a stroke of luck put me where I am today. For I am...one of the rare breeds of Great Wolves from the ancient past that can transform into a human. Naturally, only Sebastien and Marie know this, but since you're new, you ought to know. Thus, if I do strange things, pin it on that. And put it out of your mind."

Kilik sighed. "Unless he's an undead, which I highly doubt." He narrowed his eyes and looked out the carriage's window. "Don't insult me. I don't eat people. I hunt, sure, but it's mostly free game like deer and such. Sometimes other wolves, but never people."

Kilik sighed. Ah, that's understandable. It makes me hate being a wolf sometimes..." Then he listened to his next words. "Your luck must be bad. But then, that makes me wonder about myself? Will I be a master for you? Or will I be no different than the others? I'll say this, people change, so nothing is a guarantee."

Kilik watched Aaron fall into his lap, asleep. He stared at the other for a time, then sighed and looked outside the window. Hm...this one is interesting. He still touches me after all that. Sebastien and Marie took a moment to decide to stay."

An hour or so later, the carriage pulled up before a manor that looked decrepit and haunted from the outside. Kilik looked upon it with satisfaction. "Good, it hasn't changed since I left." He gently shook Aaron's shoulder. "Aaron, we've arrived at your new lodgings."
