Deneb nearly jumped out of her skin as that voice rolled over her. She quickly spun prepared for the worst. "I..I live here!" she snapped back at him wishing that she had a horn more like a unicorns instead of the one she had. That one might have been useful for attempting to stab the big stallion, instead she was down to teeth and hooves, and his teeth were far more effective at causing damage than hers were.
She took a deep breath then pulled herself up to her full height and tried to surpress all the emotions that where rolling around inside of her. She schooled her face into a neutral expression and managed a very calm "What do you want?"
Even if she was about to be eaten, she wasn't going to go down without trying to fight..

"What do I want?" repeated Xelloss with a smirky grin. It was a good question with no clear answer. What he really wanted was to erase her memory of him lying helpless on the ground. Unfortunately, that wasn't something within his capabilities.
"Maybe I just wanted to say hello!" He was settling now into a familiar behavior plan, all smiles and no teeth. It was the deceptive and mischievous persona he usually used. He liked people to not take him seriously and to underestimate him. It had helped him weasel his way into many favorable situations in the past.
In the meantime, his mind worked in the background. To kill her, or not to kill her? That was the question.

Deneb snorted. "I don't believe that for a second." she tossed her head getting her forelock out of her eyes so she could watch him closely. "I don't trust you, I have no reason to trust you." she considered for a moment. "Unless you've come to say Thank you." she said with a mocking tone.
She knew that he had no intention of thanking her for helping him. But the thought of needling him just a little more was to enticing to miss. She smirked and looked at him sidelong. "Is that it~ Does the big strong kalona stallion need to thank the little kirin mare~?" she thrilled with excitement at teasing him again. She's almost missed it.

The obnoxious smile froze on Xelloss' face and the tip of his tail twitched. Something about this kirin mare just got under his skin. He'd dealt with his share of obnoxious soquili but none had managed to affect him personally so much. In fact, he usually prided himself on his ability to keep disconnected from a situation. It was just her. Something about her.
"I think that it's best I warn you of something." He couldn't keep the obvious irritation from his voice. It would be so pleasant to kill this mare...
"Technically, I owe you one. I don't know if I'd go so far as to say that I owe you my life... but I'm trying to give you some sort of allowance. Hoooowever." He looked at her, trying not to be overcome by aggravated loathing. "However, if you aggravate me enough that I would regularly kill the source of the aggravation and then you aggravate me even more... you may have a problem."

Deneb's eyes widened slightly. Him owe her...yes in a way he did, but she wasn't exactly sure she liked the idea of the Kalona owing her anything.
"Forget it." she said quickly. "Do me the favor of..." she trailed off and had to wonder why. Yes she wanted him gone but somehow it was just hard to say. She snorted mentally, that was silly, say the word, say they'd be square and send the dangerous stallion away.
Unfortunately she just didn't seem to be able to say it. She considered all her options before looking back up at him. "And what would you consider equal in value? I suppose not eating me is would be considered fair, but somehow I think your conscious won't allow you to get away with just that."
She then smirked. "But getting under your skin is so much Fun" she brashly teased him and then wonder why she had.

"Ooooon the contrary," he said with distinct irritation. "I consider not eating you payment enough, given how much you are begging to be made meat of in practically every way possible." His ears were back. He usually had much better control of his posture than this. Again! This mare was uncannily irritating. She knew it too, which added to the insult.
"If you want someone else killed, someone other than me presumably, I would however be happy to oblige." He smiled at her with a smirk that was all aggravation.
"It would be a great joy to kill someone and imagine your face on their body right now... and then I'd be free to kill you the next time I saw you if you were this annoying." He didn't think that she would take him up on his offer. All the more pity.

"But that would be just too easy~" she purred. "And to bad for you I don't have any enemies....except for you." she said with an idle flick of her tail.
She then slid towards him feeling brave enough to taunt him further. "Besides, might be useful to have a Kalona who owes me a favor. There could be some future problem that perhaps only your wit and cunning could solve for me." she absently flicked her tail letting it brush against his leg. "Your not exactly any mare's idea of a knight in shinning armor, but I suppose you'd do in a pinch." she said letting her eyes light up.
"And if you dare bite me right now, I'll kick you again." she said huskily.

Xelloss was more than just tongue-tied. He was positively choked with aggravation. He loathed this mare and he loathed that he had already made the decision not to kill her. He could change his mind and slaughter her anyways but he also loathed the idea of her forcing him to change his mind. Was this a battle of wills, then? Strange that the mare would enter such a contest when her success would mean her death.
"There is just one little flaw with that, my darling." The emphasis he put on that final word was not a pleasant one.
"I am hardly going to spend the rest of my life following you around. I already have another quite able mare to fulfill that role. So... if you plan on calling in that favor any time except this instant..." His smile came back, twisted and annoyed. "Then you'd better have some magical way of finding me. I don't live here."

"Well how convenient. I don't either." she said. She slowly circled him much like a cat would a mouse. The way he made her feel, she fellt slightly absured treating him like the prey animal, but it was giving her a power trip too. Here was a big, powerful, strong male kalona being toyed with a little kirin mare.
She rounded back to face him again. Her entire body thrilled with excitement. "I suppose we could come to an arrangement right here, right now."

"Absolutely not," Xelloss spat. He was getting fed up with this. He was starting to get tempted to just turn around and leave the obnoxious mare right where he had found her... or maybe right where he had found her minus a few key pieces.
"If you think that I'm going to start arranging any of my life around you, you're very mistaken. If you want a favor then call it in now. I'm not going to hunt you down every week until you decide on something." He fixed her with a particularly irked look.
"Call it in now or I'm probably going to decide that this was all far too much effort and that you are far too annoying to manage."

"Well its my favor to decide when, where and what to use it on. You'll just have to deal with it." she said turning giving an absent flick of her tail looking back at him. "You can't make me use it right now. I don't have anything to use it on." she smirked. "So I think I'll just hang on to it whether you like it or not."
She walked imperiously over to the small pool in the center of the clearing and drank from it letting him stew. Even if he tried to come after her right now, she felt confident that she'd be able to kick him and skitter away faster before he closed his teeth on anything important. Besides if he was unlucky she'd get him in the jaw and he'd be in even more trouble then.
She glanced back at him one part of her feeling smug while the other, the part she was ignoring, revolted and tried to tell her she was being the most stupid female on the face of the planet. She shoved that part down further and waited letting her tail flick again. Such a handsome stallion...she mentally spazzed and nearly gagged at that thought. There was something so wrong with her...

He stared at her as she walked away from him. He wasn't exactly the most predatory kalona. He tended to toy with his prey for far longer than the actual violence. Still, he was aghast that she had the nerve to turn her back on him. His lip drew back at that. How he wanted to bite her. Had he ever wanted to so thoroughly destroy a creature before? He didn't think so.
That was enough. He had enough of this.
While she had her back on him and was drinking he made his disappearance. His source of pride was his speed and even while injured he was able to disappear into the surrounding vegetation with surprising swiftness.
"I'll repay you or not on my time, princess," he called from beyond her sight. "But I grow tired of these games. Don't assume I won't kill you if we meet again."
And then he was gone, whisking himself away from the mare as fast as his stiff legs could carry him.
With any luck, he'd never meet her again.

Deneb let her knees go out from underneath her and sagged to the ground. "Oh God...What's wrong with me..." she gasped out relieved he hadn't tried to attack her or that she'd hadn't had to resort to violence.
She stayed there for a long while letting herself cool down and let the tension of all kinds flow out of her body. Once she felt able to move she got up and took a deep breath. She shook her head then ducked into the woods to do some thinking.
