Like I said, I played Kingdom Hearts. I played it enough to confirm that I'm not interested in it. And yeah, I realize that gameplay wise, it might be a bit difficult for a little kid, but content wise... I knew enough that I didn't wanna bother playing it. My friend brought it over and made me play the beginning of it. I did, and wasn't interested, simple as that. But no, I'm not gonna grind through a game just for the sake of finishing it. FFX started out good, but got boring, and the storyline wasn't insteresting anymore, so I stopped. Same with Dead Space, I started playing it hoping it would be awesome, but it turned out to be one of the most boring games I've ever played, so I didn't bother finishing it. A person doesn't need to finish a game to form an opinion of that game.

Well, there you go. That's exactly the same thing. I mean, I didn't like Dead Space, but let's say I did. And I'd say, "You should check out this game, it's awesome. You play as this engineer who goes into this space station where everyone's been transformed into like a zombie-alien type creature, and you gotta figure out what caused it." And you'd say, "Well, that particular theme doesn't interest me, so I'm not gonna bother." It's the same with me and KH, the idea of a crossover of Final Fantasy and Disney doesn't interest me. Especially when the story is really about some random kid who's not from either franchise, and only meets the FF characters incidentally. But even if ther was no Final Fantasy in it... As much as I love Disney, the idea of a Disney crossover where it's like, "We're aware of each other, and that we're from different worlds," doesn't interest me. I love Lion King, I love Donald Duck, I love Aladdin, but only as far as their confined artificial universes go. Crossing them all into one game/movie/etc. doesn't interest me. And then you throw Final Fantasy into it and it's the same thing. And that's the bottom line with Kingsom Hearts, the theme, the idea behind it doesn't interest me. That doesn't mean it's a bad game. It looked nice, and I'm sure it was nice and polished. But it's not for me. And while some people might love it, I'd say it's a crappy idea. Yes, it's pure poinion, but that's all I got. If I hate all the ideas that Square comes up with, (which includes FFXI, FFX-2, and all the horrible FF7 spinoffs), then yes, to me Square-Enix has had a very disappointing beginning of 2000s. Yes, Square is always gonna have awesome graphics, and yes, Square is always gonna have nice, polished, glitch free gameplay. But these are RPGs we're talking about. Most of which usually take well over 40 hours to beat. And I play them pretty much for the storyline. The gameplay issues, and all that, that comes second. So I'm not gonna invest 40 - 90 hours of my time on a game where I don't like the storyline. And that includes the concept, the overall ideas.

Well, here's the simple facts. I didn't like the idea of Kingdom Hearts, I didn't like the first.. However long I played of it. And the rest of it didn't interest me. And like I said, pretty much every game I love and consider in my must-have collection, I liked right from the beginning, and was hooked within 5 minutes.

Well, I can't just play EVERYTHING that's out there. Yeah, there are certain things about games that don't interest me, or turn me off. Like, I generally don't bother with first person shooters because I simply don't like that gameplay style. I don't usually play games without storylines. I'm generally not insterested in crossovers, I didn't even bother with Dissidia. But another factor is time. Like, if someone said, I can't play any video game ever, except Kingdom Hearts, sure I'd play it, and I'd probably enjoy it to an extent. But there's just way too many better games out there, and not enough time to even beat all of them. Whenever I'm earning money, I'm usually buying so many games that more than half of them I don't even end up beating, and just end up trading them off without even playing them for an hour. If I get a game and I really like it, I'll beat it more than once. A lot more than once, depending on how much I like the game. So if I regularly replay all my favorite games, and every year there's at least 2 - 3 games that come out that I consider my favorite, that's a lot of games, and I replay all of them regularly, so I can't just beat every single game that comes out. Plus I don't rent. But yeah, if it's an RPG, that takes over 40 hours to beat, I better REALLY like it, otherwise it's not worth the time. I loved Persona 3 and 4, and I've beaten them about 3 - 4 times each. And am on another playthrough of 4 right now.

And am on another playthrough of 4 right now. over 40hrs thats a joke righth ahaha. most rpgs are atleast 60-70hrs. i sopend over 250 with ff12 and i still dident do like two or three things. most rpgs i spend about 100-150 tho. mmaybe thats why im more into action and adventure now. becuse its mostly all story.... like people complained cause heavenly sword was short but it was a good story and fun to play. i just finished enchanted arms was good story but short for a rpg was about 60hrs. there was one thing that annoyed me about it but i dealt with it. i dont rent either, and i dont trade either. not worth it when u trade u get less then half what u paid no thanks. i know what i like and have yet to go wrong on a game. i got dissida its an okay game but find some of the stuff u can do in it confsing when it comes to the menu. and the story is okay i geuss i really wouldent know becuse i dun bother with it much. my brother and his friend loved it. im waiting for P3P to come out. also getting god of war 3 (besides ff13) for my birthday., i expect ff13 to last me though summer. i dont replay games becuse i got too many games to replay. i did replay persona 3 for the fes version i did replay ffx ALOT but that was b4 i got alot of games. and i am replaying kh2 becuse my file got erased so im replaying on hard mode almost done. and i had to replay dmc3 becuse my sister accidently copied over my file when all i had was the final boss (which i almost killed her for and told her no more sharing and made her lvl up my char for me)

Ryuna_08 over 40hrs thats a joke righth ahaha. most rpgs are atleast 60-70hrs. I find that lately RPGs have been getting shorter though. But even so, I can beat FF7 in 50 hours if I wanted to. Usually I spend about 70 on it, if I breed the chocobos. Ryuna_08 i sopend over 250 with ff12 and i still dident do like two or three things. most rpgs i spend about 100-150 tho. mmaybe thats why im more into action and adventure now. becuse its mostly all story.... Well, you're only proving my point further. If I have to spend that much time on a story and characters I'm not all that interested in, that's a HUGE waste of time. Ryuna_08 i dont rent either, and i dont trade either. not worth it when u trade u get less then half what u paid no thanks. Yeah, but it's better than sitting on a stack of games that you know you'll never play again. Ryuna_08 i dont replay games becuse i got too many games to replay. Well, see? But I mean, there are some games where the story's just so good, or the game itself is so beautiful that it's worth replaying. And that's what it comes down to. Yeah, there are games that have a good storyline, or are just okay, in which cases I do beat them, but then I ask myself, "Am I gonna play this game again?" and if the answer is no, then why should I keep it? Yeah, the trade-in value is much less, but if I got like, 3 games that I'm never gonna bother playing again, and I can trade them in, and get another new game for them, and not pay an extra dollar for it, it's a good deal. And it saves me shelf space. Ryuna_08 and i am replaying kh2 becuse my file got erased so im replaying on hard mode almost done. and i had to replay dmc3 becuse my sister accidently copied over my file when all i had was the final boss (which i almost killed her for and told her no more sharing and made her lvl up my char for me) So, to you, the important thing is to have a save file?? Also, I got well over 100 games myself. And I still replay them periodically. Luckily quite a few of them are about as short as Heavenly Sword... And that's the thing, someone would say, "I don't wanna buy Heavenly Sword because it's so short." But if you can beat Heavenly Sword in 6 hours, and replay it 5 times, that's 30 hours right there. I don't usually keep count, but some games, I just happened to... And I gotta say.. Resident Evil 3, I beat 31 times since I got it in 2000. And the new Silent Hill Shattered Memories, since I got it for PS2 on January 19th 2010, I'd beaten it 16 times.

Well, a quarter of 250 is still over 60. And I'm not gonna invest that much time into a game I'm generally not insterested in. Look, I know it can be asking for a lot, but when I invest into an RPG, I'm expecting an experience that's at least 75% as good as FF7 and FF8. Whatever that means, I don't have one definitive criterium for what makes an RPG for me. I just feel it out. But there aren't very many RPGs out there that I'm willing to put that much time into. And I've been looking. Persona 3 and 4 are the only RPGs that I actually liked better than FF7 and FF8. And since then, I tried maybe 5 different RPG franchises, none of which enticed me enough to actually bother going through them.
There's that one thread here in this guild that says, "How many games you got", so that's why I did a count, just for the hell of it. And that's when I counted 114. I traded some off since then, but I also got some. But there's no way the count is less than 100 at this point.
