KiiMeLwi blinked at Haze, the smile not leaving her face, no matter how confused she was. Her ears flapped once, but pretty hard and quickly. Well. These two...Mishap and Guardian...would certainly prove to be interesting characters.
"Ah...nice to meet you...er...Miss Haze." She wondered what kind of title Haze would take without being offended. She peered at Kalderetta, and grinned and waved. "Hello there, miss Retta! You look very nice today!" She turned back to the guardian and offered the small cake box. "I brought you and little Retta a small welcoming gift. It isn't much, and I do hope you enjoy the kinds I choose..." ((cake1, cake2))
Shavira gave Retta a broad grin and tried to copy her curtsey, failing miserably and almost toppling over. She gave up quickly, not wanting to squish her friends around her belly. "Thanks! Retta is Retta, right? Friends are good for Retta! Shavi has friends, and they're nice." She was certainly excited about this meeting, not even noticing how confusing Haze seemed to be.

Retta blinked and giggled, she was accustomed to copying others that it felt silly and nice to be the one copied this time around. She didn't have that difficult a time in understanding Shavira, Haze spoke far more complicated words, and bleated in agreement.
"Sha'i!" she clapped, doing her best to pronounce Shavira's name. "Sha'i dans?" she asked, a little worried that because of the other Mishap's energetic nature she enjoyed dancing.
"Oh how lovely, thank you!" Haze smiled graciously, "I'll see to it that we have something to drink and to somewhere to put these cakes on." She headed for a door within the room (it resembled a closet door actually) and opened it to reveal another room.
A simple, nondescript room which Haze disappeared into. Shortly after she returned, "They're on their way." she nodded, "Please, sit down." she gestured to one of the chairs she had brought in just for the occasion.

Seeing her mother and Haze walking further into the room, Shavira decided it would be alright for her too. She trundled closer to Retta, smiling all the while. Plopping herself down in front of Retta, Shavira giggled back at the younger Mishap.
"Dance? Does Shavi dance?" She thought about it for a moment...then shrugged, like her mother often did. "Shavi dunno. Shavi can alwa's try!" She got up again, and attempted to wriggle around, but stopped, laughing. "Retta likes dance?"
KiiMeLwi followed Haze's instruction to sit and plopped herself...carefully...into a chair. "Oh...well, I know what it feels like being new here. A little gift seemed to be well in order..." She shifted her weight and one of her ears twitched. "Spelled door, huh?" She gestured towards the room Haze came back from. "Must be useful." She wondered what kind of character would pop out of the door next, trying not to look too confused.

Retta shook her head at Shavi's question, "E'a no dans." but she seemed pleased that Shavi didn't seem all to fond of dancing. "Sha'i li'e wa'?" she asked, hopefully she had said enough consonants that the older Mishap would understand her question.
"It does have its uses," Haze nodded, "My employee will be with the things shortly." she explained, "You were new to Gaia? Or were you referring to this establishment?" she asked, slightly cocking her head to the side, the feather on her hat fluttering from her movement.

Shavira's head also tilted to the side at Retta's question. "Shavi...Shavi what? Shavi like...what?" She giggled, but looked embarassed. "Shavi sorry. Shavi has bad ears." She stuck a finger in one to prove her point.
KiiMeLwi gave a nervous smile, ears flapping at about the same time Haze's feather fluttered. "Er..I was thinking the Mishaps building...but Gaia too, I suppose. I had to have come here at one point right? I may not have remembered it but...well you understand." She stopped herself from yammering too much, though she knew she wasn't doing a good job of it in the first place, and just nodded. Nodded, and smiled.

Retta blinked, her own ears wiggling as Shavira stuck her finger into her ear. She mimic'ed the older mishap, giggling a bit.
"Sha'i li'e do wa'?" Retta repeated, her brown eyes shining in curiosity.
Haze pursed her lips in thought, "You... had to? Oh, yes, I understand," she nods, "For a moment I misunderstood that as having been forced to go to Gaia." she trilled softly, a hand daintilly covering her mouth. "I'm not from Gaia, either. My real home is Silar, just one of the multitudes of dimensions that many Gaians seem to originate from." she shrugged, "I wouldn't be surprised if you've never heard of Silar."

KiiMeLwi gave a nervous, almost forced chuckle. "Mmm. No, I wasn't forced." She rubbed her hands together, thinking over something. "Well, I'm not going to be shocking you today. I haven't heard of...Silar, was it? I'd tell you where I was from, but I don't exactly know." She shrugged, just as Haze had. "No matter, I suppose. Have you been here long? On Gaia?" She disliked not knowing where she was from, no matter how much she denied it.
Shavira grinned when Retta copied her. She reached out to pet the younger Mishap on the head, as even older Mishaps had done to her. "Retta good girl! Retta nice." She removed her hand before she could mess up her hair any more, and stood with her hands on her hips (without squishing any snakes) to think over Retta's question. "Hmm. Shavi does like to read. Shavi's getting to be good reader. What about Retta?"
A few snakes wrapped themselves around Shavira's arm, tongues ever flickering. Chloris, one of the braver snakes that grew in the front of Shavi and the only one with a name at the present time, leaned closer to the new Mishap. He stared first at her, then glanced at Shavira, questioning.
The toddler looked down at her friend and her grin grew. Addressing Retta again, Shavira introduced him. "Retta, Chloris wanna say hi! Chloris is Chloris. He's a good snake. He's the only one with a name though. But Shavi is getting to name them! And she's gonna do a good job!"

"Just a few months just short of a year." Haze responded, glancing back at the door in impatience. She had expected her employee to have arrived by now. "How about you?" she asked, turning her attention back to her guest.
A knock could be heard coming from the door that connected Retta's room to Haze's. And as the wooden portal swung open, a woman with short red hair entered, pushing a trolley laden with tea, plates and cups.
"Here you are." Huni greeted, placing the trolley before KiiMeLwi and Haze.
Retta giggled as Shavira pet her, and her ears perked up at finding out the older Mishap liked to read!
"Re'a li'e reed!!" she declared, her tail almost wagging. The sheep mishap didn't seem to flinch from Chloris, the snake reminded her of Poe and she liked Poe, automatically assuming all reptiles were friendly.
"Chu-lo-rees?" Retta echoed, stumbling over the syllables. She reached out tentatively to stroke the snake with a finger, trying to figure out where his tail was, or if the other 'heads' were his tails. "Ee'is Chu-lo-rees." she cooed.

"A...hmm" KiiMeLwi had to sit back and think on that one. "A few years, I'd say...oh!" Kii looked up at the red haired woman in surprise. "Ah. How nice...Thank you!" She grinned at both of the women in front of her.
Shavira nodded almost viciously in her excitement. She loved talking about her friends, and introducing them to new people. "Chloris!" She repeated. "Chloris very brave. Chloris is a good friend."
The snake in question leaned into Retta's finger, enjoying all sorts of attention. Shavira could have sworn she heard a sigh, but didn't think more than twice of it. The rest of the snakes, most of them hanging onto Shavira's arm, were probably jealous. Shavi felt, so started to help pet some of their little heads. "Snakes nice...Retta like snakes!" It was more a statement than a question.

"About time, Huni." Haze stated, the severity in her glare betrayed the smile on her face. "Kii, this is my employee, Huni. Who shall be leaving now." she added abruptly.
As Huni was about to respond to KiiMeLwi, she gulped and weakly smiled at the two women before excusing herself.
"Ssssnay'es..." Rette repeated, attempting to pronounce the word. She nodded to Shavira, thinking that snakes were the same as reptiles. "Re'a li'e ssssnay'es! Re'a li'e Sha'i." she declared, her ears wiggling. She inclined her head to the side slightly, trying to look at the other Chloris-es. "Chu-lo-rees?" she asked, pointing to the others.

KiiMeLwi barely got the chance to wave after Huni before she was gone. A bit puzzled, Kii stared after her for an extra moment or two. "Employee?" She hoped she didn't sound too confused. Or rude.
"Aww...thanks Retta! Shavi likes Retta too." Shavira blushed and nodded. "Yes. Very good. Snakes are friends." She was already beginning to feel like the elder Mishap. It was an odd feeling. She was used to having older Mishaps or Mishaps her age as friends. This was the first time she felt like she could teach.
Noticing that Retta thought all the snakes were a 'Chloris', Shavira chuckled and shook her head. "No. Chloris is Chloris." She petted the proper snake on the head. Then Shavira pointed to the others. "Not Chloris. Retta see? Chloris is name. Like....Retta! Or Shavi. Other snakes have no name...yet." She added quickly.

Haze didn't seem offended by Kii's question, "Yes, she works for me, in exchange my brother pays for all her expenses. And mind of course." she smirked, idly pouring herself a cup of tea. "Would you care for some?"
So many words, it was almost difficult for Retta to interpret what her friend was saying. After a few moments where her brows were knit together and the tea-cup attatched to her tail clinked against her crib's bars, she understood.
"Nay-m." she repeated with a nod, "Wai no nay'm?" she asked. Surely if Chloris had a name, there must be a reason why the others didn't have one.

Shavira quickly realized Retta's difficulty and decided to try to talk slower. It seemed to be a habit of hers to speak as much and as quickly as possible. She grinned down and patted Retta's arm. "Hmmm..." Shavira comically placed a chubby hand on her chin and stood, looking overly thoughtful. "Shavi's friend...Osso...he named Chloris. And Shavi didn't think of names for others." She glanced at Retta out of the corner of her eye. "Does Retta want to...to...sug...gest...name?" Well, so much for speaking less. At least it was slower this time around.
"Ah...well...hmm." Kii shook the subject out of her mind and grinned. Being the tea addict that she was, she graciously agreed. "Of course! Thank you."

Effortlessly, Haze poured her guest a cup of tea before moving the cup closer to Kii. "Do you mind if I ask you a question?"
Retta inclined her head slightly to the side as she processed the information Shavira was giving her.
"Re'a nay-m ssssnay'es?" she blinked before eyeing the reptiles other than Chloris. For some reason her attention was drawn by the farthest snake, and with a bright giggle she pointed to it, "Re'a nay-m Leen!"

KiiMeLwi almost had to restrain herself from leaping onto the tea and attacking it as she usually did in the privacy of her and Shavira's own rooms. Taking smaller sips instead of gulps, she nodded to Haze. "No, no of course not. Ask away!" She carefully lowered her hands to her lap. Ah...the power of tea.
The snake now to be called Leen turned his head from a 'conversation' he seemed to be having with his neighboring snake. Leen was a more timid snake, one Shavira had always had been careful with, seeing how he was one at her back and made leaning or lying down difficult.
Leen slid to the front, and closer to Retta. Peering at her with unblinking eyes, he cautiously flickers his tongue in and out. "Leen! Retta gives good names! Good!" She laughed outright and, suddenly feeling her feet get tired of standing, plopped herself down, Leen and the others obviously following suit. "Retta and Leen be friends! Shavi too!"
