Alice crossed her arms as she thought about the matter. Port Towns back at home were always busy and filled with lots of people. She and her father visited every once in a while. If this Emerald City was the largest port town in this strange country, or Oz as Shakir called it, then there was a high chance someone would know how to get Alice back home. Nodding at her own decision, Alice lept off the inn bed and stood in front of Shakir. Placing her fists on her hips, she started speaking in a powerful voice.
"No I don't know where this Emerald City is. But, I would like to go there. And you're the only one I know here, so I demand that you take me there as soon as possible." Sure it was a little rude of Alice to command this kind werecat who had saved her after the Cyclone dropped her to do such a thing. Alice had no other options though, or at least none that she could think of. In her mind, her behavior was perfectly excusable.

Shakir took an involuntary step back, his paw on his dagger hilt and a snarl on his lips. This feline snarl was audible as he spoke. "Continue in that tone, miss, and you won't find yourself in a position to speak at all much longer. These are unsteady times, ye kin?" He turned his back on her and started to leave the inn. "Come on. I need to tell my employer I'm resigning from my position. Meanwhile you can buy vittles and anything else you can think of. It'll be a long journey. Meet back here when you're done." Shakir whispered to the innkeeper as he left to keep an eye on the girl, then left to speak to his employer. A few minutes later he was in audience with the ex-king, and it wasn't going too well. "You're leaving me for a girl?!" "She's lost, and who else is going to help her?" Shakir replied. "But what about the fight with my rebel nephew?" Shakir sighed. "I don't care who wins this fight. Sir, face it, your nephew has full rights to that throne, and you don't." The ex-king spluttered angrily. "How dare-" "I'll be traveling to the Emerald City," Shakir continued. "Don't bother trying to contact me." "I hope you understand," the man spat, "that you won't get any salary from me while you tramp about with a girl." "That's why," Shakir said with exasperation, "I'm leaving your service! Good day." And he stalked away to gather his few belongings, muttering, "First we'll have to take the train to the Chessboard..."

"This is great! Just great!"The White Rabbitmuttered angrily to himself "As if the day couldn't get any worse!" Today was just not his day. First, he is evicted from his rabbit hole and then he is almost trampled by a crowd of people after Cyclone decided to drop a curious object into the town square. "I guess I should go see if the inn keeper has an empty room left," he sighed "It's going to be a long night!" He walked towards the inn unaware of the presence watching him.

[[Glad to have you back!]] Shakir watched without expression as a white rabbit entered the inn where he and Alice were supposed to meet up. Shifting his satchel of belongings on his shoulder, the werecat strolled in after the rabbit. What was a rabbit doing in a munchkin territory? He wasn't part of the fight between the Unicorn and his former employer. And had Alice bought provisions?

Once Shakir had left the inn, Alice sat back down on the bed, and grumbled to herself. Then she stood back up and followed him. Whatever these "unsteady times" were about, wasn't her problem. No one seemed to understand this so far. When Shakir left her off in the village, Alice didn't know what to do. She checked her pockets, but only found lint, an extra button, and a needle with some thread. That was going to get her far... Even if she had money, something gave Alice the feeling that she wouldn't be able to buy anything here with it.
Giving up, Alice moved on back to the inn. Shakir would just have to deal with the fact that he left her no money to buy provisions with. Just as she heard footsteps down the hall, she braced herself, thinking it was the lion again. Instead though she saw a rabbit-like man hop into the inn. Puzzled, Alice peered out into the hallway to see what was going on. Nothing much it seemed, just a flustered boy with rabbit ears. Taking a step out further into the hallway, Alice continued to watch the rabbit. She just hoped he wouldn't notice her staring anytime soon.

Shakir noticed Alice watching the rabbit as well and jogged quickly to her side. "Did you buy the food?" he hissed.

The White Rabbit turned as he felt more eyes looking upon him. Around the corner he spot a purple-haired human and the same werelion he passed on the way in watching him intently. Annoyed by their rudeness, he turned and scowled at them. "Don't you know it rude to stare at someone!" he yelled "What you've never seen a rabbit before!"

"Not in munchkin territory," replied Shakir, who stepped forward. "What're your kind doing in these parts, rabbit?"

I may be Madd, but I'm not crazy... As Angie watched everything unfold in her glass, a thought came to her head. Now she understood why the Witch of Hearts hadn't immediately responded to she request of a demonstration. Usually that woman was on top of every move she made, almost literally. Angie paced back and forward throughout her lab/chambers, piecing together her plans. With a small bag in hand, she packed up some of her more lethal weapons, adding the adjustment to make them actually work, and started toward the door.
It was never locked, but it was guarded. But with everything askew, it wasn't. She eased the door open and slipped out, sliding the door back into place. Angie glided down the hallway, acting as "not guilty" as she could, until she came to the main gate. Almost every guard was there. Looks like I'll have to go out the back way... Near the witch's chambers. Stealth could only go so far now. It took luck to. But she seems to be in the zone today, seeing as she made it out in one piece. No time for craziness today... Off to Munchkin Land I be. And she set forth, knowing that she would be hunted by nightfall.
Oh, wont you have some tea with me?

"That's not of your concern!"The White Rabbit grouched "Now please, take your strange little girlfriend and begone from my presence!" The White Rabbit turned back to face the innkeeper, who apparently while he was distracted, gave his room to another paying customer! "Today just isn't my day!" he grumbled "Now where am I supposed to stay!"

"Begone from your presence?" Shakir repeated, amused. Then his eyes fell on the watch-and-chain that hung across the rabbit's vest. Shakir had once lived within the vicinity of the witch, and had often seen that watch. Shakir drew his dagger and snarled, "You're the witch's rabbit, aren't you? What do you want?" Under his breath to Alice he added, "Get behind me."

The White Rabbit jumped back against the counter as the werelion drew his dagger. "W-Wait a minuet now," he stammered "let's not cause any trouble now!"

"I don't cause trouble," Shakir said testily. "I prevent it. I want to know who you're dragging to the witch this time, and I want to know why. And I want to know what you're doing so far east - what's spread her influence so far already? And Alice, for the last time, get behind me!"

I may be Madd, but I'm not crazy...Angie wandered for hours, having been awhile since she was last outdoors, or free for that matter. What matters doesn't matter to the one called the Hatter. She rhymed in her head as she strolled along a quiet forest road. A clearing became evident up ahead of her. Her pace quickened, she knew now that she had reached munchkin territory. And just in time for the fun. Inside the Inn, there seemed to be a confrontation brewing.
She walked in as stood against the wall, watching the event silently and palming her 9mm handgun. Oh dear me... Alice? She didn't look nearly as tough as she did through the looking glass. Shame. How was she supposed to do anything disruptive if she can't stand up for herself to a rabbit. Rabbit? White rabbit??? What on mars? Well now she understood, and that, in itself, was weird. Oh, wont you have some tea with me?
