"It's magic. Or I t-think it is, anyway." Vanadis wasn't the most stellar source of senshi information, "And I guess." She hadn't been a senshi long enough to figure out that as far as attacks went hers was, well, less attack-y and more defense-ish. Which was good, sure, but not much use for killing bloodthirsty youma.

"I see...well, my best friend's place is just here." Imo gestured towards somewhere all too familiar to Vanadis. The redhead tried a smile but it came out watery and weak. Her expressions were so transparent, they always gave away how Imo felt. She just didn't have it in her to be really cheerful after all that happened.
"Thanks again, Vanadis. And take care, okay?" She caught hold of one of the senshi's gloved hands and gave it a light squeeze. Imo wasn't sure she should hug her again but she felt grateful to Vanadis for both the save and being so kind after.

Oh crap it was, wasn't it? Vanadis stared at the building in slight disbelief - she'd meant to leave a few blocks early, not escort Imo right to her door! Oh bugger, this was what you got for being distracted by comforting your best friend from her encounter with near-death in form of a youma. Or something like that, probably. Likely there was some form of karmic retribution involved, the senshi felt, if not some down and proper wrath.
"I.. you too." She squeezed back somewhat feebly, with a wan smile on her face. Could she make it up to her apartment before Imo? She'd have to hurry, but maybe, if she was really fast.. "I, um, have to g-go now. Do you think you can make it the rest of the way yourself?"
She was already inching away, although as politely as she could. She'd be running the moment Imo gave her the clear - she'd be needing the headstart.

"Sure," She nodded before adding a quick "good night."
Then she was hitching her bag higher on her shoulder and making straight for Aggie's door. No lingering, no looking into shadows or looking back. Vanadis'd be fine, Imo hoped, and probably wouldn't be offended by how she hurried away. It was pretty understandable she'd want to get the hell inside at last.
Once she got to the door she paused only a moment before kicking semi-lightly at it. Hands free knocking. She hated to wake up Aggie, who'd probably have either hit the shower or hit the hay by now...but this was kind of an emergency and Imo knew she wouldn't mind. Too big a heart.
*
Aggie had not, in fact, hit the shower or the hay - she'd barely even managed to get into her apartment before the knock sounded and even super powers wouldn't let her take a shower in the thirty seconds between powering down and Imo's arrival.
"Imo! Hi! I was just, uh, sleeping." She did manage to look a bit rumpled, so it wasn't that far-fetched. Unless you happened to know the truth which Imo, luckily, did not. "A-are you okay? You look.." bad, but that sounded awfully insensitive. "Do you need a place t-to crash?"
She held the door wider in silent invitation and smiled hesitantly. This was all or nothing, but surely Imo would say something if she knew, right?
*
“I...” Imo tried to start explaining but faltered. Was it any wonder she had started to be worried about going out at night? And tonight had totally proved her growing paranoia right. Now if only she could eloquently explain to her dear friend that she'd been right and about what had happened...She held her hands up to show the scorched palms and tried again.
“Therewasamonster-” Or not. She couldn't do it. Imo just let the temporary dam burst and started to cry again. So much for eloquence.
*
Aggie drew Imo into an embrace and made shushing noises the best she knew how to, rubbing the other girl's back in a soothing motion. "There, there, don't worry about it... you're s-safe now." If Imo had been a bit more coherent she might have wondered at the ease with how her friend took the situation, but Aggie wasn't exactly worried about it. Not now, at least, when her first priority was calming down her best friend in the whole wide world and making sure her burns got treated.
After all, isn't that what best friends are for?
