Woodlock Guitarhero356 Lobsel Vith I dunno the Bible does have alot of sex in it so that part isn't entirely untr00. For the bible being so holy there sure is a lot of violence in there. It's almost like watching redneck tv. And I am sure God will appreciate you comparing His righteous judgments to redneck entertainment. Because we all know that God has absolutely no sense of humor. "You dare mock God? Traitor. You will go to hell." - Claudia

You will answer to Him as well. Everyone will.

Everyone will. Why be afraid of a loving God though? Rpeentance is ther for a reason. Because repentance it there I refuse to live my life in fear of punishment. I learned in my first life that demons are good in battle as are angels. Then I got set on fire from a nearby building shortly after. xp Then, I think I killed myself in the next life too though i'm not sure. the only reason I think that was because it was a canoing accident. Then I lived purely hedonistic in my last life where I learned it's not really a bad thing until you let it take over everything else in your life. So, one thing is for sure. I learn something whatever happens, that being the case, I refuse to live this life in fear.

Lobsel Vith landoverbaptist.com 'nuff said. Landover Baptist was a prank church started by some kids at a Christian University from which they were promptly expelled. IT'S NOT REAL. IT WAS A JOKE THAT REALLY ISN'T FUNNY!!!!

so, getting this thread back on topic. Yes, I do believe religion and fanaticism are a bad combination. Fanatics, more often than not, preach about hating people that are different and how they must cleanse the world. It's really not good, because Jesus preached about love and peace. And with Islam, I'm pretty sure Muhammed did the same thing. Anyway, yeah...it's just not a good combination.

Negative would be pressing on people, telling them that they're going to Hell, all such things and refusing to accept new ideas or at least entertain them for a while. Positive would be someone who's found something that they think is right, like helping other people without attaching strings regardless of religion and having found ideals that they are willing to defend. Each side is a fanatic for something with they're own ideas that they believe in, and both have completely different effects.

Yeah, it bugs me. I mean, just because you believe one thing, doesn't meant everyone else does. And that's just common curtosy, and Jesus preached a lot on that.
Plus that turns people off to Christianity even more than they might be.
But then again, it's not just Christians.

That depends on how you define fanaticism though. I mean, to me, fanaticism is when you go around telling people they're going to Hell for, like if they're a woman, wearing pants. Or bombing a gay nightclub, or an abortion center. That's fanaticism to me.
But I don't consider telling people about Christ fanaticism, when I'm not trying to shove it down they're throat, and merely just sharing what I believe with them.

In the Bible I think it says somewhere "in all things moderation." Bashing people over the head and telling them they're going to Hell is a bad approach. The Bible also commands us to love one another.

Guitarhero356 lilacluva05 u mean like a Bible thumper? Yeah, when someone gets so fanatical that they only see the way that they see by reading. What i've noticed is lot of times their heart is in the right place, they just don't see what they're doing as attacking peoples beliefs, Y'know? Yeah, those are a little crazy, but I think Christians should repsect others and try to do things nicely.

I hate it when Christians hate on people because thier sexual prefrences.

Well you haven't really made much of a discussion but for me 'taking it too far' would maybe be when i see people holding signs saying' Thank God for aids' it makes me angry however i'm not sure you can take God too far.
