Mimic noticed the frown that quickly passed across the other Doe's face and her heart plummeted. She wondered what she could have done to offend Streaked Sky but nothing came to mind, though that is not unusual, seeing as not many things came to Mimic's mind. Still feeling woozy Mimic stumbled away from Shadowed Moon, suddenly feeling foolish. Why did you think they would like you? You spent the entire evening trying to eat bugs? They don't want to be your friend, they pity you! Mimic mentally berated herself as she sat down a few feet from the other Kimeti. She shut her mouth hard, figuring she had done enough damage tonight. Maybe if she was silent enough they would discuss something else, and she could try to say something charming or witty this time. Her plan in effect Mimic turned her wide-eyes back to Streaked Sky.

Watching the doe - Mimic, she corrected - stumble away and sit down, she thought that this was the perfect time to get to know the buck!
Turning to him, she asked, "What brings you to this part of the swamp?" She also remembered not to bat her eyelashes anymore, she didn't need Mimic over there to mimi- ohhhh, now that she thought about it, Streaked-Sky understood.
Of course, how couldn't she. She was so beautiful and smart, naturally she would piece those two together so quickly. Mimic would mimic other things. Duh!

Shadowed Moon watched a bit worried as Mimic stumbled away, she did sit down though so she seemed alright. As Streaked-Sky turned to him he smiled at her as she asked him a question. He pondered for a moment before remembering what had brought him here in the first place. "I was sleeping up on the hill yonder and I heard you two talking and then two loud sounds so I came to see what it was."
Smiling at the doe he tilted his head. He had already asked her why she had come, he couldn't really think of anything to ask. Shadowed Moon pondered for a moment, looking lost in thought. He smiled at the doe. "I'm sorry. I've already asked you what brought you here. I can't think of anything to ask." Shadowed Moon looked a little awkward, he normally would have something to ask.

Well, this was getting boring fast and Streaked Sky had things to do and people to see! This buck could hardly even talk to her, but who could blame him when her beauty was so radiant that she probably blinded the stars.
"Well, that's fine I guess. I was just moving through anyway! Places to go, kimeti to see, you know." His look was rather forlorn, but he should have expected it. She needed flash and bang to keep her attention, and neither he nor Mimic really had that.
She gave the buck a flirtations wink, then a laugh to Mimic and she went on her way. It was really for the best, she was sure the swamp had other things for her to do today besides eating fireflies.

Shadowed Moon smiled at Streaked Sky and nodded in farewell, while her exit had been abrupt, every kimeti had their own way. Sighing softly to himself, and making a note to come up with conversation topics later, he glanced down at Mimic. She had gone quiet after she had moved, but had seemed fine. From what he could tell she had found the other doe very interesting. Smiling down at her he chuckled pleasently.
"I guess moth isn't on the menu."
