Even as Shylah worried and Maponus called out for them Divone was weaving her way through the trees towards the trio. She had not expected their arrival - in fact she and the remaining elders had been deep in discussion about what to do when Maponus' voice had rang through the grove. I will go to them - she had told Duska and Alaunus before setting off. It was good to know the two young horses had survived - though where and how they had found and brought a sick foal along with them was beyond her, so many had died and so very few were left to carry on
"We are here" She spoke soothingly as they appeared to her through the tree's "Bring the young creature in and we shall see to him" She stated as she let her eyes drift over the young colt. Why it was Ailis' foal if she wasn't mistaken. "You have given him some herbs?" She asked the two horses taking in the foals slumbering state - it as important to know, it would be bad to overdose the poor sickly creature and beckoning to Shy and Maponus she led them to a place where they could put him down.

Blowing out a sigh as Divone poked her head out of the trees Maponus didn't hesitate in moving forward towards the elder. He still moved slow as to not cause the foal to fall but they had made it. "Yes Shy gave him some herbs." He told Divone as he carefully stepped through the trees. Though he couldn't quite remember how much of the herbs the foal had eaten.
Once in the shelter of the thicker trees Maponus bowed his head to the other two leaders before carefully lowering himself to the ground. With a little help from Shy and Divone the foal was removed from his back. Maponus stayed on the ground, he was exhausted and needed a few moments to rest before he would be able to get back on his feet. He looked at Divone and sighed. "There were no others we could save. His mother was no where around. I'm not sure if she..." He cut the sentence short as the foal moved a bit. He didn't want the colt to hear that his mother may be dead. No that was not something one should wake up to, especially at such a young age.

Shy was so relieved to see Divone appear through the tree's, it was reassuring not only to see another alive - but to know the Elders were still here, she wasn't sure what she would have done if they hadn't been. Shylah couldn't fathom a herd without the spiritual guidance the Elders provided. The Alphas might be the technical leaders of the herd but the Elders kept everything running smoothly and assured the herd didn't anger the Spirits.
Most of the time anyways - one could only assume this disaster was teh result of some sort of disobedience on the herds behalf. Shylah couldn't be sure what that was exactly, but it must have been something important - there was no sense in trying to figure it out now however the punishment had already been set upon them and there was no fixing things now.
"I gave him what we had left" She told the Elder "It wasn't enough for a standard dosing only half...but he is a foal, and I thought even a little might help" She continued as she helped maneuver the colt from Maponus back, giving her mate a soft nuzzle while he rested and explained about the foals mother, her eyes flitting to the colt as he stirred slightly.

Divone nodded slightly as the mare and stallion spoke "You did well" she told them both "And the spirits must be strong with him to have survived as long as he has" She soothed them both. She wasn't sure if the little beast would make it, no one could predict the outcomes of such things but she saw no harm in giving them some hope.
"Rest now" She told them, giving them both a calculating gaze, as though measuring their strength and health. "I must return to the Elders Council, we were in meeting when you arrived about an important matter" She continued in a voice which clearly said they were not welcome to ask questions at this time "I will return later to check on the two of you and will find someone to look after the colt" She concluded before turning about and walking back to the others.

Maponus didn't argue one bit when Divone told him to rest. No, he knew he needed to rest after such a long and hard journey. "We will watch him until you return." He told Divone as the elder walked back into the trees. Shifting his body a bit closer to the colt to give it more warmth and protection he looked up at Shylah. "Come my love, rest. You did well today." His voice was soft, eyes held a sparkle of a smile. Lowering his head he laid it down in the soft powdery snow. A bit of rest would do them all good, they had pushed themselves hard today and he knew if they didn't rest there was a chance they would relapse into sickness. They couldn't afford that now, not after working so hard to get well again.

Shylah watched as Divone walked away, her eyes shifting to Maponus as he urged her to rest. She should she knew..they both should. It had been a long and stressful day and though she was curious about the Elder's meeting she knew it wasn't her place to ask even without the discouragement to do so in Divone's voice. shaking her head a little Shy gave Maponus a warm look as she settled down in the snow before following his example, tucking herself in close to the sickly colt before whispering to Maponus "As did you love..as did you" and letting her eyelids close.
