That could have gone better. Grayson looked confused, Ignacio was confused. He realized he screwed up royally and needed to fix Never but he wasn't quite sure how to. It would take some effort. Grayson was a lazy, stubborn one, Ignacio already knew this. He might have messed it up for them permanently, honestly; Ignacio knew this. He was aware of this. It upset him.

He was doing an okay job at hiding it. His expression looked vaguely hopeful, but he seemed completely lost as his grin at Grayson was just... completely atypical. Usually, he smiled so brightly people could see all his teeth. Now, if anything, he looked like someone had popped his happy bubble and he was making a good attempt at forcing some new happiness on himself.

Maybe he could reason this out. Maybe... maybe he could win against Never, who was no doubt gaining points with that confused smile. Maybe Ignacio really had done himself in, without even knowing it, without even knowing he cared so much.

"Yeah," came the words, not the words he wished to say. "I'll see you in Lit."
