You know, I appreciate that big list and all but I think I'm not going to update with any more artists, except maybe big time ones so I may add C-Lekktor and Modulate.
But the point was to get people to learn about the music and to help them get "into" it. Im pretty sure both of those things are possible with the amount of bands already listed.

Fair enough. A good deal of them were fairly meh anyway, though I do think Mesmer's Eyes is pretty underappreciated.
Had a listen to the track on your MySpace. Liked it. Sounds like something I'd expect to hear in the OST for Devil May Cry.

I was going for an "epic" feel. It was originally supposed to just be an intro, but it somehow turned into a whole song.

I dunno, I just kinda figured the discussion came to an organic conclusion. sweatdrop
I think I've kinda reached a critical mass point as far as EBM/Aggrotech artists go. Plenty of artists I enjoy, but it's a really derivative area of music - it seems to me like there are precious few groups that attempt to really innovate and break the mold. Most seem pretty content with various permutations of oontzing and samples.
As far as electronic music in general goes, I've been listening to lots of dark ambient and minimal techno/trance. Been slowly introducing myself to some powernoise too - I especially like Converter and Imminent Starvation.

Yeah, I've come to that conclusion too, but I still look. Have you heard Cult of Cadavers? They are really catchy, instrumental, and different than most other EBM artists I've heard. And the album is free off their website. I love Powernoise. I should have made this thread about Powernoise aswell....I should just change this thread to "Music that Digi likes that not many others do". But anyways, favorite Powernoise artists at the moment: MonokromFabrikcXotoxImminent Starvation, which you said already. Sonarand Prometheus Burning has also been a favorite of mine.

No, I have not. They strike me as being considerably higher-tempo than most EBM I've heard. Readily danceable, even. Instrumental is definitely a nice change of pace, though.
What I was really hoping for, though, was some sort of EBM or psytrance with folk/ethnic instruments. Something like this. Any tips?
Maybe you should just rename it the Big Electronic Music Thread? Or if that's too general, The Big Post-Industrial Music Thead? And thanks for the powernoise links. Will investigate.

I enjoy the multiple changes in melody that Cult Of Cadavers has, the splice like three different songs into one. Hmm, I can't think of many but: Androcell (Kind of slow, atmospherical Psytrance, often described as Psychill, but I don't think that its a real genre. They use folk/ethnic instrument sounds. Aramazd (Metal with Ethnic/Electronic/"Industrial" influences, I'd suggest looking into them even though its not entirely what you were looking for. Best song 'Beginning of the AR'. Chasing Shadows (I don't know how you feel about Dubstep, but this song is pretty awesome and has ethnic sounds in it.) Thats all I could think of.... I'll think of something.

I just checked out bandcamp, I've never used it before and I have no idea what bands are on it. But apparently Chaos and Terror are on there. Indeed. Cult of Cadavers is fantastic, I really hope they plan on coming out with a second album since their debut is so good.

Bandcamp is nice because you can download debut albums/ lesser known band's EP's for free. So I'll check out the industrial section on Thursday when I can take a breather. But since I'm a newbie to agrrotech..... who would be good to get into?

It all depends on your taste, thats why I have plenty of links of the first page to bands myspaces so people can listen for free. However, I could suggest a few too look for/keep and eye out for on that bandcamp website. Look for: Nurzery Rhymes Die Sektor Alien Vampires Reaver Nachtmahr X-Fusion Noisuf-X (different project of the guy who makes X-Fusion's music but without vocals and little bit more dancy.)
