The announcements next to the flash have been updated!
"How Hit Can Ya Git?!"
That's the goal with this fun winter event! Have a blast beaning your fellow Whuddles with snowballs (just not too hard!) as they're wandering about WhuddleWorld! But that's not where the fun ends with this whacky snowball fight - you WANT to 'git hit!' From now until March 21st (the official end of winter) we'll be tallying up the count and the 50 lucky Whuddles who have been HIT the most will win a shiny new award!! Good luck, have fun and whatever you do - DON'T DUCK!
So there are 50 winners ^^ I will be updating the past events and award topic ASAP.

Brogen Is It Getting Warm In Here Or What? [01/05/06 12:35:14 PM] Snowballs and Smushed Snowballs are going to be melting a bit faster now to help balance the system a bit better. Keep an eye on your examine windows. biggrin

New Feature: Whoodle
We've implemented a new feature that will allow you to search WhuddleWorld for other Whuddles and items!
- A list of Whuddles beginning with the characters you enter into the search box will show up in a list. Clicking on that username will take you to their profile.
- Searching for an item will return an item list. Pick one of those items, click on it, and you can view that item. You can also click on it to see who may be using/wearing that item.

Updates To Events [01/12/06 12:30:19 PM]
Hello Whuddles,
It's time for another WhuddleWorld update. We've noticed a flurry of activity with the recent events and we're happy to see you've been enjoying them. Along with this, however, we've noticed some other activities which we've taken the time out to suppress. Specifically, we've noticed a few users using automated page refreshers to collect large amounts of snowballs. We've turned on some code to disable the effectiveness of these automated refreshers. This is enabled on the current 'How Hit Can You Git' event and it will be enabled on all future events as well. Please be aware that if we notice attempts in the future, this behavior is considered a TOS violation (See Section 4 in the WhuddleWorld TOS), and as such may result in penalties being enacted in the future. Collecting large amounts of snowballs through normal usage of the site is acceptable. Using automated processes is not.
The good news is that along with these updates to the 'How Hit Can You Git' event are a couple other tweaks which should make the snowball event a tad more interesting again. It's up to you to discover the tweaks. We're still moving forward with other releases in the coming weeks and months that have been highly anticipated, so stick around and don't miss out on the fun!

January 12th, 2006 [01/12/06 12:34:27 PM] Snowball Event Changes - Addressed the problem of automatic refreshers by removing the ability to refresh and gain snowballs. - Finding a snowball now requires interaction with the worldmap. The best possible way to get a snowball is to walk (click from one page to another) away from the worldmap for awhile. - A "'How Hit Can Ya Git' Top 10" list was added to tally the top ten people in two categories. ~ Elder Sarukie ~

Confusion on Rules [01/15/06 06:24:15 PM]
Hello Everyone,
It's been brought to my attention that there is some concern about the rules here on WW. Some may be unclear, others are saying they're afraid that just about anything they say or do will get them in trouble, etc...
Let me address a couple things...
1. It's perfectly okay to talk about anything on WhuddleWorld, with the exception of a few things we reference in our TOS. And those things that aren't allowed should be fairly common sense even without the TOS spelling them out. It's a community - things you say have to be okay with our whole community - not just one or a few people. We call this politeness and respect for others! Makes sense, right?!
2. The Elders (and very soon Guides) are the ONLY rule makers and monitors on WhuddleWorld. While we appreciate and welcome all of your efforts to help us keep WhuddleWorld a fun and safe community, the best course of action if you see something you think is a problem, is to use the 'Report' option or the 'Contact Form' to let us know.
Just because you report someone or some content you're concerned with doesn't mean that person will be banned, etc. We provide the 'Report ' buttons and the Contact Form as tools to help you help us keep an eye on things, and to give you a way to let us know if you or someone else is having a problem here on WhuddleWorld.
3. We've noticed a lot of personal interpretation of the newly updated TOS Rules. Here again, while we appreciate all our citizens attempts to help us keep our community fun, some of you are getting nervous about things you don't need to.
If you're not sure something is breaking a rule, ASK us. We don't bite! If you think you see something that isn't OK on WhuddleWorld, let us know and let us worry about determining whether or not it is.
WhuddleWorld is FUN! It's just necessary to have some rules that keep it that way for everyone...so relax, take a deep breath...and STOP COVERING your beloved Elders with all those darn snowballs!

Well, we are in no way of trouble for the wings image and are even allowed to keep it there, if anything. Quoting Lyrael, I have bolded parts I find extra important to us. Now, that being said, let me address the rest of discussion. If an individual is concerned about something or takes issue with something occuring on WhuddleWorld, it is perfectly acceptable for them to post that either here to us, or in an Email to us via the 'Contact Form'. Anyone should feel comfortable at any time expressing an opinion, concern or question about any subject they'd like the Elders or Guides to be aware of and/or respond to. As for our stance on "Secret Items" being displayed elsewhere - the rules of the TOS apply. We can't possibly monitor every single link or image someone might "take" off of WhuddleWorld to display elsewhere, nor are we interested in doing so. As long as appropriate credit as discussed in the TOS is supplied wherever a WhuddleWorld image is being displayed then the individual or individuals involved are in compliance with our TOS.As to the spirit of displaying a discovered item such as the wings - technically this is much like discovering a bug. The most approriate course of action would have been to use the 'Contact Form' to make us aware of the image and ASK if it was appropriate to share that information elsewhere. (We'll be updating the TOS to reflect this in the near future) After reading everything that has been said I'm inclined to see that no real harm was intended by any of the parties involved and would like to call the matter closed.
