Hiya all. I sing Soprano, Sop.1, and Sop.2 in 3 chiors at my school. (But I have Contralto Envy, big time!) I sing in Chamber Singers (A Capella), Honor Chior (Madrigals), and Bel Canto (Women's Chorus). This means I'm in our Chior Department for eek 3 1/2 hours in a row!! OMG! LMAO... I'm a real nerd. I'm even already working with the local college's music department, because I'm going to major in music. I'm the Student Leader (in charge of sectionals) in HC and Bels - there are only 10 people in CS, so we're all leaders. I also found out today that when we go to KMEA Contest, I am one of four sopranos on the solo part! OMG! I guess all that coming in early and the voice lessons came in handy, huh? Quote: Aria: major-diva sopranos are pretty typical. Oh dear... and I probably sound like one too... redface I'm not trying to be... lmao... razz It just kind of happens. And like I said, I'd really rather be a Contralto. *I heart my lower range!*

There are just a few people in my choir that don't think that they need to come to sectionals, or to class every day for that matter because they're just that good... they're the ones that get on my nerves. And on particular soprano diva who thinks she's singing an operatic solo all the time... that gets old. But I have nothing wrong with sopranos in general, heh, a lot of my friends are sopranos, got no problem with them, just the ones that seem to think that "Chamber Singers" is a code name for "May and Company", or something to that extent.

LMAO, yeah. Those people kill me too. "May and Company" Oh that's cute. Yeah, I love everyone in my chior. It wouldn't be chior without all the other people. It would be a solo. And, erm... it only takes one to do a solo, not 67 (Honor Chior). If it's a solo for me, there's no point in the other 66 being there. Since they are, hence, no solo for me. razz But that's just my way of thinking, don't mind me. sweatdrop

I've been a bass since a year now. I sometimes wish I turned out to be a tenor, seeing how I was one of the first ones in my choir to have their voice change, and I couldn't sing high.

Yeah, being a tenor pretty much ensures that you get into a choir. There aren't enough of them.
We had, like, 4 guys singing tenor... and a few girls jumped down. Mind you, only two of the guys were actual tenors. ._.;

im a soprano hardcore. and yeah, sopranos SUCK. i have no problem admitting it because they dont know what to freaking do if they dont have the melody. the reason i can say this too is because im a sporano 2 and have to work really hard on the inner voicing... soprano 1s are cop-outs on real singing... i used to be one. still have the range for it, but when we select music for our choir, our sopranos refuse to sing anything thats too hard for them.
god i hate that choir... thank goodness that im in 2 other brilliant ones (where i sing soprano 1, teehee).

wow i'm really late on this post but still... lol im an alto II and i am uber jealous of the basses... lol i could probably even be a tenor I or tenor II if i wanted to... lol im like a man or something i swear. but yeah - our sopranos are quite... sucky sometimes... they complain about high F's but um if ur a soprano I, you shouldn't be complaining about that - especially if ur in the highest choir in the school. (which we are) lol so yeah. im rather nervous about next year though, cuz ill be the only senior in the alto section, and ill be the only alto II left who can actually sing alto II. the other girl thats w/me was put as an alto II simply because our director needed the balance and had to have another alto II. she really should be an alto I... well - in truth, she probably shouldnt even be in chorale... i <3 the girl but the truth hurts my dears.... <3 sorry if i sound harsh... im very protective of chorale and mads and i just dont want certain people gettin in... wow im a horrible person... redface

I'm an alto II in our A Cappella choir and I love singing the harmony part unlike most of my fellow altos.

I'm a soprano- Sometimes I don't like it, and wish I could be an alto, but I have trouble getting off the Soprano part, though, and our choir teacher refuses to let me switch... gonk
I actually love singing descants. They sound so pretty in the soprano part, in my opinion. Sadly, a lot of sopranos can't get it right (at least in my choir).
