Melethia entered the castle, shivering like crazy. As I have stated like 5 times in the last month, she's not a fan of the cold. She did her best to warm herself up. She was wearing a black sparkly dress, a black shawl, small black gloves, and black heels. Now, this was nice and all but, this wasn't her idea to be wearing this, someone made her wear this. Her hair was down, but that was her own idea. She was mad. Sparkles weren't her thing and neither were heels. She felt out of her element.
"I'm going to kill him," She mummbled, "After this party is done I'm going to kill him for making me wear this." Melethia entered the party. She looked around at the decorations a bit. Then the smell of alcohol entered her nose.
"Nice, he did manage to get this going!" Melethia said with a grin, "Thank you FD!" She started to make her way to the bar by following the smell of alcohol. She was going to get her drinks one way or another. She made her way to the bar.
"Hey can I get some of the good stuff?" She asked.

Leon had taken some time to actually put on formal wear. It was a miracle to anyone who knew him, since he hadn't bothered to go to a tailor since living in Eyris. However, there was something that came over the Lieutenant: a desire to look his finest, handed down graciously from his noble upbringing he had as a child. When one was given luxury, they were expected to flaunt it.
Now, a Watchman's salary wasn't what one would like to call 'luxury', but it was better than a lot of the other jobs in Eyris. Leon could afford to look at least halfway decent, so, by the great Hero Anri, he was going to try. He was careful when he got upon his steed (whom didn't look quite so bad himself with a brand new saddle Leon received from one of the Constables as a present), he didn't want to get his formal wear damaged. While he had his same old boots on, they were much shinier and clean than usual. They actually looked like boots, instead of two muddy... things that went over a man's feet.
He slowed his steed, Anri when he heard familiar voices up ahead. Were they who he thought they were? Yes. Captain Ghis, and his two subordinates, Charice (whom Leon was quite fond of), and Javert. Charice, as always was trying to get Ghis to change, and in this case, quite literally. If Leon knew anything though, it's that a man will wear (or believe) whatever he wants to. There was no changing him, unless he decided it himself. "Oy, Charice. Go easy on Cap'n Ghis, will ya? I think this'll be the first time we've had a real party if ya catch my drift, he ain't used to goin' places without his armor!" He grinned, shifting his gaze to the Captain on the spot. "Why, I'm sure if ya just borrow a bit o' my armor polish, sir, ya won't look half bad. Oh, shavin' might be a good idea too." There were so many greetings for Sue to make all at once now. It looked like the slow party (as it started) was picking up, with more and more guests showing themselves and having a merry time with one another. There was General Roy... and then... another swordsman that greeted her? He said his name was Joshua, and he wanted to ask her something, but the nervous feeling that gave the nomad was quickly erased with Zairam, another swordsman pulled Joshua aside.
It was still polite to answer the Jehanna Swordmaster though. "Ah, I do remember seeing you, Joshua. My name is Sue. I'm a member of the Host Club, and the crewmember, Rath's daughter." she said formally.

The swordmaster heard Sues answear and began to adress both Ziriam and Sue, " Oh? You know my name. Well that sure makes thing easier.... You're a nomad right? You can use a bow? Uh.... you want to make a quick bet?" The coin he had tossed earlier was in his hand but before he tossed it he asnweared the other swordsman, "A duel? Sure! .... but ya lets wait a bit.... I like the anticaption.... course just a duel on its own is never fun.... whats say that if I win you owe me a favor?"
He didn't know who Rath was or how high up in the crew he was and figured it didn't matter, idely he began turning the coin over in his knuckles in a slow hipnotic way.
Joshua was wearing a jacket much like the one he always wore... but today instead of short sleeves they reached all the way down to his hands, he didn't want to bandage his arms when he was going to a party and at the same time didn't want anyone to see the scars he gained ten years ago, so short sleeves it was. The ring on his left hand was also diffeerent from normal, rather then just a regular gold band it was Jehannas signet ring and had the royal family crest etched into it. Being a country that vauled particality over flashyness the crest had only been etched into a gold band, he didn't think his cover would be blown by wearing it as everyone he knew in Magvel already knew who he was and only someone from that continant would be able to pinpoint what it ment. To everyone else it was simply a fancy ring that a gambler must have won somewhere.

Anticipation? That certainly wasn't a response Ziaram had expected, yet there was no problem with the fact that Joshua accepted the duel in the end. That was excellent in Ziaram's mind, which meant more training. However, he was feeling a little off balanced with the idea of owing him a favor if he lost. "All right...although if I win...ehh the duel would be worth it, so you would not owe me anything. I look forward to that day we duel."

I've been blessed with the gifts of the gifts of the Lady Saint, so show me some respect! It's not every day you find a rarity like me.₪Victoria₪ The Bishop was at least being considered for her holy services when it came to the union of Nils and her new fiery friend. It was nice that she was thought of, and that Victoria had settled into Eyris as her home quite smoothly. When people moved and wandered, some could only hope for fitting in and doing right by their new friends and neighbors. That hope had come true for Victoria, and she felt that this year and the next would be blessed by the great Lady Saint's Light.
She was asked by the Fire Dragon if she wanted to have a drink. By the looks of it, there were a lot of very good ones that were brought here. Victoria was having trouble deciding which one of the many martinis were lined up was perfect, but she knew she definitely wanted one after the day she had in the clinic, fixing up the injuries of the reckless new Guard recruits that they obtained during training. Sure, the holy men and women were supposed to be pious, but a little drink or two could be forgiven with one prayer.
"I'll have whatever the best martini is." she finally said. Only the best would do in order to wash away the stress of her everyday work. While her duty was one she took pride in, that didn't mean that it was all smiles and joy.ΘжElmine's LightжΘ If you are my ally, fear not, for healing is on your way! If you're my enemy, you'll be purged, and dead you shall stay.

Rhys frowned, taking in what Rath said. Shoot, that's bad timing, we'd just before left for Estarcia, and... Well, as much as he disliked not being useful, the problem had been deftly handled, as evidenced by lack of escaped convicts and overall chaos that was wont to plague Eyris. No sense in worrying about what had already been fixed. Certainly not in this atmosphere.
"You have a point," Rhys said, appreciating Rath's point on the concept of overworking. "I don't think I've ever felt that way, either," he added, taking it to mean that Rath was doing just fine in that department. And that was about as far as he got before Lyre and Lethe arrived, one looking more cheerful and far less barefoot than the other. "Oh! Lyre, Lethe, hello there! It's nice to see you both," he added. Lethe was a new arrival, but his past history allowed him to know Lethe better than he'd known her sister--at least, until Lyre arrived first in Learania by a large temporal margin.
"Lyre!" Amelia stepped forward to give her friend a hug. "You made it!"
She turned her head to Lyre. "Lethe, is it? It's nice to meet you." She happened to glance down towards Lethe's hand, still holding the shoes. It reminded her of the first few attempts she'd made towards wearing high heels, herself--Honestly, how DO women wear these, she'd at first mused--but one got used to the new shoes after a little while. Every so often, she enjoyed looking her best. "So, are you both enjoying yourselves so far?"

It had appeared for the time being that Javert and Charice had prevailed in turning back Ghis when who should appear but Leon! Ghis exhaled a sigh of relief: He was saved. Besides, his primary concern was the bar said to be inside, not dancing.
"Yeah, wha' he said," Ghis said, taking the initiative before his opposition could rally. "When's th' las' time we were at a party? Ne'er, tha's when!"
"...From where I'm standing," Charice said, taking in Leon's classy attire and manliness with interest, "Leon and I have both been in one just a few months ago, and--"
"Details, details," Ghis said, taking full advantage of her loss of resolve. "Now look. There's a bar i' there somewhere, an' ah aim tae find it! Let's move!"
Javert had been likewise inclined to stop Ghis, really. It's just that now the tide had turned from two opposed, one in favor to two in favor, one still opposed, and the last one not entirely in favor but more in the party spirit of "Carpe Diem", thanks to the Lieutenant's timely arrival.
He shrugged. Sometimes, you took the loss, no?
"Carpe Diem, I guess," he said, secretly pleased to be using words that sounded fancy and intellectual. "Plus the party's already going on without us. Shall we head in?"
He turned toward the entrance as Ghis added, "Arrrmor polish? Ye brought some? ...'Cuz that might help mah case, act'ully, an'..."

Charice had been taken by Leon's natural charms, and unlike many others whom were his age, he wasn't oblivious to it. If it was one thing that he knew how to do, it was making a lady smile. No one knew where he got his charisma, and some even doubted (sometimes) if he was real. It wasn't any sort of secret: just the sort of knight's chivalry Leon had within him since he could remember. Somehow, knighthood was more of an instinct than a learned art, something Leon just knew he'd be for the rest of his life.
And he liked it that way. Everybody had their secrets. Everyone had a darkness in them that they wouldn't dare share with others, but this was the simple fact of human nature. Secrets were there to keep a person sane, they didn't feel right giving it all away. They were a sort of 'shield' from the rest of the outside. If someone were to try and slander a person, they could be comforted and know that at least they have one thing to keep as their own.
But tonight wasn't about the secrets. Tonight was about sharing hopes and dreams for the future, as well as the pitfalls and sorrows of the past. It was a night to come together, as one, as Eyris City, and promise to make things better. Most of all, it was to keep that promise too.
When Javert said the words "Carpe Diem", he just had to grin and be proud of them. They understood just as well as he did what a new year could bring to anyone. Maybe there would be change, and maybe it would be good. "Lemme just tie up Anri here..." he said to all three of them, dismounting (again, carefully!) and making sure the steed was nice and secure. When he'd at last pondered the question of whether or not he had the Armor polish, he reached into his pocket, and... there it was. "Looks like I got some afterall, sir!" he smiled at Captain Ghis, again, that natural charm radiating from him like a dozen cheerful sun rays. "Ol' habits die hard don't they? Dun' use it all. I'll leave it to ya though. I'm... goin' ahead."
And he was off. What was he doing, aiding Dan's rival in the Watch anyhow? Wait... tonight wasn't about their rivalries either! Besides, ever so slowly, the feuding between squads had become at first grudging, but then mutual respect. The many crises of Learania had brought the Watch together in a way like never before, and for that, Leon was grateful. When he finally did step through into the doors of the beautifully decorated Eyris Castle, the one the Guard kept so safe and standing tall, he waved fondly to all he saw. Moments like these made the terrible pitfalls of Watch duty all worth it. He was one of those who kept these happy citizens with smiles on their faces, and for that, he was proud.

Drinks! FD wanted ‘em, Mel wanted ‘em, even the Bishop Victoria, a holy woman, wanted ‘em! Better yet, more and more people were arriving at the celebration! Before he knew it, Roy had come from behind FD and Nils to greet the pair. “Just managing the bar, Nephew!” he told the young lord. While Nils and he might not be married yet, Roy already called FD Uncle, and FD called Roy Nephew. There was so much irony in them becoming relatives when you considered that the Lord’s parents had almost killed FD, but they didn’t have many others around to call family. “You want a drink, Roy, my boy?”
As he offered his nephew the drink, Victoria requested a martini whilst Mel arrived, in search of the best goods they had. “This should satisfy you then, he told the Bishop, handing her a lavender martini. Strong stuff, fruity flavor – you’re gonna love it.” The Dragon then turned his attention to Melethia. “Mel! What exactly are you looking for, my friend? We’ve got it soft, we’ve got it hard, we’ve got it strong. You want Vodka, Scotch, Ale, Beer, Whiskey, a martini? You name it we’ve got it!” he told his fellow dragon, loading his own glass up again to down in one drink just afterwards.

"Ah nice to see you my drinking buddy." Melethia said to FD. "I'm glad you got my request letter and got this going. It wasn't going to be as fun with out the drinks. Oh but it looks like you started already." She grinned a bit. "I need some good Vodka. I was forced to wear this stupid outfit and I would like to just forget that I'm wearing it." She then turned her head to see Roy.
"Oh hi there Spitfire!" She said. "How are you doing? Care to join me for a drink? My treat." She said. She really liked the red haired lord. She wanted to have fun with him tonight, more than having drinks with FD. Though she wouldn't mind if she had drinks with both Roy and FD.

"A drink sounds good, Uncle FD." said the young lord, taking a seat at the bar. "As for what drink...I dunno. Surprise me."
Screw the legal drinking age. It was a New Year. It was a party. He had (semi-) responsible relatives with him. Dammit, he was going to drink!
He looked over at Mel and smiled. She had offered him a drink.
"Sure, I'll join you for a drink, Mel."

Laughing at the way it seemed Roy was going to be stubborn about getting a drink, Ziaram then said, "It's great to see ya Roy, before you were immersed from all the drinks and socializing. How have you been since we last saw each other?" A party was a great time for drinks, and they were being served...he was not sure how he had missed that, and he figured he would go get one later. Besides, it was the New Years...it was a time for festivities. No wonder no one would yell at anyone if they drank anything.

(( Screw my posting formats, a little girl is coming in this post. ))
Nils' face brightened even more (if that was even possible) upon seeing his Nephew. The only one missing now from his family was his sister, Ninian. There's no need for me to worry about that, though... She can come if she wants to. He gave Roy a slight nod. "Just stayin' with Hikaru. I haven't been yelled at to go anywhere else yet, so..." He shrugged his shoulders, a slightly mischievous grin on his face. "I figured, why not stay here?" The bard's eyes flickered towards FD before turning back to his Nephew. "If I'm needed elsewhere, they'd find me."
He not-too-subtly glared at the young lord; someone had to be the parental cop for Roy, and since Ninian was absent, the job was passed on to Nils. "Aren't you a bit... I don't know... young to be drinking?" His eyebrow raised. "I wonder if your mother would like to hear that her son was drinking..."
---
"It's so pretty! Aki, Aki, come on, come on!" A young, overly excited girl exclaimed, practically dragging her unfortunate chaperone around the room. Her gloved hands were wrapped around her companion's hands, tugging insistently. "Stop being so slow!!"
"I-I'm going as fast as I can, Amara...!" The chaperone, none other Amara's uncle, Akihi Kaua, complained. "Y-you need to slow down a bit so you don't get--"
The mage's sentence was left unfinished as the little girl ran off, leaving him behind. "Amara...!" He groaned to himself, shaking his head slowly; she was already too far away to hear her uncle's cries. "... And this is what Alihi has to deal with every day...?"
Meanwhile, Amara found herself wandering around, accidentally bumping into Sue. "I-I'm so--" She began to look up at the person as she spoke; her eyes widened as she realized who it was. The apology stopped short as she let out an excited squeal. "Sue!!" She hugged the green-haired girl tightly, giggling to herself. There was no room for Sue to protest this sudden hug; Amara wouldn't let go even if Sue did!

"It's a nice dress Mel," FD told Melethia in an attempt to make her feel better about wearing it, "but all the same," he added, preparing their best vodka for her, "drink up!" To that, FD took a big gulp of his own drink and then prepared another vodka for Roy as well, the same as Mel was drinking since they were going to drink together, albeit slightly watered down for the young Lord. Both he and Mel could go much further with their alcohol then a still-growing boy-Roy could (especially when you considered how old the two dragons actually were). And all the same, even slightly watered down, it would have a drinking virgin feeling like they never had before. "Here you go, nephew. I'm sure you'll enjoy," he told the lord with a wink. He set out a few random drinks for other guests to grab and go as well. And by this point, he'd had enough that it was only a matter of time before his own comsuption habit manifested itself.

I shall now demonstrate the law of Sacae... all our tribesman banding together against our invaders!~)Sue(~ And so Sue was about to answer Joshua's offer about a duel, when she was... hugged. Amara surprised the nomad girl like she surprised everyone else, always beaming full of energy and making happiness abounds. The young tribeswoman couldn't help but let a little bit of Amara's excitement rub off on her, and she laughed heartily. "Why hello there, Amara! It's really good to see you!" She knelt down to be more on the redhead's level. "So, how has your mother been doing? I bet her mind is as brilliant as ever!"
She looked up, and then between the redheaded swordmaster and the child. "Oh, I need to introduce you now. Amara, this is Joshua, he's a swordmaster..." she begun, and then she gestured the opposite. "And Joshua, this is Amara, the daughter of the Tactician Alihi." She backed away, hoping for the two to exchange a handshake, or even... another hug from Amara. She was so adorable and easy to talk to, who wouldn't want to be hugged by her? ~)Nomad Trooper(~ You who harm the defenseless will pay at the ends of >>-arrows-> and 0=|IswordsI>

"So this is the girl that is so sweet that you can't resist her? It sure is great to see that even one like her can retain a smile." Ziaram did what he could to avoid the subject of what had recently happened, although he hadn't met Amara yet, so he still had to introduce himself. Although at the moment, it was that she was busy hugging Sue, which was adorable watching it come, and then it had made Sue get a bit sidetracked, since Joshua had just said something about a duel with Sue. Sure seemed like he was going for a busy schedule.
