History: Bartholomew Fatima, nicknamed Bart, is leader of a group of sand pirates who ravage the desert in their sand cruiser, the Yggdrasil. He is really the Crown Prince of The Fatima Dynasty. He receives much support from his men, but he tends to shoot anything that moves, and can cause grief for his comrades. Bart's eye patch isn't for show, he lost his eye when trying to aid in the repairs to the Yggdrasil. Sigurd, his fellow comrade and retainer, saved him from greater harm, but also lost his other eye in the process.

History: Sigurd was born in the remote Aveh province of Norn, to Shalimar Harcourt and Edbart Fatima. He is the product of an affair between the two, and while his mother made sure he knew exactly who his family was, he was kept in Norn to protect both Sigurd and his father. It looks like he had a huge family on his mother's side. But when he was eleven, his mother sent him to Bledavik to work in the palace, and made him promise not to reveal his identity to the king. She died after he left, but he kept his vow. Edbart seemed to know the truth, but never said anything.
When he was thirteen, Sigurd was kidnapped and taken up to Solaris as a sample, presumably a representative of Norn. He and Midori are the only characters in the game with extra-sensory abilities (that we know about). He was in the labs two years, but when he was fifteen, they handed him over to Jugend freshly brainwashed and ready to be trained.
At Jugend, Sigurd was a cadet along with Kahran Ramsus, Miang Hawwa, Hyuga Ricdeau (Citan Uzuki) (his roommate and best friend), Jessiah "Jesse" Black, and Isaac Stein (Bishop Stone). He was also an honor student, and when he graduated he joined Jesiah's new group and became the Fire Element.
A year later Solaris's brainwashing finally wore off, and Sigurd planned to return home. Ramsus wasn't keeping the promises Sigurd thought he had made, and it's possible he also heard about Shakhan's coup in Aveh - which would have been the final straw. Despite being an outsider with his own family in Bledavik, he was very loyal to them. He left Ramsus and the others behind, and arrived in Aveh in time to help Maison rescue Bart from Shakhan.
From that point forward, Sigurd dedicated his life to protecting Bart, teaching the young prince what he would need to know to rule. His intention was to restore Bart to the throne someday. He keeps his past and his identity a secret from Bart, but his loyalty is unquestionable.
Sig and Bart both lost one eye in an accident on the Yggdrasil a few years ago. He also acts as the right-hand man to Bart Fatima aboard the Yggdrasil.

When he was not being raped, Legato was developing his powers, hoping that he might be able to take revenge against his master. His master discovered what he was planning and prepared to kill him. Before he could, the whole town was incinerated by Knives's Angel Arm. Knives accidently misses Legato and saves his life. Legato, seeing Knives as his savior, crawled over to Knives and begged him to allow him to stay by his side. Legato even allowed Knives to cut his neck as a sign of loyalty. Knives asked the boy his name and he replied that he doesn't have one. Knives named him Legato Bluesummers, due to his naturally blue hair, and then cut his hair with his blade, symbolizing him leaving his life as a sex slave behind.

Personality: Soren is typically rude and cold, preferring to be alone and as a result is described as high-strung. History: Soren was not raised by his parents, but by an old woman who insulted him often. At a very young age, the lady sold him to an old sage who mistook him for a Spirit Charmer due to the permanent mark on his forehead. The sage taught him the ways of magic, even though he discovered that the symbol was deceitful; it was the mark of a Branded, not a Spirit Charmer. (Soren was to learn this during his later studies at the Mainal Cathedral.) Nonetheless, he continued only because he was nearing death. After the sage died, Soren, ignored by the laguz and beorc, wandered Gallia alone and near-death before eventually being discovered by a young Ike. It is revealed that he, and not Pelleas, is Almedha's son; this means that Soren is Ashnard's son and is therefore the true Prince not only of Daein but also of Goldoa since his mother was Almedha and her older brother, his uncle Rajaion, was killed. Perhaps anticipating the political turmoil such a revelation would cause, Almedha decides not to tell him. Soren is the rightful heir to the Daein and Goldoa thrones after Dheginsea dies.
