~* Evil Wolf*~(( O.o Oh s**t! )) Evil looks with astonishment as Xeion's body begins to get cold, and then breaks down. There's no way he could die from a few scratches on his back...She whined looking around in terror at the light that surrounded her. Tears began to well up in her crazy looking eyes and her fur was fluffed up and wild looking. The tears coming from her blood red did indeed have a reddish tint to them, as if she was crying blood from the one only. She sat back on her haunches hard and began to frantically try and grab at the light, attempting to make him whole again. Xeion! No-Don't! Not another one! She wailed, her whole body shuddering as the light warmed her. Despite that, she felt cold. For perhaps the third time in her life she felt terribly, terribly cold. The first had been when her family was killed in front of her, the second when she had died and her soul had fled her mortal body. She wrapped her arms around her, cradling herself as more wet, steaming tears plopped onto the ground. Her hunger was forgotten and she no longer cared. Xeion had been her friend and she had just...killed him. She had seen death so many times before, countless times on the battle field that she had thought she had steeled herself against it, but she was wrong, very very wrong. Xeion...Please... She whimpered, not trying to stop a low, soft howl from her lips, showing her sorrow and pain. ~*Commander-General of the Sereitei, Captain of Squad 10*~

The process sped up until the figure on the ground completely vanished, leaving no trace that it had ever existed in this dimension. What's left of it, however, were the spirit particles that were used to give the figure a solid form and make it visible to everyone there; and those particles were now going towards Evie-chan and going inside her body, giving Evie-chan a boost in energy that wasn't quite anything she would expect wherein the feeling that the process invoked was similar to that of gastronomic satisfaction after eating an entire buffet table's worth of food. Even in its disappearance, it seemed as if the spirit particles of the person to which they once belonged to shared his sentiments on helping other people even until the end. Then, after all of the particles were absorbed into Evie-chan's body, satisfying her once insatiable hunger, the forest once again grew dark.
For a few minutes, silence enveloped the area like a gentle cloak, lulling a person to sleep. It provided a certain air of calm that would peacefully caress a wounded soul and give it respite from whatever it is that is ailing them. Then, a voice echoed from within the woods, asking Evie-chan something which only she could answer herself.
"How does it feel? I do hope that your hunger was satisfied with that little meal. However, I would recommend that you turn back into your human form unless you want to see your bloodstained body that did all that."

~* Evil Wolf*~Evil whimpered when the particles suddenly went into her body, making her feel full. She grunted, having not expected this and rocked back on her paws, staring at her belly wildly. She shuddered, holding herself and rocking forward, her ears flattened. She did feel the energy boost, but it brought her no satisfaction, even as her belly gurgled happily at this sudden full feeling. She gagged a little, trying not to vomit as she clapped a paw over her mouth, whimpering. Whenever she had gotten to the point where she'd likely starve to death if she didn't eat something, or someone, she wasn't really her but just a hungry animal. She'd never been consciously herself when she'd done things like so, so it raked her mind at the horror of 'eating' one of her friends, even if she had tried to seal the area off. When the voice spoke to her she nearly jumped out of her skin, falling forward before catching herself. She shivered again at the words that were spoken, and didn't reply to them. She was tired, very tired, and ti dragged on her. She thought dimly she was going into some form of shock, and she was too weary to deny the voice's request. She reverted to her human form, still covered in blood despite the transformation. Now she was collarless though and absentmindedly she thought she was naked, even though she was still in her Captain's robes and cloaks. She didn't acknowledge the voice further, dismissing it as her inner conscience or something. She leaned against a tree and hugged her knees against her chest, burying her head against them, refusing to look up and see the world where she could have eaten one of her closest friends. Even in her human form she could whine, and she did softly, pressing her head harder against her knees as she closed her eyes tight. ~*Commander-General of the Sereitei, Captain of Squad 10*~

While Evie-chan slipped into her own world, filled with remorse for what she thought she had done, a small pair of hands placed themselves on her shoulder and slowly moved their way up to the captain-commander's neck. Then, as they reached her neck, they clasped together and opened up, revealing Evie-chan's torn collar. The hands then moved quickly, tying the collar around her neck before the right hand, upon finishing tying the leather collar around Evie-chan's neck, touched the collar with its pointer finger.
"Come on then, remember what you looked like before. What shape were you before? How rich was your leather exterior? How much did you think your bearer loved you?" a familiar voice asked, although it was not directed at Evie-chan, but rather, to her collar; but after that simple conversation, the once broken collar shone with bright light until it finally rematerialized back to its normal self without any sign of it being ever damaged. In fact, it now looked brand new as if it had just been recently purchased. Such was the power of Cosmic Energy.
The hands retracted back into the darkness before a familiar figure walked out of the darkness behind Evie-chan and patter her on the head. "Just one minute," Xeion said before he started to explain everything that had just happened. "Trapping you in my illusion for one minute was the only thing I could think of to shock you back to your old self and re-energize you, Evie-chan. I'm sorry if I made you cry."
Wrapping his hands around her, Xeion placed his chin on Evie-chan's shoulder and gently held her body a little bit tighter as if to say sorry even more. "It would have been hard to hug you like this if you were in your wolf form, Evie-chan. I like this human form a bit more since it's much easier to hug you like this," Xeion whispered and then stayed silent, awaiting Evie-chan's response.

Evil's muscles went taut when she felt hands around her neck, then the jingle of her familiar bell on her collar that had rested against her flesh for so many years. Her throat worked and for a moment she was scared to look up, thinking it must have been an illusion or some sort of mind trick being played on her. There was no way he could be alive, not after what she had seen. She made a strangled sort of sound, then looked up, her eyes wide and expecting for no one to be there. But there was. Xeion was there. "Oh Xeion!" She gasped, flinging her arms around him and returning his hug, with a much stronger one of her own. She clutched him tightly, rubbing him all over his back and head to make sure he was real and corporal. She swallowed again, tears brimming in her eyes. For the moment she couldn't say anything else, she just took him in, alive and intact, not maimed and dead as she had just seen him.
Then, in one of the most stereotypical feminine moves, she grew angry. Her shoulders muscles tensed and she took him by the shoulders, leaning back to look at him, her eyes flaring with conflicting emotion. "I put up a barrier around this place so people wouldn't wander in and get eaten! But you go and do that anyway. You...You..." She stammered, her rage exhausted almost as soon as it had come. She hugged him again, even fiercer this time. "You stupid stupid man..."She muttered, glad he was alive.

When Xeion felt Evie-chan's hug loosen just a little, he took the opportunity and relinquished his hug from her and smiled. "You know I couldn't resist an opportunity to explore, right? Besides, if a person needed help behind the barrier, it gives me all the more reason to risk my life," answered Xeion in an attempt to justify what he had just did by using his own perspective to explain why he had gone and done such a thing in the first place. His explanation, as obvious as it was already, contained no hint of lies or excuses -- it was short and honest, although silly in some aspects. Still, it was Xeion's explanation after all and nobody else could ever come up with the gall to say that they willingly risked their lives because they wanted to see what was behind that thingie that made that cool sound.
After explaining his side of the story, Xeion asked Evie-chan if there was something bothering her. She wasn't herself back when she was in her Bankai and the young captain of squad nine wanted to know why. "Evie-chan, why couldn't you recognize anything back when you were in Bankai form? I tried calling out to you several times, but all you did was snarl and attack. If I didn't use an Astrum on you, who knows where things could have ended up?"

Evil raised an eyebrow at his explanation, a little exasperated by it. She had put that barrier up to discourage anyone coming in, just because she thought an incident like this would happen if she didn't. Why did she even try anymore? She sighed a little, shaking her head, then smiling wryly at him. "Next time you may not be so lucky. I recommend not doing that..." She murmured, then when he asked about how she had acted in her Bankai her heart sank. She swallowed hard and looked away from him, averting her eyes. Mostly what had happened during then was a fuzzy memory at best and she didn't really want to dredge it up now that it had sunk beyond her immediate thoughts. But now, it was up again, like some stinking corpse from the depths of the water to haunt her. Her muscles tightened a little and she looked back at him, trying to disguise what had just happened.
"That was my...weakness in my Bankai. My body burns up a tremendous amount of calories in Bankai and after a certain period of time my body...just....takes over I guess. If I don't eat around then or do something to get more energy I can't control myself any longer." She said softly, looking to the ground now.

"Why is that?" Xeion asked curiously, wondering as to how such a thing was even possible. It sounded very strange for a Bankai to be able to do something like that while its effects were simple like an astronomical power boost and speed boost. Xeion thought that the remuneration for such an act was quite high when one weighs it in with the effects. The distribution of risk was unequal.
"Evie-chan," he said once again, "mind me asking, but do you think it's your Bankai that has the problem? It's weird for it to have such a high remuneration if you ask me..."

Evil shrugged. "I don't know, I'd never really thought about why it was that way before. It's just always been that way." She said, glancing back at him before looking away again. She oddly began to feel dread curling up in her belly, like a cold sort of pain that pricked at her. She didn't know why this was either and was a little surprised at it but ignored the feeling, deciding it was her nerves after she had thought she'd killed Xeion.

Xeion, after hearing Evie-chan's response got even more curious. It was her Bankai, how could even she herself doesn't know why she was acting that way when it comes down to her fighting in her Bankai mode? It was a mystery and something the curious captain wanted to solve. How could something like that even be possible? Shinigami should know why their zanpakutos gave them such remunerations. It should have been explained to them by their zanpakutos themselves on the first day that they got them. However, for this matter, it seemed as if Evie-chan's zanpakuto didn't give her the specifics of her Bankai and now Evie-chan was desperately trying to control it, but failing whenever she did.
"Have you considered asking your spirit why?" he asked again, putting forward yet another suggestion for Evie-chan to use if she found such a suggestion to be useful in helping her solve the mystery of her unequal remuneration.

Evil blinked in surpise. Had she really ever seriously asked Hiokami about her Bankai? Sure, she had casually asked before, and gotten nothing in response. At the time it didn't seem like such a big issue since she had been a Vice Captain and hadn't yet used her Bankai for the period of time required for her to get seriously hungry. But...her Bankai had always been strange. the first time she had ever went into it she had gotten 'stuck' in that form and unable to change back until Daven had helped her. She felt something p***k at the back of her mind, like some sort of revelation that would be easy for her to discover if she only tried to grasp it. The feeling of dread and now almost disgust in her belly grew stronger, making her shy away from this half-realized thought.
"I...asked him once about more specifics on my Bankai shortly after I got it, but he just looked at me strangely..." She said, speaking more to herself than Xeion.

Evie-chan's response was all he needed to hear. Applying his deductive reasoning skills, it was apparent that something was amiss -- and that something was something Evie-chan's zanpakuto didn't want her to know about for reasons only it itself could know. Sure, one may reason out that the reason for Evie-chan's zanpakuto to keep the reason for whatever it was that made the captain-commander lose control of herself after prolonged periods of her in her Bankai hidden from her was to keep her safe from something sinister, but it was Evie-chan's right to know as well. Ignorance was bliss, a famous person once wrote, but lifting oneself from such ignorance was a decision nobody else could make. As such, Xeion first had to talk with Evie-chan and ask her what to do next.
"Evie-chan," addressed Xeion, "do you want another chance to ask it again? However, this will be unlike before. You will be able to see your zanpakuto manifest itself physically in a controlled environment inside an isolate dimension. There, you can fully communicate with your zanpakuto on even terms."
Xeion's offer was simple. He already knew long before that Evie-chan was a Vessel of Anima, much like Rakey-chan and Mi-chan, both of whom he had already made Arcana cards with, The Star and Temperance. The process in which these cards were made involved looking into their hearts and confronting their inner selves, usually done by Xeion to see if he was worthy of making a pact with their souls. However, this could be modified so that not only Xeion can take up the ritual. Sure it was risky, but the worst that could happen was a week-long coma if everything failed. As with all endeavors, there was always a risk involved, so with that said, Xeion wanted to know if Evie-chan was willing to go the distance in order for her to get to the bottom of things.

The horrible feeling started to grow first, and it seemed as if she'd gotten clammy. She'd never, or as long as she could remember anyways, been clammy. She wiped her hands on her Captain's robes, a little disgusted for feeling like this. That normal body reaction to stress decided it for her. She was going to find out what was going on. She looked Xeion square in the eyes, her own seeming to blaze with conflicting emotions; fear, apprehension, but determination as well. She'd open this door to her inner self, and see what hid behind it. She nodded, feeling like a weight was pressing down on her shoulders as she did so. She could feel the spirits that inhabitated her body begin to quake at this, shying away and further into the depths of her mind. "Yes. This while thing is just...It's been buried long enough." She said, the hair on the back of her neck prickling as if she had spoken a dreadful curse.
