Pierrette walked beside Sue to the exit of the gym, her gray gaze on the adoring cats that winded to and fro in front of Sue. Every now and then Pierrette was able to catch one of them in an affectionate scratch behind the ear or another pet down the back. It looked like Sue had a special connection to cats, and Pierrette found it adorable. She wasn't going to say it just yet, though, because the poor guy looked pooped (to lack a better word).
"Nice to meet you, Sue. I figured I might as well introduce myself to as many people as possible, since it looks like we're a team and all," she hugged herself as she continued. "But... some of the people look scary. That 'Aries' is our leader, right? I'd be so nervous talking to her!"
Her tennis shoes hit the grass outside, and Pierrette shivered at the change in temperature. Even with the barrier, December was unforgiving. There was still the threat of zombies, too, and without that beautiful woman to help them they were defenseless.

To be honest, Sue wasn't even thinking of zombies anymore. After spending so long with the greenies first on his mind, the opportunity to stop thinking about them was a blessing, the first instance of relaxing he could really remember for quite some time. There were plenty of them here, anyway, and Foramen was among them - any zombies that tried making trouble would be quick to regret it.
"She is," Sue confirmed. "Aries, and Taurus is the second-in-command. I'm...." What was he, exactly? What role was he supposed to play? He tried thinking back, trying to remember the words that Astraea and Queen Serenity had used. "... A guide, I guess. Not quite like what you are, the Zodiac Guard, but I'm something. Do you remember your Princess yet?"

Topher nearly jumped out of his skin when his senshi title was called. He honestly had expected to just sit thee and wait for something to happen. Being dragged out of the gym by the senshi with the gun definitely wasn't on his list of things to do at that moment. Panicked blue eyes darted towards Yvette. Part of him was drawn to the domineering command of the fiery haired girl but the other half was still clinging to the purple haired girl that still sat so close to him. What would she do if he got up and left with the other? He couldn't just leave her there could he? Wait? Had more people come in?
"I have to leave," He thought aloud to himself, tracing the Taurus Symbol on the tops of the henshin pen. He had to. For the first time in his life, he had something really important to do and some important to listen to. There was no way he could stay especially after being ordered like that. He tried to lock eyes with Yvette. Tried to show her that he was going to keep her in his thoughts without saying it directly. There wasn't time for long goodbyes.
His legs felt heavy as he stood, clambering after Hero, pool stick in hand and the pen gripped tightly in the other. "Lead the way!" And without a second glance to the other people in the gym, Topher Coral followed her.

Her eyes had been watching her blue-haired friend. Even though her deep purple eyes managed to catch sight of his blue upon her, she didn't seem to look away out of uncertainty. Her gaze remained steady for once, and though everything going on had thoroughly scrambled her brains (hurray confusion!), she seemed calm. The only thing that could ruin that gentle moment from the opposite sides of the bleachers soon enough happened.
Hearing the announcement from her savior, she subconsciously bit onto her thin lip. Even worse, Topher specifically was needed elsewhere. Her expression quickly lost the peace it had found and almost seemed to hint at panic. She never would have expected finding serenity within the deep gaze that her friend had returned to her after the announcements. Words couldn't describe it, but even now, she could feel as if he was reassuring her with just that single gaze.
The tranquility she felt was fleeting, and the moment he began to move to leave, she could feel something fluttering in her stomach. Ignoring the instinct to look down to her stomach which was obviously hungry, she continued to watch Topher almost desperately until both he and Hero had left the gym. It was only once he was out of sight that she even heard the singing of the song "You've Lost that Lovin' Feeling" (by the Righteous Brothers, as she mentally noted). The song seemed unfitting to her for the situation, but as she stood up, she couldn't help bringing one hand up to rub away any water that might have built up in her eyes as she had sat there.
You are hopeless, Yvette.
Without any questions, she obediently began to follow the general trend of heading to the "edge of the barrier," her fingers gently holding down the shortened edges of her skirt. That fluttering feeling in her stomach was still there, and as she walked, she couldn't help but wonder if really was hunger, or something else?

-This was... chaos. Absolute and complete chaos. People were going this way and that, everyone was talking in a giant mash of conversations that both related and didn't. And that would have been fine.. had he been in the center of it. He would have been digging for information, formulating pieces and connections in his head. But alas he was not.
For as much as he'd always thought that his ego ruled above others, that he was the hero, that he could never lose.. For all the time he could 'remember' being the gaming star.. having people fawn over his skills.. It'd all fallen to pieces over the past semester.
He'd lost. Time and time again. He couldn't keep his girlfriend alive.. he couldn't kill zombies.. as a zombie he wasn't even THAT good at killing stupid humans. And now.. as it appeared some grand battle was on the horizon he stood not a hero... but a peon.. a silent village bystander that most people wouldn't even address during their travels through their own story.
It was just too much for his ego.
Having already distanced himself from Abeline, it was easy to walk backwards, to make his way back towards the door to the hallway as everyone else began to push forward and gather outside at the giant wall of black. It was one of those situations... one of the ones where you got so frusterated you chucked your controller at the tv as hard as you could, only as an after thought praying neither the tv or controller would fly to pieces. He pushed through the door, dissapeared into the hallway, escaping from everything that stung so strongly of all his loses lately.-

With a great yell over the entire assembly of students, they were directed out of the gym. Zodiac Guards first, and then the rest. Honestly, he had no idea what he could do. Apparently the black sky was a barrier, which meant that if they could break it, they could leave. There was nothing he wanted more than to just go home and never return. Barren Pines had left him unsure of himself and the world around him. It would take a while for him to reconstruct both, and he honestly didn’t have too much hope in really working that hard in making something of his life. He was human again. He was given a second chance, but unlike the movies where the character proclaimed that they would no longer take life for grated, be lazy, and would do everything they set their heart on with a clenched fist and a glimmer expression, Remi was frowning and felt ready to hurl. Human or dead, no one had really taken notice, and just as he was standing up, it didn’t seem to matter if he was here or not. Though he didn’t know what it meant, he didn’t have a fancy title like Zodiac guard. He was Remi. A guy who was riding the currents of something bigger that was passing through, and was just taken in for the ride.
Worse yet, he had no one around to talk to, and wondered that, for all that he talked to people, why he didn’t have any many close friends. Had he been that delusional? As he walked, he noticed one boy step past him and went in the opposite direction. Where he was going, Remi had no clue. Honestly, what did the school have that was any better than being outside? There were zombies in the school, but at least there was a hope to getting out of here if he followed these Zodiac Guards. One could only hope he would be of some use and not just someone who got in the way while other people had important business to do. It was like being in a business lobby with people going here and there on specific and important missions, and all you could do was curl in and find a place where you wouldn’t get in their way.
Even though he had no idea what was going on, it at least felt a tad better to have someone calling the shots and giving directions. Step one: Leave this hellhole. Step two: Sort the rest out.

Billy looked pretty damn disheveled, but for one reason or another, he had made it to this point. He hadn't stayed long with team Tallahassee after his secret internal breakdown, and he'd wandered the halls, armed with ambition and a few other more physical and practical weapons. What he'd seen, heard, and encountered after that was all a blur in the boy's mind. Now that Billy was there among the other survivors, he felt him let out a great sigh, and finally the feeling of great tiredness took his body. He felt heavy and fatigued. He felt his body lean back against the wall and sink down till he was a lump on the floor - back pressed to the wall.
In the few coherent thoughts that he had, he wasn't quite ready to let go of his dislike for anything that wen't by the title 'senshi'. He might have looked worse for wear, but his pride was still intact. Catching a glimpse of the guard he couldn't help his sour expression. Accepting help from his self-proclaimed enemy. The senshi had done nothing but cause him grief since he first heard of them on the news! Those afternoons of walking back home after picking up art supplies - being accosted by Youma who were looking for senshi,..being on the borderline of a fight, and almost being blinded... Billy almost went as far as to blame this entire zombie school on the senshi! Little did he know that in a round about way he was right. Oh how he hated the senshi. Still,...maybe he could put it aside long enough to break out of this hell. He wanted a bath.

Yahya stared.
Like, really stared, for a few, good long seconds. This was certainly the largest group of non-greenies he had stumbled upon since... well, the greenies showed up. Teams Tallahassee and Columbus didn't quite reach this number of students, and Yahya was surprised that there was really so many left alive. Non-zombies. Well, this was good, surely Sue would like to gather everyone up for another stand against the zombies (Yahya was clearly a little behind the times). Yahya wasn't exactly recruiter material, and for a little while all he could do was stare in confusion at the passing group. Really, he shouldn't interrupt, they seemed to be headed somewhere, on some sort of top secret mission or something.
He readjusted the straps of his backpack over his shoulders, peeking back behind him to check through the opening of his backpack. Yeahp, baby squirrels were doing a-okay. All sound asleep, like they should be. Fortunately Yahya hadn't been given the opportunity to run away from zombies and rouse them. He hadn't seen any zombie since leaving the combined teams of Tallahassee and Columbus. The surprise at seeing such a group had chased away his earlier worry at not being able to find his friend, which in this campus usually meant said friend was dead, or zombified.
Yahya hoped it was neither. He liked Sue living, and he liked Sue being non-green. Yahya would rather not be nommed on by a Sue-zombie, even if he'd probably let a Sue-zombie do it anyways.
Reaching behind him, he zipped up the backpack just a little bit. This little bit of time was all that Columbus, the kitten he'd been charged with taking care of, needed to get away. The sickly ball of fluff received a nice boost of energy when he managed not to be a clueless blockhead and noticed who exactly was in the group of survivors. With a high-pitched meow, the kitten darted into the group of students, his sight fixed on one person.
Three, two, one... success!
Columbus found who they had been looking for, and greeted him with a purr, rubbing against Sue's leg and meowing loudly to alert Yahya (who was at this point panicking at losing his kitten) where he was.
Yahya, whom had been insinuated to be the good-natured, but momentary blockhead of the group, was in fact already on his way after his kitten. His Columbus had gone in one general direction, so if he followed that he'd find his kitten sooner or later. Sooner would be better. But man did that cat like to do as he pleased. He certainly hadn't picked it up from Yahya. From Sue? Yeah... more likely.
He slipped past a few students with soft 'excuse me's'. There, he found his kitten! He parted his lips to call to his cat, and scold him lightly for running off on him. But he was made to quickly close them again. He stared intensely for a few seconds at the student he was most familiar with, who had disappeared and worried the hell out of Yahya.
He was right there. Yahya felt like crying, and maybe he did. He was sure he didn't, and if he was it was only in relief that his friend was alive and well! "S-Sue!" Right, don't run up to him and hug him. Sue probably wouldn't like that, just stay cool, calm, collected. Just be glad that Sue is well, he didn't have to hug and gush over it.
His mission 'Recover Missing Team Captain' was COMPLETED.
"Sue, are you okay? Where'd you go? I'm so glad you're okay!" Yeah, Yahya was more than a little behind on the times.

She watched Andeon--ooh! he had his body back!--and Mackenzie slide all the way to Sue. That sort of looked like fun, maybe she'd give it a go sometime. Not here though. Maybe once they were out of Barren Pines, she'd find someplace to try sliding across a gym floor. For now: "Andeon! Mackenzie!" She hopped forward and grabbed their hands--the one empty of penmicrophone in Mackenzie's case, the one with in Andeon's as he lacked a second hand--where were people getting those? "You're all back together," Elke said, a pleased smile on her face. "Come on, let's go."

"I remember many princesses," Pierrette shrugged. "I grew up hearing lots of stories. I also grew up making up lots of stories. I have dreams with princesses, write stories about princesses..."
She hugged herself as she walked beside him. "It'd be great if one of the dreams turned out to be a memory of a past life. Do you remember a lot?"
She looked at Yahya as he ran up from behind them. She gave a little wave, though she didn't say anything. She didn't want to interrupt the happy reunion between friends.

Micky winked good-naturedly at the cat-boy, getting to her feet and brushing off her knees a bit before offering her hands down to Andeon, looking quite pleased with them. "You think he was effectively wooed? I wasn't convinced."
It was the sound of their names being called from across the gym that made Mackenzie spin on her now-slightly-dusty socks, looking around for the voice with a quizzical expression. Her eyes settled easily on Elke, and she smiled brightly, lifting one of her hands to wave over the crowds of people, the blue-haired girl hopping towards them. "Elke! Well if it isn't my old neighbor, back from the dead! Glad to see you survived Zombie-Pines relatively unharmed," she started with a grin, squeezing the girl's hand happily, glancing at Andeon and making a mock-annoyed face, "Yeah, back together with this lunatic. Frankly, he's going to get us all killed, with that terrible drinking habit of his and his plans of serenading Sue."
Damn, did it feel good to be able to tease again. Maybe, just maybe, things were going to turn out all right. The students that filled the gym were more than Mackenzie had thought could possibly be alive, after the carnage which had been the Zombie Apocalypse of their school. It filled her with a characteristic, albeit perhaps unfounded, hope.
Following Elke's lead, she shuffled along the wooden floors, slipping a little every once in a while and clinging to the other girl for support, laughing a little (jesus did it feel good to laugh,) before picking up her boots from where she'd left them outside the gym door. "So where're we going?" She asked in a slightly hushed tone, getting a little more serious as she pulled on the black boots. "I'm afraid Andeon made us late..." Of course it wasn't only Andeon, and she winked, grinning broadly.

More people were filtering in, but Ignacio didn't particularly care. He was grinning like a fool and practically sobbing, but he was happy. Ignacio was just lucky to have friends that wouldn't start laughing at him for it. But at the same time, it didn't matter. He was human, Grayson was human, they were going to win after all. Maybe they could make everyone else human...
...Or a senshi, apparently. Grayson was a senshi too? Ignacio seemed to be surrounded by them. Maybe he was a senshi magnet. This didn't seem to be a bad thing. "No, I'm not a Zodiac Guard." Leo, eh? Fitting. Grayson was like a lazy cat. And he was emotional. ...Like himself.
But his sign was Gemini.
"It's good to hear you are, though. I was worried that all of these Zodiacs would be cold and distant," with a chuckle, he offered a smile, before Grayson's apologetic look came. Right. It was time to move. ...And not time to sing as these two dumbasses were doing. Cripe. That was... Mackenzie and Andeon at the door. And they were a singing duo of ********, the people who represented his sign were those two? Of come on. But he would mentally gripe later. For now, they had a Neasaw to stop. At the edge of a barrier. So that was why the sky was so dark? Ignacio had been paying so much attention to Lucas at the time he supposed he never noticed...
...Wait, was that lavender hair he saw out of the corner of his eye? No way.
It was Lucas.
Alive.
Just like Grayson. Just like him.
Ignacio's grin looked like it was going to take over his entire face. Grayson was alive. Lucas was alive. He was alive. Perhaps, if they brought down this barrier, Melody would have a chance too. Poor dead Melody, lying dead...
But he had to count his blessings and avenge her. Avenge everyone. Avenge himself, even. Ignacio ran to the supply closet that he had been ordered to open and started taking apart a basketball holder to snatch a long, metal pole. Perfect. This could beat down some zombies real good. He smacked it against his hand and nodded before marching forward to join the leaving group.
Time to break some damn barriers.

Libra watched as Mackenzie and Andeon (who had his body back, she noted disappointedly, and what were they wearing, oh my God) slid smoothly over to the purple haired boy, serenading him with pens, and then for once her mind was kind to her and she shut out the implications. She had instructions to follow. She had something to do, and from the sound of it, it would do more good than plucking Elke from the grasp of zombies and asking everyone what they had seen before the fire. So she fell into line with Elke, the red haired girl, and the purple haired boy, (And Andeon and Mackenzie, and was that the boy who had attacked Elke over there?!) and marched.
There had to be a strategy. Hero Barrett was a zodiac, and Aurelia Thorne, so despite the fact that the only other two zodiacs she knew at all so far were Elke and Andeon/Mackenzie, who she supposed counted as one, there had to be some method to this madness. Had to be. If there wasn't, this was one of the rare occasions where she didn't have a backup plan. She had never expected her school to turn out to be a zombie filled death trap. That was the kind of delusional imaginative fantasy that she would normally expect from Tara. She had no plan for suddenly being given supernatural powers, being told to protect a princess and work in a group with people like Elke and Andeon to escape from the zombie apocalypse, and though she would never admit it if asked, it was terrifying.
However, she had fought her way this far. Even if there was no plan, she would just have to keep on struggling. She gripped her scales, which felt reassuringly solid in her hands. Even if there wasn't a strategy, failure was not an option.

Sorry, Pierrette - it wasn't that Sue wanted to appear rude and ignore her (though honestly, he probably wasn't even thinking of that so much), but priorities were priorities. And Yahya marked above damn near everyone but the Princess and the cats. ... And maybe a couple of the Senshi. Sue wasn't sure yet. Definitely above Gemini, though.
"Heyyy, Yahya!" It was obvious that Sue was worn-out from the moment that Yahya laid eyes on him. Obvious from the way his shoulders hung, the way his feet dragged when he walked, from the way he gave a sort of... half-cocked smile... and... caught Yahya in a one-armed hug?
... Apparently, Sue was in a good mood?
"Remind me to thank that b***h for finding you," Sue muttered happily. He hadn't put together that Yahya had just joined the group, of course; he assumed that Yahya had been there since the gym, and just now caught up with his glowy-starred friend. "You get what's going on all right, right?"

He got a hug, which was a whole lot more than he expected, and it practically had him beaming with pleasure. Besides, it gave him an excuse to return it. His arm wrapped around his friend's side in an attempt to support him for a little bit. Sue really did look frighteningly exhausted, like he was going to pass out any moment now. Yahya would just have to stick real close to his friend, so if Sue did pass out, there'd be someone to catch him and make sure he didn't bang his head against a hard rock instead. And, really, now that Yahya had found his friend, it would be difficult to peel him from Sue's side. He was not going to lose Sue again, or at least let Sue wander off without him.
Of course, Sue's assumption that Yahya knew what was going on... only ended up making Yahya even more confused. He had no idea who it was that was supposed to have found him (though he was a little put off with her being called a 'b***h', that was someone he would not like to meet). He most definitely had no idea what was going on, as well. "Ummm... no, I don't know what's going on. You disappeared for a while so I went out to find you, and then I finally find you in this big group. It was hard to miss you guys all walking together." He was trying, in a long-winded way, to say he most definitely had no ******** clue what was going on.
"So I'm just going to... go with the flow!" Yahya really didn't need a thorough explanation. All he needed was to be able to stand by his best friend's side and he would be content. He'd still be confused, but he'd be happily confused... which was better, right?
