Background: Kikyou is a priestess from the Warring States Era (I think that's it). She is a very powerful Miko with incredible archery skills. She once guarded the Shikon no Tama and maintained its purity. Demons from all over tried to steal the jewel from her, but she killed them all. Until one day, a half-demon named Inuyasha tried to take it from her in order to become a full demon. She refused to kill him because he was half-human. So instead, he followed her around, and before anyone knew it, they had fallen in love.
Kikyou was blessed with supernatural powers and therefore, could not live the life of a normal woman. She constantly held responsibility, taking care of everyone, and guarding the jewel. So, she and Inuyasha decided one day that he'd use the jewel to become human, and therefore the Shikon would disappear and Kikyou will be free of her powers, and could live the life of a normal woman, allowing she and InuYasha to finally be together.
But things did NOT go as planned. An evil, shape-shifting demon named Naraku took on the form of InuYasha. He approached Kikyou and struck her down. Of course Kikyou didn't know that it wasn't really InuYasha, so she died hating him for "betraying" her. Then Naraku convinced the REAL InuYasha to break into Kikyou's village and steal the Shikon Jewel. Kikyou, bloodied and bruised, caught up with InuYasha, and with her last ounce of strength, she used her Enchanted Arrow to "kill" him, and she told her younger sister, Kaede, to burn the Shikon with her body.
Fifty years later, Kikyou's ashes were stolen from Kaede's shrine, and a witch resurrected her in order to steal the undead Miko's powers. Kikyou saw InuYasha and she tried to kill him, thinking he betrayed her fifty years ago. She eventually learns the truth about her death, and now she's after Naraku.

Temari is a ninja from the Hidden Sand, Wind Country. Graduated from Ninja school at age 12. Her trademark is this huge fan she carries around which serves as a Ninja tool. Slashing Winds is one of her abilities. She used this to easily defeat Tenten during the Premilinary matches. Temari is a very strong ninja -possibly one of the strongest female Genins. She was the only female to make it to the Chuunin Finals.She is also smart and thinks ahead as shown in her match with Shikamaru. There was also that part when she questioned why go to war when a peace treaty was attained at great cost.
The eldest child on Gaara's team, Temari, as well as Kankuro, is terrified of Gaara, her youngest brother. When Gaara is away, she is a confident, strong Genin, although not a bully like Kankuro. Despite her fear for Gaara, she can be caring towards him, but only if Gaara isn't riled up.She has a deep dislike for war, and shows it when her teacher Baki told them their mission to Hidden Leaf for the Chuunin exams. Despite her dislike, besides Gaara, she has the strongest offense. Her enormous fan can execute a Slashing Wind attack, which can take on groups of enemies, and equally effective in a duel. She thinks ahead, like Shikamaru, to better suit her abilities. She is considered attractive by some. She uses a fan to immobilize weapons and to blow them away. Temari is a pretty smart strategist and can be consider one of the top female Genin. She appears from episode 20 and onward.About Temari's Summoning. I would like to remind you only a few characters in Naruto can perform summonings, also she is the only one able to do this type of summoning.
Kirikiri Mai: Kirikiri Mai is a weasel-like creature that is summoned by Temari during the fight with Tayuya. It can fly and carries a sickle that cuts everything in its path. This creature was actually taken straight from Japanese mythology. It's name is Kamatari.
Temari's Fan: This huge fold-up fan is Temari's primary weapon. This fan has 3 purple circles drawn on it which Temari calls: "stars." Each "star" that is unfolded increases the fan's power greatly. Temari can use this fan to summon great gusts of wind and even use it to fly around.
Background:
Daughter of the Yondaime Kazekage, Temari is Gaara's and Kankuro's sister. She carries a huge, apparently metal fan on her back, which she uses as a powerful ninja tool; she is good at fighting from a distance, and a keen analyst (though not of the same calibre as Nara Shikamaru). She does seem quite cruel during the Chuunin Exam during her match with Tenten, but she is caring towards both her siblings (despite her fear of Gaara) and Shikamaru.
