Interview with Panda!

Hi there, Panda! How're you doing?

Fine I suppose. A little busy, but I don't have a choice here do I?

Okay, let's start off with something simple. What the hell was up with that explosion a while back?!

The explosion? Oh, you mean experiment 246. Nothing major, just trying to create an ointment that induces a desired physical transformation. Back fired a bit, so I put it on hold for now.

That's... a LOT of experiments! So I guess that's what you do all the time, holed up in your study?

No, that is not the only thing I do in my study. There are plenty of POWERFUL ancient spells to decipher that I get from other spellmasters... spells that they can't use for themselves. That is what most of my time is spent doing.

I guess it can be inferred from that that you're pretty well known amongst the wizard circle, am I right?

Well, not to brag, but I AM the youngest wizard to master a Path. Now I'm famous for mastering two!

That is pretty impressive! Well, I think it's time we moved on to questions from our users! PrinceKyo-chan has a whole bucketful of questions to get us started... er, but I warn you, he kind of blatantly offended Jessie when he was here last week... he asks "What is your preference, defensive or offensive magick?"

My magical preference? None of those really. I first mastered the transfiguration path, which can be used most effectively in all aspects of battle. If you desire a better answer, I guess my magic lies in special attacks. Freezing, stunning, or disarming a foe.

"What Magicks do you find the most useful?"

The magic I find most useful? well all magic has it's own specific purpose, to compare one another would be ludicrous. Each spell is important to one's path. Every spellcaster should know that.

"Boxers or Briefs?" (Aaand now we get to the questions that tend to offend our straight-laced discipline heads...!)

...What is this? How is this a relevant question?! It has nothing to do with logic. I refuse to answer such a dumb question, lest I kill my brain cells.

"Why did you join B.O.O?"

B.O.O? Who said I ever joined them? Is this from the same guy as the last question? And you wonder why I refuse to teach some people...

Yup, these are all from the same guy, Sir Panda. "What is your Opinion of the Overseer?"

My opinion on the Overseer? Well, he is VERY benevolent indeed. There are few men as great as him. I wouldn't be half of who I am without him.

"Do you have special training music?"

Yet another question I would abhor answering if I wasn't forced to sit here.

NO. What would I need that for when I'm studying? PROPER spellcasting training requires quiet, tranquility, and most especially focus. Why else put spells in books and not in songs? If there are many more questions like this, someone may wake up a frog!

"Is there someone in the Order of whom you have a romantic interest in?" (Oh, boy... this should be good... everyone loves to see these guys offended!)

Me? Have time for romance? With all of the things I have to do for everyone right now I wouldn't have time for that! Even right now I've been working a a potion for Lorika that is taking far too much time. Unless a girl loved being a test subject she would have no room in my study.

I am loathe to press this, but... having an interest in someone doesn't necessarily mean spending time on them! I believe our young Kyo was trying to ask if you have any INTEREST in someone, not especially in COURTING someone.

Well... what would be the point in having an interest in someone if all it were, were daydreams. I'd be liable to make mistakes if something like that would happen! I couldn't let myself have an interest in someone... it may cost lives.

Hmm... are we hiding something, sir?

Hiding something? If I were it would be best to keep it a secret... lest it not be hidden anymore.

Hmmm. I'm an Interviewer, my dear. Bluster can never quite fool me. Perhaps this is something we shall return to later... Next up is Nii Amikasame, who wants to know a few things. "Have you ever considered taking up Spirituality or Combat?"

Hmm. As a child I practised wooden sword fighting, but magic caught my attention and soon I was addicted. After I joined the Order and saw Spirituality in use, I'll admit it intrigued me. I'm not a believer though, so I'd never take up the study myself.

"What's the least and most rewarding part of being a professor?"

The least rewarding part of being me is the students! Most of them won't make it. The most rewarding part is that now I get the facilities and resources to better myself even further.

"How do you like your clams?"

I wouldn't know. Even before the Order I never ate them. Octopus with a side of eel is my favorite seafood.

"What's your opinion on black magic?"

Magic is neither black nor white. Its nature changes by use. I myself have used very dangerous spells on people in the past, but to call them magic black is a mistake. It was my fault.

"Which spell do you find yourself using most?"

I find myself using Transfiguration the most. It was the first kind of spell I completely mastered. Most Spellcasters stick to the first one they master as well.

"How many books have you finished reading as of today? And which among those would you consider your favorite?"

I lost count after a thousand. I suppose my favorite would have to be "The Unabridged Complete History of the World of Gaia," since we live in such a diverse, unconventional place.

"Have you or has anyone asked you to make a love potion? Is it even possible to make?"

True Love potions are a myth. No potion can truthfully sway emotions, only the mind. I have made aphrodisiacal potions numerous times for clients though, if that is what you are asking.

"Do you own a fancy wizard hat? How about a wand?"

A hat and a wand? What do you take me for? A halloween spectacle? I'm a spell caster, not some twit.

"Have you authored any books? If so, how many, and what are they about?"

I do not have the time to sit down and write anything. Most of my time is devoted to my work.

"Are wizards born or made? In other words, do you think anyone can practice magic?"

I believe anyone can TRY to practice magic. I also believe most of them will fail along the way. Some say talent is born, other say it is earned. I believe in hard work and perseverence. That's how TRUE wizards are made

Such an inquisitive soul, that Nii! Now a couple of questions from Feline Godess. "What is your favorite form to transform into?"

My favorite form? Do I look like a balloon animal? My form reflects my needs for specific situations. There are no favorites here - it's do what is needed.

...Oh, boy. "Do you like boobies?"

Wh-WHAT THE HELL KIND OF QUESTION IS THAT?! I refuse to answer such a vile thing - it's disrespectful!

(Aha, I spot an opportunity!) Oh, come now Panda! Perhaps there is a certain someone's boobies that keep you awake at night?

I said I would now answer that kind of thing. Now DROP IT.

Yeesh, okay Mr. Prickly! Here's a question from iGrunny E M O that's much more up your street. "What is this strange idea of free time?"

Free time is getting a moment from lecturing my students so I can work on a potion or two.

And she has a couple of other questions. This one is apparently related to physics, or chemistry, or... I was never any good at science. "Does the sky reflect the water, or vice versa?"

Hmm, actually it is interesting. The sun reflects off of particles in the air, and because of distortion in the atmosphere, the sky appears blue. That in turn get reflected upon the water to give it its appearance.

Fascinating stuff! "Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry, or Banana?"

Vanilla is a fine flavor for me.

Anon wants to know "do u liek eat bamboo or sumthin? coz ur name is panda lol, it make snense ryt?!?"

Is that some sort of joke question? I won't even humor that with an itelligent response.

Metaburo Fanmaker has a couple of questions! "When's your birthday and what's your favorite dish?"

My birthday? Why do you need to know that? I hate parties, so don't even think about it! As for my favorite dish, I thought I said before, but it is Tempura octopus.

"Cake, pie, cookies, cupcakes?"

Sweets are highly overrated.

"Flavor of cake?"

Flavor of cake? I just said I don't eat it. That's a stupid thing to ask.

StormDawn wants to know "How much do you know about other planes of existence?"

Well, I'm certainly not an expert in planar divination, but I do know of a few realms in particular and I have several books detailling portals and summoning... but why do you want to know? I'd never allow anyone to access that magic!

Feline Godess has a very valuable question. "Brains or beauty, which do you prefer in a woman?"

I prefer personality in people. Not only in women, but everyone.

Well, I think on that note we shall draw our interview to a close! Thank you for your time, Professor.

You're welcome. Now if only mine could be replaced...

Ahahahaha, that wizard is such a card. See you guys next time, when we'll be interviewing a new arrival to the Island...!
