Blueberry combed out her fur and stretched her hind legs. Morning was her favorite time of the day. Turning to the right, she gently pushed her nose against Liridon's side to wake him up. Liridon stirred from his slumber and groaned. "Is it morning already?" Liridon squinted seeing Blueberry as chipper as ever.
"Wake up sleepyhead! I'm hungry!" Blueberry smiled at Liridon with her usual good morning grin.
Liridon licked his paws clean before getting up. He was not a morning rat. It always bothered him how Blueberry liked to wake up at the crack of dawn. Ah well, at least his day wasn't wasted this way. "Alright... Alright... Let's go look for some food."
Outside the crisp morning air signaled the sign of the season changing. Merritime had passed and the new year was upon them. Blueberry was first out of the small cave. Her ice blue coat shined against the last bits of melting snow on the ground. She made sure Liridon was out before making a stick stand straight up against the den entrance to make sure it would be easy to spot when they got back. Liridon watched her for a moment before making his way toward the bushes. She really needed to sharpen her tracking skills. Having to put a marker at their own den always made him chuckle. Of course, not out loud.
There were usually newly ripened berries dotting the bushes this time of year. "We should probably hurry if we're going to catch the freshest berries, Blueberry." Liridon kept moving, even though it was slow going so early in the morning.
"I bet you I'll make it there first!" Blueberry took off in front of Liridon leaving him trailing behind her.

"Awe! Come'n guys!" The Coyote pup made her appearence, bounding through the melting snow with what was left of a toy in her mouth, it was hanging a bit akwardly, and it seemed to have been dealing with the chewing pup. "Thaz just nun fair!"
"Its sooo fair!" "YEA!" The troublesome twins proceeded ot jump around and pounce on the pup, pokeing and knocking her over as they all laughed. "Uh Huh Uh Huh!" Rin-tu yelled, the group dogpile with a little tail wagging from under them as Star fought to escape.
"Come now, calm down." Tori laughed, prancing forwards. " Five minutes outside and you go bonkers, we havent even reached the beach yet." She was going ot let them camp out tonight, it was supposed to be a clear new moon, the firework-stars would be brilliant.. and the bubbley water would be super sweet.
"Hey..." The Ringtail cat climbed back down the tree, inching closer to the oddly colored cat as she curled her tail up. What'cha doing?" She asked, sneaking up behind him and poking his tail with her paw.

 Ren was lucky it seemed the female ringcat was the first to notice him. Of course when she poked his tail he bolted into a nearby bush. Staring out he realized just what he had walked into and with a huff he tried to puff out his chest a bit and slowly climbed out of the bush as tho he had meant the mad dash into it.
"clearly im tracking is it that hard to see..." He was a tad grouchy but the female had all but caused him to lose his edge.(nice post remy surprised )

Blueberry made it to the berry bushes minutes before Liridon. That slowpoke needed more energy! Ah well, she could search for the good berries while he took his time. Blueberry eyed the bushes, carefully picking out which one had the brightest and juiciest looking fruit. Of course her eyes stopped at the blueberry bush. She quickly made her way there and started picking the berries. Her little claws snapped the berries off the branches causing the tiny fruit to fall to the ground and make a small mound of food.
"You really are hungry, aren't you?" Liridon finally came to the bushes and watched as Blueberry made quick movements at the fruit.
"It's about time slowpoke." Blueberry rolled her eyes. Picking off a few more berries, she plopped down next to her work and started to munch. "Better get over here and eat some before there's nothing left." She stuck her tongue out at him in between a bite.
Liridon said nothing and began to dig in. Berries first thing in the morning definitely lifted his spirits. It was a good thing he had such a happy companion. Otherwise, he'd probably become idle alone.

"you do stick out like a sore thumb you know" The ringtail smiled, her tail wagging a bit. She smiled and twitched her nose, scratching behind her ear with her back paw. " But also tracking a weird group like us is going to be hard wihtout being noticed."
Meanwhile all three of the skunks were bounding and hopping and rolling about as they called and taunted eachother. They hooted and hollered, moving around trees and under brush and through the legs of Hitori as she sighed. "Dont go inside! Gwen is still sleeping!" She growled, only to make sure they got the hint.
"I'll go'n sit with her." The coyote wagged her tail and moved to the den, laying down beside the small vibrant green rat, who snuggled against her friends belly.

Anna, Biscuit, Malachai, Cyrus, Santiago, Rafe, and Munchkin
The brood of rats and fox were walking through the forest in search of leaves for beds at the beach and berries to work on their stock pile of food in the burrow. The presents from Merritime had all but run out and they needed to go out and find more food to survive. They went as a group so nobody would be separated. Since the brood was so small, it all worked out.
Santiago was walking down the path with the men, Cyrus, his son Malachai, and their friend Rafe, around his feet. The ladies, Anna and Biscuit, were riding on top of Santiago, Anna carrying little Munchkin, who was sound asleep at the moment. Santiago suddenly stopped when he picked up the scent of another fox. A female. There were others in this area that watched over small ones? There was the scent of a few other small animals around this fox. They smelled like they were going in the direction of the beach, so Santiago decided to follow.
(crappy post, I know, but I needed some way to make interaction between you guys. Oh my gosh Remy, Liridon is sooo sooo cute!)

"It seems like our friends are going to be joining us... Strange, seems they've got their own pack going." The Vixen giggled, moving to the den. "Star.. dont wake her now okay? I'll go find something to carry her in, then we can set off for the beaches." She wagged her tail and set off into the brush to find something. Sadly all the boxes and bags of merritime were gone, and she was going ot have to improvise.
Leon, Noel, and Rin-tu continued to run around, stopping as Tori came into view. "Whats going on now?""Yea whats going on?""We still going?"
" Yes yes, we're going, i just need to find something to carry Gwen in when we travel, shes a bit little and she cannot quite hang onto things." She smiled.

As the brood started to catch up to the fox that Santiago had heard of from Cyrus and the two girls, he began to wonder about her. Was she nice? Obviously, she'd saved Anna and Biscuit when they were babies from the cold. He had to meet this female. Swishing his tail along, he made sure not to get too cloudy headed and step on the male rodent companions around his feet. Their scent became smaller now and before he knew it, he was nose to nose with said female, who had just said something about carrying what seemed to be a baby rat. She'd probably turned around to look for a leaf or something to carry the tiny creature in.
Taken aback, he stumbled a little and felt all nervous. She was beautiful. Cyrus laughed at him and said, "Hello Tori. Fancy meeting you here." Glancing up at Santiago, eh held his laughing as he was trying to gain his composure back. Anna and Biscuit peered over Santiago's back and smiled at Tori and Rin-Tu. Malachai came up next to his father. Obviously Cyrus' children had grown into adults the last time Tori had seen them. "Nice to see you Tori. Looks like your pack grew too." Santiago had finally found his place behind the rats, listening to them.
Rafe's mind was somewhere else. He was sitting beside Santiago, thinking about his girl at home in the burrow. Silver. God she was beautiful. They'd been "batting eyes" for a while now, and he wondered if the last time they'd "had alone time" she had ended up pregnant. Lately she'd been eating more than usual, and not to be insulting, he'd noticed her gain a considerable amount of weight. Hearing the little skunks giggle, Rafe snapped out of it and started to pay attention.

"Oh my, Hello Cyrus, Biscuit,Anna,Malachai.. " The fox looked up and wagged her tail, looking at Santiago, Rafe, and Munchkin. She didnt recognize them, but she bowed her head in greeting. "Why hello, its nice to meet you, im Hitori. And yep, the packs been growing a bit, seems so has yours. "
The skunks had gathered at her heels, looking them over. Rin-tu wagged her tail, running to Anna and Biscuit. "HI!! OH GOSH ITS BEEN SO LONG! HOW'RE YOU GUYS!" She was still as exciteable as ever. The other two laughed and moved forward, giving them a small sniff.

"Im not tracking you... " His tail still a tad puffed up glared at the female. "I was tracking humans to see just how far they venture. Your just in my path." It was odd for him to at all rude to a female but the fact was she started it. Or at least thats what he wanted to believe. It was easy to tell Ren was met up with the group of noise already his smell and theres mixed. When it came to tracking he was if not one of the best despite his looks. "that moron..." but as he neared he could tell they weren't the smell of nothing oddly bad but they were a meer group.

Anna and Biscuit climbed down Santiago's back and landed on the ground gracefully. Smiling at Rin-Tu they ran over and played around a bit. "Rin-Tu you've grown up so fast!" Anna said. Biscuit was carrying Munchkin by her scruff in her mouth. It was normal for elder rats to do that to babies so they had better balance and such with their hands free. Rafe smiled and walked over, introducing himself to the brood, as did Santiago, who looked up at Tori and smiled. "Nice to meet you, Hitori. I'm Santiago."
Suddenly, there was a rustling of the plants behind the group, and Rafe smelled something familiar, and two other things that weren't. A second later, Silver, his mate, came through with two little baby rats on her back. Rafe was elated as he gazed upon his children. Turning to the others, he smiled and said, "Guys, this is Silver, my mate. And my two children" Smiling again, he nuzzled his mate and took one of the babies off her back, which was the male, and held him on his to give her less weight to carry. "Hello everyone. Sorry if I gave you a fright, I just felt safer with Rafe and the others. Plus I needed Rafe to see the babies we're keeping. The others are with other clans now, because you know that all animals on the island can't take care of more than two."

Lilani looked at the male oddly, like he had lobsters crawling from his ears." Well, alright." She wasnt one to argue, he seemed to be the hard-headed type. Her tail flicked as she looked over her shoulder. "I guess i'll just go back to my family. Enjoy your tracking El tigre~" She teased, pointing out his coat color as she bounded off.
Hitori smiled. "Its nice to see another Fox tending to the smaller ones of us." She smiled, wagging her tail. "Would you care to come to the beach tonight? I'm finding something to carry our Babe in, then we're setting off to watch the stars come up once more. New Years is going to be comming to an end soon enough, and Lovedove isnt quite as exciting for the young ones."
"What cute little tykes!" Noel and Rin-tu were torn, moving between Little Munchkin and the two babys that Silver had, they were soooooo cute! Who wouldnt love them "Gwen would love to play with them, shes cute too! shes our little sister."
Tori looked past Santiago and over at the skunks. "relax you two, i still need to find Gwen a carry-pack. Maybe i can find one for these little babes too."

Santiago smiled and replied "We'd love to. It turns out that we were heading down there anyways for leaves for the dens. So it all works out. Yes, the little ones do need to be looked after, with all the other large animals here." Looking down at the baby rat she had said something about carrying, he looked over to Anna, who nodded. "You know, Anna here could carry her if you'd like. Silver and Rafe have their children, and Biscuit's got Munchkin, so we wouldn't mind holding Gwen if you would like" Smiling, Santiago waited for a reply from Tori.
Rafe and Silver were letting Rin and Noel pet the sleeping babies. Rafe looked at his mate, who looked exhausted. She mustn't have had the children but a day ago. Man, he loved her. Munchkin started to stir in Biscuit's grasp, opening her little eyes, wondering what was going on. Scratching her little face, she looked around at all the new people and was immediately afraid, squirming in Biscuit's mouth. Letting her go, Biscuit took the baby up in her paws and held her close, whispering calming words to her, looking sheepishly at everyone else, apologizing.

"Its not fair to Anna and Biscuit. and especially not fair to you." Hitori smiled, looking around at her paws. "what i wouldnt give for one of those human baskets. They could carry them with ease, and i would not have to worry about her falling from the den's bedding." She laughed to herself, just looking over at Silver. "Would you like to ride on my back? You seem tired."
Rin-tu and Noel stepped back. "Its okay! We're big and scary im sure! Yea! were just big and scary to her!
"then stop screaming.. nit-wits." Leon laughed a bit.
"HITORI! GWENS WAKING UP A LITTLE! SHES CRYING!" The coyote pup was trying to find the fox.
"Oh boy... Please come back to the den, rest a bit.. its rude not to invite you in!" The fox smiled, turning tail and trotting off towards the den again.
