Victoria walked down the hall and stopped at the door of her Vice Captain's office. Taking a deep breath Victoria was trying to calm herself before knocking on the door. Meeting both her leaders in one day was alot but, it has to be done. Yamoto-San wants her to get with the Vice Captain for basic kidou training and to meet everyone in the squad.
"Ok, let's get this over with. Hopefully he is as nice as Yamoto-San. I don't think I'm gonna say anything about the whole sword thing. I don't want to shock both of them in one day."
Victoria reaches forward and knocks on the door ....

Kiisho stood smoothly from his previous sitting position and moved to the door, his steps somewhat delayed from the long night of paperwork. He really needed to get on top of these things before the weekend.. He paused a few footsteps from the door, and called out. "Come in!"

Victoria opened the door and stepped inside the office. Standing a few feet away from the Vice Captain, Victoria bowed and said "Sir, my name is Victoria Coven and I am new to the squad. I have already reported to Captain Yamoto and was told by him to report to you for kidou training and to meet the rest of the squad members. I see that you are busy and can come back at a later time if needed sir?"

Kiisho smiled warmly and motioned for her to come inside, turning around as he did and walking back to his desk. "Nonsense Victoria, please come in." His voice was warm enough, but held with it a slightly animalistic twinge, nearly feral in nature. "I have heard from Captain Yamoto that you are not fond of using your sword, is that correct?" He sat as he posed the question, folding his hands over each other in front of him as he did.

Victoria says, "Wow ... bad news travels fast around here doesn't it. Yes, sir it is true. I am not fond of using my sword at all. I was hoping not to anger both my leaders in one day with this news. But my file tells it all sir. I was ranked the highest in my class in kidou lessons. I learned kidou's 1-10 to the point where I don't need to speak the incantation's anymore. No one in my class has been able to do that as of yet. I was born to be a kidou master much like yourself sir. I have no need for this sword."

Kiisho frowned and leaned back in his chair, folding both of his arms over his chest as he did so. "Now, now Victoria. You should not be so hasty as to shrug off your zanpakuto just yet." He drew his own sword, and laid it across the table in front of him, placing the index and middle fingers of his right hand on the blade. "This is much more than a simple sword. It is a friend, a companion, and an invaluable asset to me in battle. Your zanpakuto is a part of you on a level that you will not be able to understand for some time. You share a soul with it, as well as a mind. It is not simply something you can shrug aside like a forgotten weapon." He quickly returned his zanpakuto to his side, and leaned over the table, placing his hands together in a clasped position. "To be a true kido master, you must learn to master all forms of martial combat. Kido is not simply long distance techniques for defending yourself, so much as it is a powerful entity, fully destructive and containing more power than any other thing in our world save our zanpakuto themselves. A high rank in the academy will not earn your a title here, but talent will." He stood smoothly, pushing back his chair as he did, and gesturing towards the door. "Now, if you will accompany me to the training fields, we can continue this discussion in a learning environment, where I will be able to assess your skills further. Shall we?"

Victoria bowed and said, "Yes sir, after you sir." This has not been a good day for Victoria. This is the second person in her chain of command that has not been happy with her about her decision to not use the sword. There was no way to hide it from them. Her records speak for themself and they tell how she was no good with the sword.
Victoria followed the Vice Captain out of the office ....
