my people historically were farmers.
butchering was the most popular day of the year; young men would come to the farm and do any chore they could, just to be near the action.
you should know that we boil and can tons of beef just to ship it abroad to relieve hunger.

we have a best selling cookbook which promotes a vegetarian-friendly menu because it creates a lighter footprint than beef or pork culture, it is called Living More With Less.

we eat their Caribbean Beans and Rice maybe twice a month, i highly recommend it.

1. Is it morally wrong to kill animals for the purpose of eating them? -No. Animals kill each other in nature, we are, technically, animals ourselves. HOWEVER, the way they kill them in some places is inhumane. I do not eat meat because I love animals and it makes me upset thinking that i just ate something that was alive at one point, most likely suffering. Killing animals for clothes, I do believe is wrong though. I am obviously a vegetarian.
2. Are some animals acceptable to eat? Are others not? -Well to me, no. None are acceptable. But I really don't care if others eat meat. I only eat eggs and drink milk from animals who aren't shoved in cages.
3. Does the belief that animals have souls or do not have souls influence your views on meat eating? -Well, I believe they feel pain and love and joy and sorrow. So, yes. It does. 4. Does your view on this subject contradict with your religious views or adhere to them? -Well, I really have no religion...So, it doesn't go against anything..
5. Which religions prohibit eating meat, which allow it, and which make no mention of it? -I am not sure about this one....But I know that in the Bible it says not to eat pork(I'm sure I interpreted that wrong), but a lot of Christians do anyways...That is all that I know of.
And as for the plants having feelings, a lot of them would not reproduce if they aren't eaten, so that's okay... To me, anyways. I'm sure the plants don't mind...

1. My answer is no. For one thing, predation happens in nature. Of course, I'm more up for humane means of raising and in the case of meat-producing animals, butchering animals for food.
2. Yes, and yes. Most of the reasons behind these stems from simple hygenic purposes, really. But that depends.
3. Not really. For the most part, they do not posses free will, unlike human beings.
4. It's more of adhere really. Then again, Roman Catholicism tends to be liberal about what to eat.
5. Jainism is against eating meat. Hinduism has nothing in their scriptures against eating meat, but because of influence from Jainism, Hinduism and Buddhism generally goes for vegetarianism.
Of course, the Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity and Islam) for the most part, aren't vegetarian. Of course, certain animals are forbidden to eat in Judaism and Islam. Mormonism is generally vegetarian except in dire circumstances, but it now depends.

1. Is it morally wrong to kill animals for the purpose of eating them? Not at all, the way in which we do this may be morally questionable. As for the predation in nature, it's generally accepted that only humans have morals.
2. Are some animals acceptable to eat? Are others not? I don't eat animals that aren't bovine, porcine, or foul. I will not eat canids, rodents or lagomorphs. I also don't eat ovine meat, because of the smell, or felines because of my therianthropy.
3. Does the belief that animals have souls or do not have souls influence your views on meat eating? Not at all, I require meat in my diet due to a natural anaemia. I try to ensure the animals I eat are slaughtered in a humane way, and I cannot eat any animal I know personally.
4. Does your view on this subject contradict with your religious views or adhere to them? I'm pagan, and believe all animals have souls. I also believe in the food chain, and honour those animals I do eat by wishing them a quick and humane death.
5. Which religions prohibit eating meat, which allow it, and which make no mention of it? I know my muslim friends cannot eat pork, or non-halal meat, and hindi's don't eat beef. Christians aren't supposed to eat meat on Fridays, except fish.
