Hivemind XXX As the moon reached it's peak, Faerai woke as if called. Her eyes snapped open, yet she didn't move, assessing her surroundings; the wind movement, any sounds she could pick up. Hearing and finding nothing she turned her sights inward, listening to the combined voices of the Hivemind. Zaq, she smiled slightly, he was right where he had been as she accidentally drifted to sleep. Rune, it was hard to get a feel on the girls thoughts, she had spent so much time blocking the others out that she became faint, though always there. Eleanore... well, who could tell about Eleanore, she was 'defective' as the scientists always liked to put it.
XXX Sitting up she felt the cool nights air on her skin and brought her knees to her chest, wrapping her arms around her legs for warmth. She nearly laughed at herself as that thought came to mind, with but a single thought she created a small flame in the palm of her hand. It offered warmth but there was nothing flammable and so the fire merely stayed on her hand. 'Playing with fire is bad for those who burn themselves. For the rest of us, it is a very great pleasure.'

At first, she felt him skim his mind, probably trying to detect exactly who was there. He continued to watch her though, and looked at the flame she had created on her hand, watching it dance in the moonlight. He pulled off his coat, the one that he used to keep himself looking admirable as he usually does. Once he finished, he placed it over Faerai's shoulders, wrapping it around her snuggly, hoping it would help. He then moved himself closer, and wrapped himself around her, thinking that his cold body could possibly help keep her warm.
xxxIt was cold out, even though they were next to the volcanoe. It was partly his fault, the recycling of the air made it chilly, bringing it up from the base of the rocky area. He thought about stopping, but knew that he wouldn't survive the night with all the sulfur fuming from the top of this mountain. He shivered, only slightly, glad that Faerai always seemed to be naturally warm.

Rune could feel the quiet dream thoughts poof away and the dreamer scanned the thoughtline. She felt Faerai detecting her presence and blatantly ignored her, not bothering to block her out. She didn't want anyone to freak out or anything. Rune shivered violently, letting a faint "It's cold!" pass through. She walked closer to the volcano for heat, but kept a far enough distance that she wouldn't suffocate or get hit by a rock. She didn't really notice much of a temperature change, and glared at noone in particular for making it cold. Rune decided to blame the...Unborn. A flurry of rage sent through her from out of nowhere. Rune reluctantly cursed the Unborn, then the scientists. She wanted memories of her own. These weren't specific enough for her to believe they were real. But why had the terrible people put them in her mind? Was it only to torture her more? She pushed the thoughts away, hoping nobody had heard them, though she doubted they didn't.

Renko was back to observing the experiments in her room. However, this time she had three monitors on. The TV and her desktop monitors showed the same experiments as before, but now she also had to use her laptop monitor, which showed yet another experiment she had to keep track of, experiment 12494. She had been given yet another Hivemind to observe to better prepare herself. She was not the first of the people to try out serum and was actually trying out a version of the serum in the intermediate stages of it's development. By now, the scientist who had been working on it were sure to have differentiated the strains needed for the Hivemind and Unborn, but that was all they were sure of. How effective and specific the serum was in the abilities it granted was something that Renko, along with several others, was supposed to test out. Because of her intelligence, Renko was assigned to test out a Hivemind serum, which explained why she had yet another Hivemind to observe.
After injecting her first shot of the serum into the vein on her right wrist, Renko continued watching and recording the experiments, "Experiment U-2873 seems to be about to make contact with the tracking pair, and experiments 26117 and 13474 seem to have waken up again and are showing more signs of a close relation. Newly assigned experiment 12494 seems to occupy the river for the majority of her time. Could her element possibly affect her preferences? It is still too early to determine. Furthermore, she now seems to be heading towards the volcano for an unknown reason. Chances of experiment 12494 meeting up with experiment 26117 and 13474 are highly possible. The chances of them teaming up or fighting are unknown. Experiment 31245 remains static in her current position, she seems to have no will to go anywhere at the moment."

Rune went to where two others were and stood in front of them. "Wake up!" she said. "We are here, aren't we? Obviously, they want us to do something, so let's do something instead of being lazy. Get up. I want to explore."
