Kirin nodded along at Jess' suggestions of other things to find in the infirmary. It sounded like a good starting place, so they'd at least be warm when night set in.
He almost chuckled at Nihl's suggestion of hitting things with crutches. Exactly. It would make their 'weakest link' more mobile, and give her a decent weapon for each hand. If they found her something better later on, great, if not, at least she was armed.
Speaking of which, Kirin needed to get his hand on a weapon. He didn't want to keep hitting things with his laptop bag. If they actually managed to find a live data point or working phone line, it would be just their luck to have the laptop broken by zombies just before.
"I'm up for heading to the infirmary," he offered. "It was my suggestion, I'm not injured, and I won't be needing sleep for a while yet." Thanks to a handful of energy drinks consumed during last night's programming spree before the fire.
"Food should also be a priority, but I don't know if we want two groups going out and leaving only one or two people here," Kirin frowned. Especially if it was the injured or tired left here to guard the 'base'. Without knowing more about the enemy, it was hard to strategise. Until he knew more, he thought it was better to be safe than sorry. But he wasn't the one in charge here. His money was on the brunette girl sticking close by Andeon. Or possibly Andeon himself, judging from the sudden take-charge attitude.
He accepted the makeshift splint from Andeon, giving a frosty glare at the chauvinistic comment. Kirin seemed to know more about this than any female, not that Kirin was about to reveal his secret just to shoot the pink-haired idiot down. Still, any drop of respect Andeon had earned for his serious behaviour disappeared with that remark.
"Prop your foot up on something," he told Jess, brusque as ever when it came to treating her. Still, she could take it, which said more for her than several other girls that Kirin had made cry during their years at Barren Pines.

Although nervous about the fading light, Nihls nodded at Andeons roll-call for the infirmary run. He was tired, but it made much more sense to wait a little longer before even -thinking- about sleep. Take advantage of the light. Besides, they might find a flashlight and some batteries. Sadly the staff was probably far too aware of the price-tag on such items to have left one of those impressive, heavy metal flashlights that could have doubled as a weapon, but a boy could dream... and why not given their current circumstances. "...Can Bartholomew stay here? He can... help watch out for zombie-people... and it'll free up my hands." Also the cat would appreciate feeling settled for a time, and might be some comfort to the exhausted and wounded. "...If someone spots one. I would really like an flashlight." he admitted. It would make him feel marginally more useful, and considerably safer. Costumes were an excellent idea, though if they were rescued it might appear strange, but they were better than pajamas and blankets, and some sturdy props might also make effective weaponry.

Micky nodded, watching the survivors file in slowly, pulling away from the door once it seemed safe. They seemed to know what they were doing. Meeting each of their eyes, she listened to them talk amongst themselves. So far, so good. They seemed to be getting the idea. Some looked worse off than others, but they seemed to be taking that well too. At least they were a relatively caring group. She would hate it if they had to rough someone up for being selfish.
Sliding up onto the desks, Mackenzie reached for the bottle of alcohol the pink-haired boy had left earlier, taking a tentative sniff before making a face, setting it down again. She wanted it, but not that badly. Besides, Andeon's comments were more than enough to make her laugh, sans the pleasantly funny feeling she got when she shook her head back and forth. Oh Andeon. Lifting an eyebrow, she grinned at Kirin, winking. "I think he's flirting with you," She replied in a mock-whisper, giving her a friendly grin. Which was kind of a flirt in itself. Couldn't hurt, might help.
Again, Andeon spoke, although this time it was met with a semi-serious nod. Alright, play time was over. Time to be useful. She was sure those here could hold down the fort. Grabbing the broom she had found in the corner, she tossed it at Evie, trying not to grin at Nihls' comment. "Be back soon. Stay safe," she addressed the rest of them before glancing at the green-haired boy, "You... stay close by me." Sliding off the desk once more, Micky saluted Andeon, slinging her bat over her shoulders and slipping past him out the door, making kissy faces at him as she passed.

Doing as she was told, Jess propped her leg up against another chair and sat quietly while Kirin splinted her up. It hurt like hell, but she didn't, couldn't cry. Not when she was surrounded by people in various mental and emotional states. To be blunt, she could cry and scream later. Right now, it was time to work.
Turning to Nihls, she smiled gently and gave him a nod.
"I'll watch him for you. I like cats," she murmured before turning too-bright eyes to Andeon and Mackenzie. "I can keep and organize a watch here too. Too wired to sleep."
Oh, she knew the adrenaline wouldn't last forever. But it would sustain her for another few hours at least.

At the idea that Andeon was flirting with him, Kirin iced over. Andeon got sent another frosty glare. Mackenzie escaped the treatment - either Kirin didn't recognise the flirting from her, or it simply wasn't as cringe-worthy as Andeon's attempts.
"Yeah, sure," he rolled his eyes as he turned his attention to Jess and her foot. "I'm a direct descendant of Doctor Quinn, Medicine Woman."
Kirin finished splinting the ankle, rewrapping it with the torn strips of his pajama pant leg. Jess' pain hadn't gone unnoticed. To the leaving party, he said, "If you find any painkillers or antibiotics, that'd come in useful, too."
He eyed the boys remaining behind. Maybe one of them would be interested in ducking out to the home ec room for food supplies? Or at least seeing if there were vending machines nearby. Maybe the home ec kitchen would have to wait til there were more people available. If four were heading to the infirmary, that left four here. Splitting up again, especially when Jess was injured, even if she was 'wired', might be stretching it too thin.
Worth sounding out, anyway, before the 'leaders' left.
"Anyone remember where the closest vending machines are? Two of us could do a quick food run."

((Sorry about the lack of me yesterday! Work was suckily streched out. Hopefully should be about for atleast a few more posts today :3 ))
-His weapon, aka hunk of wood, was redrawn as Andeon's request sounded, adding a nod to his silent acceptance for the task. Infirmaries were notorious dangerous, likely because they so often carried such important extras. Life replenishment, extra ammo, and bandages and medicine and stuff.
Lucas didn't particularly LIKE bickering with woman, but at the moment he was more concerned with safety, having decided.. for the time being that his objective might lie somewhere between 'kill every f'ing last zombie scum' and 'keep the survivors alive long enough for one to initiate a storyline that would take them somewhere'. Kirin's idea was well founded, but exceedingly dangerous.- "There isn't a point in getting supplies if there isn't going to be a base to return to." -As it was they were already losing their strongest few for the infimary mission. Who knew how long cripple + snuggie b*****d could keep the base if the other two left for junk food.-
"If we see a machine on the way we can try to grab a few things. But an actual food run is better left until there are enough people to carry things AND enough people to keep the base safe in the meantime."

Loathe as Andeon was to argue with a hot chick, he had to side with Lucas. It was too dangerous for so many of them to go out at once.
“When we get back,” he said, his voice confident that they would be coming back, “We'll send another team out for a food run before we call it a night. It shouldn't take us more than an hour or so to get to the infirmary and drama room and gather supplies. Provided we don't get into any trouble.”
Of course, when the hell was that likely to happen?
“Kirin, can you have a small team ready to go once we get back? I don't want to waste any of the daylight we have left. There's enough crap in here to make some suitable weapons. We'll raid the gym for better supplies tomorrow.”
Nodding to his small team to follow after, he headed out the door.
((I'll make another thread for our little mission. Kali, if you want, you can start a thread for the food run too. =D))

Billy had been sitting there quietly. It seemed after his last little contribution he'd fallen back into deep thought. What he was thinking about, who knows. He finally snapped back in to reality to hear Andeon's last words to Kirin. He totally didn't remember her coming in....wow was he ever out of it or what?
Billy laid down the rolled up canvases that were the his paintings, and shrugged out of his Snuggie before turning it around backwards, so it was more of a jacket. Comically jedi-esque. "Makeshift weapons - I'm on it." One would be amazed what the artistic mind could envision as a weapon.
