Good to know that this place got a jump start from a car battery, I'd lost hope in this place until Kenosha informed me of things doing down in here. Out of all the people I have on my list, Kenosha was the one to tell me...shame on you people (you know who you are!). Just for that I shall put a curse on you all...the curse of not being able to eat anything sweet for 5 years.
-cough- Moving on...that antag system looks interesting, hopefully it works miracles with RP battles...and hopefully I understand it sweatdrop .

And thanks to Lindy for hauling my comatose gaian self up out of the gutter I was laying in and pointing me here...
I'd given up completely on Gaia... well... almost... my lovely woman keeps dragging me back to see this or that topic in ED... but RP-wise... after my extended stay in O/M and FFa... and dealing with the nitwits therein... I was as gone as a nympho crack junkie in a bordello where all the hookers have "lines" leading to interesting places.... sweatdrop

Okay...well, this is the closest thing I could find to a general purpose OOC thread, so I am posting my general purpose OOC question here.
Hi all, I'm Owle. Some of you may remember me from way way way back, from the Grand Wish tournament. Aileen sent me an invite to the guild today and I happily accepted. 3nodding
However, never having been a part of you guys, save for a few very brief glimpses I got, I have no idea what the hell is going on here. I'm so confused I think my head will explode. Anyone want to try and tell me what sort of plots are going down in the ASDF and elsewhere? Anyone want to toss ideas around with me for getting a character who's not all that technologically inclined in here?
By "not all that technologically inclined", I mean the place which she lives is pretty much devoid of phones, computers, and the like. She can operate a stove and isn't afraid of electric lights, but she doesn't particularly like/would have no idea what to do with guns or mecha or anything.

Well first off welcome to hell...I mean the Gaian Goverment!! -throws boxes of chocolates, flowers, confetti and the sort at her- Stories in here...hmm...well from what I have read and seen and been part of, its mostly science fiction related with a dash of militarism and anime and a spec of RPG games (namely FF). As for not technologically inclined stuff uh...I think everything here has to do with all that stuff o_O. An idea for a character...err...I'll get back to you on that...

Heh, I was hoping for more of a rundown of the current plots than an explanation of the genre. I can tell the genre from a glance, but I can't really sort out all the tangled plot threads so easily. What I would really like is a summary of what's currently going on IC, with a particular emphasis on stuff that could get a new character into the thick of things easily. If someone could at least give me a basic rundown about the way things work around here in terms of IC organizations, I would very much appreciate it.
I have a character; I don't need ideas for one, and I don't need her to avoid technology. xp What I do need is a reason for a character who isn't particularly technologically or militarily inclined to wind up associating with, helping, and maybe even joining you all. Aileen mentioned she had formed a new squadron IC, so it would be a good time for new characters to show up, but I can't seem to find any info on that.
The character I have in mind also has met and feels indebted to Nida, but it seems odd to me to have her suddenly stop by for that reason. I think that she also briefly touched minds with Kenosha, but I can't remember.

You'll find some information in my background, Dr. Shun Akimoto's background, and in the ASDF threads discussing places of interest and mecha discussion. Dude, rock. What branch were you leaning toward? (If you're waiting to see plot stuff before you choose, then you'll wind up with ASDF; the GA and GN have long suffered from underdevelopment due to plenty of fair-weather RPers who have come and gone. I'm thinking more what branch appeals to you conceptually.)

I was leaning toward the ASDF, cause that's where you and Aileen are. 3nodding And probably some other people I would recognize. I was scoping out the Aquarion thing that Aileen's working on, and I think it would be rather perfect for someone like Owle.
Owle = unathletic, ridiculously bad in physical combat...but can sense and control mystical energy in a strange kind of way.

I also popped into one of your guys' plot threads about three years ago, after the Grand Wish tournament. Mostly, though, I stay around Commerce and Barton Town. Occasionally I run around in the Breedables forum. Trying to hit on me OOC is futile. xd But I know you weren't, cause I honestly do recognize your name from somewhere. Trying to hit on me IC...that's debatable. It depends on how much I modify my character from her current form and experiences. I need to tweak her a bit so she doesn't drag unnecessary baggage from all the other places she's run about in....

GK isn't the type to "hit on" people anyways... besides the fact that his not quite official yet very much real wife would kick him in the junk repeatedly. xd
It was probably from FFA.... I ran around with Torment/Tacitus some, and pulled a short stint as a defender in a temple thread there. I loved sniping people from atop a Mesa... it cramped their style there so badly. twisted
