Zeke's shoulders tightened as Elizabeth spoke and moved into his sight again. He was choosing to ignore her rather than be angered. He knew it would be a waste seeing as how she was a ghost around plenty of emotions at the time. "Well... you appear as a small weak child when you should be a frail old hag by now. Yes, I suppose you have me beat." The second she becomes weak I'll make sure she never speaks again... He thought ruefully.

He smiled as Elizabeth made herself invisible. "Where were we, Kristi?" He asked as he took his hand back and began to open her age. "Oh yes... you agreed." He opened the cage door wide and looked out, towards the thinner wood which lead to the creek. "When I say one-hundred I will begin looking for you..." He stepped aside, leaving the way open for her.

Then the girl in the other cage spoke for the first time. Since she first asked Zeke what had happened to her. "Why are ya playin' along with it!?" Her accent was a thick Irish Drawl. Zeke turned to her sharply. "Shut your mouth, or I'll force you to play. I promise you... You'll lose. And my winnings won't be to your benefit." His voice was deep and menacing. The girl quickly looked to the ground and didn't speak.
Seemingly pleased, Zeke waited for Kristi to exit her cage and covered his eyes. "one, two, three, twenty-four, eighteen, eighty-nine, twelve..." He was counting randomly on purpose. Why would he play a game fairly? It just wouldn't be the same.

The name's Thalia Antoinette Rose, my Darling

Zombie.

It seemed a strange thing. Being a Zombie. Then though .. Everything seemed strange. Alien. Death? How was it possible that this woman was there, offering strange choices. It never really hits you. Until now. The glowing light of the woman's disappearance didn't affect you. Until now.

Thalia sat on the lush carpet, her hand curled up under her chin as her lips jutted in a pout. In the dark of the room memories flooded back to her. Ones she'd prefer to not have. It was strange those first few days. She had felt so pathetic, so animal, so weak. Flesh. Flesh! It was all she could think. Must. Eat. Must. I smell. Flesh. Pathetic. She hated it. Hated being controlled by that woman .. by whatever she had become.

Zekeil. She met him when they were both stupid and under the spell of their urges. She grew now though. No longer did she live by her cravings. No longer did she hate the animal she was. Now it was beautiful. To be this thing. This Zombie. It was powerful. Enthralling. The feeling of knowing how weak the little humans were. How easily they could be manipulated into trusting you. Hm-hm, trust. Such a silly emotion. It blinds all reason. But she didn't care, she never felt guilty. The delightful feeling of tearing into the flesh .. It was orgasmic. Better than anything she had ever experienced.

Perhaps her new species had changed her. Pffftt. She had always been like this. always had these strange thoughts. These abilities, strengths, the silver tongue she so wickedly abuses now. She's always had them. Being this has just heightened it. Opened them up to her so she could use them to her fullest extent. Like humans. That's all they were. Pawns to be used until they were drained and broken. Unable to fill that hole inside. Pitiful.

Zeke. Oh, darling Zeke. He was a ridiculous creature, truly he was. She was content with the Graveyard, the ability to roam, but at the offering of sharing this house .. Well who could turn down the company? Besides, it was entertaining to watch his little games. Thalia studied his inventory carefully. Searching for a human she could enjoy for awhile. And they were so fun to screw with. So easy to just ..

Her green eyes fluttered open, glowing in the darkness as if electricity was being pumped through her. Thalia stood, her black dress flowing in a circle around her, enveloping her figure as it fluttered in the invisible breeze. She marched from her habitat into the open, where the cages containing humans lay.

A presence. There was someone else here. A wandering figure somewhere beyond her vision. Probably a damn ghost. With a huff she turned her attention to one of the cages. The open one. An amused smirk now played along the edges of her full lips. So he got one to play the game, eh? Hmm. She had figured there wouldn't be a human stupid enough to actually try it. To actually try to escape from Zeke. Really, sometimes the stupidity was astounding. How it was possible they could remember how to breathe- calm down Thalia. She stopped her thoughts and took a deep breath.

When she finally regained control, her eyes focused on Zeke's figure in the shadows, counting a head-start for the human. Her head lolled to the right as she watched him, now curious as to how the game will play out.

Joshua

"Choose."

What? How strange was this? Who was this woman and why did she think she was some kind of god? You couldn't just change who a person was, or alter their fate by giving them a new life.

Or could you.

The same process in his mind occurred when he was bet to climb a tall building. The adrenaline rush, of being able to say something was done, was too great. But .. What to choose?

The woman just stood there patiently, slowly blinking as she stared at his face. To pick, Joshua decided to choose what had first struck his interest: The name that had intrigued him into listening to her words.

"Ghost."

At first he thought he was catching fire, but he then realized the woman was disappearing in a brilliant flash of bright lights that heated his skin.

--

Checking up on the others was an emotionally conflicting job. On one hand, he liked the company and the surge of power he received from the visits, for a human was usually around. But on the other hand, each visit only disappointed him further. They were disgusting beings, they way they treated the humans. He felt almost guilty for feeding off the emotions, even though he couldn't help it. They always emanated fear or anger in strong, passionate waves.

He shimmered in and out of visibility while he strutted through the streets. He still felt older, like he was his normal self, and he would catch himself acting like it at times. He'd look at clothes and try them on for fun, only discovering when he put them on that they were 10 sizes too big due to his child form.

Today though was different than usual. Normally he'd wander until he found a good emotion to feed off, or he'd find one of the others to follow around silently. Or maybe, he'd go to the pond in the park and skip stones for hours, just to be alone. or stand on the roof of a tall building, just to say he did it, even though no one else would ever know.

Today, though, emotions were scarce. Something was off with the humans, or at least the ones nearby. Just stress, and he was growing tired of that. He was almost to a point of returning to his normal state when he caught sight of a familiar figure heading towards the Cemetery. Anne. The Vampire was a frequent of his, he'd find her wandering often and just follow along. She wasn't like Zeke or Thalia, usually wasn't found with a human and she even seemed to feel guilty when she did drink, which struck him as strange.

She'd grow into it, he always assumed.

Nevertheless she was walking and Josh was quite bored and growing lonesome. Still invisible, he kept pace behind her for awhile before the air seemed to ripple, a young boy stepping out of it. "Anne." The quiet voice was shaky and small, matching the child's young form when he stood so close to her, as if seeking protection.

Zeke closed his eyes and inhaled her scent as he heard her run. "Oh my lady, that is good." He opened his eyes early and swallowed down the saliva that was beginning to flood his mouth, demanding satisfaction. His eyes now had a faint glow to them, the hunger and his instincts were simmering.
He suspected that the fact that he was almost predatory as a human made him an even better hunter now.
He bit down on his lip as the hunger carried on to an almost sexual need.
Then, he noticed Thalia, standing there. His delightfully untouchable roomie.
"Hello there, sunset." He smiled a slow grin at her. He knew she was hopelessly homosexual but it didn't hurt to flirt. "What brings you here? I thought you were going to sleep in, for sure." <********..." He couldn't. Conversation was beyond his state of mind at this point.
He quickly unzipped his jacket and tossed it on top of Justus' cage and pulled his sweater over the top of his head and dropped it to the floor.
He was breathing deeply now, pulling in her scent as he became more and more ravenous. He now felt that the trick wouldn't be finding her. It would be restraining himself. His head turned in the direction of which the scent was strongest and ran. His running was definitely quick, he prided himself on that. However, when he arrived to a certain thicket he slowed. Her scent was now all around him rather than in a specific trail. He walked over to a tree, opening his lips slightly and pressing them against the bark. He could taste the smell on the tree. That wasn't right... He turned to a tree a little farther away and did the same thing. How could he taste it here and smell it behind him at the same... <******** had set a trick. He had already wasted 11 minutes running and about 5 minutes walking around tasting trees.
His eyes darted around before they focused in one direction and he resumed his running.

ANNE MARIE RIEGEL

Oh yea. Are you nervous?
Look, just let this happen...

Anne's eyes drifted toward the stirring sensation and back again towards the cemetery. She knew it was a ghost. She was used to Josh following her at this point. She was always on the alert for it in case he was around when she was about to drink. To her it was private. Almost intimate. She didn't want a child, even if he wasn't actually a child, to see it.

She reached up, brushing her waving hair away from her face and exhaling. The blood in her stomach was making her feel ill now. The way it was just slushing around. Maybe she should have gotten some sort of sweet treat before she fed. Maybe then it wouldnb't feel so unsettling.

"Anne."

She froze and looked down. He was so adorable. Those little dimples. And the way his little voice seemed to tremble for someone to care. At times like this it was nearly impossible to believe he had actually grown into a man.

"Joshua." She said his name in return before holding her hand toward him, offering the affectionate gesture. She caught herself, treating him like a child again. Damn, how these emotions conflict.

She pulled her hand back awkwardly and smiled apologetically. "I'm sorry. Motherly instinct is demanding I shelter a child as my own."
She felt sad for a brief moment. Children. Something she could never ever have.

"What made you decide to appear?" She asked as she resumed her walk, in a slower pace.

Spin me round again and rub my eyes

Justus Colleen Mariander was stuck "Trust me, dear! America will be great! We'll move into a lovely little home where the sun will always shine and the rain will barely occur." <******** the warm weather. That was the dumbest ******** thing she had ever agreed to.
Justus was pissed. She had lived in America for only 10 years and already she was locked in a cage by some man eating monster who pinched her for laughs and made fun of her words. She reached her hand through her bars and felt the roof of her cage until she felt the material of Zeke's jacket. She clutched it with the tips of her fingers and pulled it from the top, slinging it onto the ground. She proceeded to spit onto her capture's jacket and curse it in a language that would make a sailor blush.
Yes, she was definitely a potty mouth when she was angry. And right now, she was furious. "I WANT YOU TO DIE! DIE!" She breathed deeply as she looked around. If I had a cup I would I would pour piss on that coat.
She pulled herself back from the edge of the cage, suddenly remembering that there was another zombie still here. She glared in the zombie's direction. Oh how she hated them. She hardly had any encounters with Thalia but she knew she got along with Zeke. She was pretty much the only one. Justus looked into the direction both Kristi and Zeke had ran. She wondered is he had caught her jet.

Joshua

The child looked up at the stunning vampire and smiled softly, noticing her love for his dimples. Even though he is actually older than Anne, him being twenty and her being seventeen, he knew how motherly she sometimes treated him, if he allowed himself to be seen. At times he would catch himself thinking of her as a mother, but he would always stop himself and fade back out to invisibility.

His little heart fluttered at the affection in her voice when she said his name. He may really be twenty, but the child he was trapped as quested more affection and care than he normally would. And Joshua was a loner as a ghost.

His happy smile faded at the sight of her hand, and he felt himself drowning in her sadness when she pulled it away. He could tell she was upset. At the mention of mothers, which occurred often due to the female's natural maternal intuition, both of them would withdraw. Him, because he hated being a child, and her because of her own private reasons. He assumed it was the fact that Vampire's were infertile. But he never would ask.

He nodded at her words and kept alongside her as she walked, although his walk was more of a float.

Truth be told, he wasn't entirely sure why he decided to appear. Maybe it was his childish need for affection. Or his urge to collect emotion, knowing that he could have easier connection to a human emotion this way.

For a moment he felt like his twenty year old self as he shrugged his shoulders and spoke softly. "Maybe I'm just tired of being invisible."

Joshua looked up in front of them as the Cemetery grew nearer. So far, he hadn't seen Anne doing much effort in humans. No lovers, no pets, no slaves. It was possible she was content with occasionally feeding, but that didn't seem an appropriate lifestyle. Not for eternity. "Have you decided anything on a human yet?"

"That would be a reason." She commented, nodding her head faintly. She wondered if that was the reason other ghosts had when they knocked objects off shelves or pulled unwitting humans from their beds. She shivered. She should never have had slipped into that theater. Scary movies freaked her out. How ironic.

She raised her eyebrows when he brought up the human thing. "Ah, I... " She shook her head. "I was actually heading to take a slave from Zeke, maybe a child whose lost it's parents..." When she had thought about it silently to herself it seemed righteous. Taking a child whose parents had died because of another race or vampire, a child who could never truly fit back into the normal world. Giving it a chance of having someone love and care for it. But now? Saying it seemed selfish. Like she was jumping to gain from such sorrow. "Maybe I just shouldn't tamper. Things are fine now as they are." That was a lie. She was lonely. Everyone else seemed to ignore her in the cemetery. Even around the humans. They all seemed to brush her off. Occasionally a cute guy would talk with her or a girl who was bored out of her mind but she didn't really stand out. She wasn't plain. She was pretty, but most people thought of her beauty as 'cute' now. In these days girls were 'hot' and sexy. Most of her conversations took place with older people. Not that it bothered her. She enjoyed the company of older people but it was also pointless. All the friends she made passed away quickly.
She pulled herself from her thoughts. She considered before she spoke.
"Joshua, don't you ever feel... lonely? I don't mean the 'oh I'm so miserable, no one likes me' but just... lonely? Like you should have someone here? But you don't? They're gone and you don't know why or since when or where they went?" Her face wasn't sad... just thoughtful. She felt this way often. Like she was waiting on someone or supposed to be looking for them.

Thalia laughed as she stared at the spot in front of the cage where Zeke had just stood. He really was a blast. such a shame he didn't have much time to flirt, he had waited too long. Really he should have known better. Take a little nibble of your prize beforehand, it helps quench your hunger. Though, Thalia did that because she enjoyed the chase better than actually catching her victim. Zeke was more of a catch-the-victim guy than a chaser. He didn't plan well enough to be a chaser.

There was a certain electric charge left in the room through his absence. She could feel his sexual energy from the excitement, and it just made her laugh harder. He really was a fun roommate. Watching him mess with the humans was for the same reason she would sometimes try to sleep with him in his bed. Because he was fun. He knew how to tease, but he could never make it much farther. He liked a challenge, Thalia liked to bet.

Her attention was caught by the leftover human, who was currently yelling in her adorably thick Irish accent at the jacket of old Zekeil. Spitting on it too. Oh this girl was just charming! Really. It brought a smile to her face to see the pure hatred this female had, how rebellious the action was, though it was awfully silly considering her predicament. She was trapped in a cage by a flesh-driven Zombie and she was angry enough to spit and curse his jacket. Priceless.

She wants him to die. Hmph. If only that were possible, eh?

Suddenly Justus back off the cage and began to glare in Thalia's direction. Whoa. Back up. Thalia began to laugh, again. She really was mad at her. She truly hated her. Oh how lovely! She hadn't even cast a glance in this girls direction, and already she had an enemy.

She didn't know how Zeke would feel about her playing with one of his toys, so she tried to control herself as she took one step towards the cage.

"Having fun in there, are we Love?" Her pouty lips jutted out again as she looked down upon the filthy creature. "Wouldn't happen to be jealous, would you. No attention for the Irish lass." Her eyes glinted as she spoke, hissing out the word lass in hopes of striking a nerve.

Kristi didn't even bother to look behind, she couldn't waste anytime with doing that. She just had to keep looking forward and try her best to confuse him, keep him off her track. She was looking straight ahead, paying no attention to the ground below her. Her ankle suddenly hit something that was sharp and pointy. She fell straight to the ground and landed right in the mud. She sighed, feeling wet and nasty all over. She felt a pain in her ankle and looked back. She was bleeding... She had tripped on a vine with thorns all over it. Her blood was on the vine, maybe that would some what distract Zeke.

Kristi couldn't waste anymore time, she had been there for almost a whole minute. She ripped her a part of her shirt off and stood up. She wiped the blood off her ankle and through the piece of shirt into the woods in the opposite direction. She continued to ran, watching the path and the ground ahead of her. She wouldn't make that mistake again. The sad thing is that she knew she couldn't run forever, but she was still trying to do so. Soon, she would have to find a place to hide, but where could she possibly hide?

Look in the mirror
and who stands behind?

I am the one who’s haunting you…

User ImageThere was once again a soft shiver in the air as Elizabeth appeared, standing over Kristi. The fear, the nerves, the tension had already built her up, and it was now a woman that stood over the dark-haired girl. She didn't speak, only watched. Why would she speak? Her presence would be enough to draw Zeke.

When the girl began to run again, Elizabeth floated alongside and spoke up at last, but her words were flat and unhelpful. "You can't hide here. You can't hide anywhere. He smells you, you know. Like a bloodhound. That's how they find you." She shrugged one shoulder the way she had earlier, but now that she was in her adult shape it looked elegant rather than uncertain. "All you can do is keep running and try to cover your trail. Like you would for a dog."

Then she faded for a brief moment, in and out, and when she came back she was a child once more. The enormous blue eyes stared up at Kristi for a brief second. Then the little girl turned sadly away and faded. Even her presence was gone from the air.

When Elizabeth grieved for those who were so mistreated by the others of her kind (or, well, the other undead, anyway), she preferred to do it privately.

Kristi was running when she felt a strange presence near her... she recognized the feeling of being cold and jumped slightly. The ghost named Elizabeth spoke, but she did not turn to face her. She had to keep running and she hoped the ghost understood. She listened to what Elizabeth was saying and she understood... she wasn't safe anywhere... if she were to hide, Zeke would just sniff her out. She had to keep running, no matter how much it hurt to do so.

Kristi turned to Elizabeth and was about to thank her, but the ghost disappeared. She whispered softly, "Thank you..." She turned back to her path and continued to run, not wanting to waste any time. She stopped for only a moment and wipe some more blood off her ankle. She smeared it on multiple trees around her and then took a sharp turn to the left. Maybe that would help to throw him off. Just a couple more minutes and she could get water, hopefully... unless he ignored their bargain.

User ImageAbra sighed, twisting her dark hair up and back as the final accessory. It was always a pain to get it fastened properly, but she couldn't just leave it down. Too easy for some unsatisfied customer to claim that her hair had fallen in their food if they decided they wanted something else instead. Abra didn't need the hassle.

Finally, she had it done up just so. Slipping into the black heels that finished off Eternity's "uniform" (black sweater, black heels, short black skirt), she walked out of the apartment, turning to lock the door behind her. She had twenty minutes before the start of shift, but the club she waitressed at was just down the street. She could take her time.

Hopefully nothing would go wrong today. She'd already had enough of that for a lifetime.

Spin me round again and rub my eyes

Justus arched an eyebrow. Thalia was using the same tactic as Zeke had used only a few moments earlier. She would handle it the same way. Justus tried to concoct an American accent as she spoke. "You know what would really be fun?" She asked in a false happy voice. "Getting out of here and peeling the skin from your bones." Justus nodded her head. "Yes, that sounds like the perfect way to entertain myself."
She felt as if her skin was bound to erupt into flames. This anger, it ate at her. It always had. The doctors even gave her medicine to keep her calm after she had attacked her PE coach. "He only make the 'irls change inta those shorts! He's wantin' to get a cheap wood out of it!" She had stated but apparently that didn't matter. She beat the right s**t out of him after he had called her a stubborn b***h.
Now she wanted to do the same to this woman.
"And as for attention? Not everyone has quite the urge to whore themselves as much as you creatures." She narrowed her eyes as her accent came back. "You seem to enjoy the right trash that you are. Bloody gross." Her eyes were flaming. She couldn't quite remember the last time she'd been itching so harshly for her pills.

User ImageI'll eat you alive and once you seep in, under my skin...

20 minutes now.
He was growing anxious. Usually he had them pinned underneath him by now.
He stopped abruptly when he smelt fresh blood... in the opposite direction. "Damn it."
He turned around and walked for a bit. He was beginning to feel foolish running around in circles like a lost dog running up to strange trucks looking for its master.
She was going to get the water. He wouldn't be able to keep it from her at this point unless she came running to him. He opened his arms and closed his eyes waiting to see if someone would run into him. He did it more so for amusement toward himself rather than actually expecting someone to run to him. That would be a first in years. He dropped his arms back to his side and began running to the blood.
It was 7 minutes before he actually got top the first source of the smell. He leaned down and picked up the branch. Yes, there was blood. He picked it up and almost moaned softly as he swallowed in the scent. People... ah people. When they hurt themselves and just tossed a little piece of themselves and a bit of pain like this away. He wondered how they would react if they knew someone else could respond so strongly to their blood. It wasn't quite the same, he assumed, when vampires smelt the blood. He had watched Anne one night as she stared at the water. He had brought a finger home with him as a midnight snack in a baggy. He had opened the bag, out of sight to see how she would react. She had merely looked in his direction then walked off. He assumed she knew someone was trying to mess with her. For him the smell meant more food. More life to succumb to his hunger. He loved the feeling of power, the feeling, as he smelt her blood, that she was at his mercy. A poor wounded animal.

With the smell of blood fresh in his senses he was prepared to track her quicker but instead found that the clever girl had set the same trap this time. But now, oh now he could sense Elizabeth out there, and what do you know? Some of the blood could be smelled from that direction. Soon the feeling of her presence disappeared. "Hey, Kristi!" He shouted as the timer came to 32 minutes. "I think you better run from your little friend the next time she approaches you! That's cheating!" He meant that to the both of him. Elizabeth helped her, but also worked as a huge flashing light.

...There's nothing, there's nothing in this world, that could wash you away.
