"It's a nobel job to be sure..." He nodded with a mysterious tone behind that British accent. "And by the looks of them... You do quite the job...I was surprised half of these were as old as they were... I happen to know a collector who'd love to make a purchase...ecspecially ones in this state..." He reached out and gingerly touched the spine of one of the books in reach, smiling softly to it, as if it were an old friend than simply a inanimate object on a shelf.

He was such a dream... Kitty took a step closer to him, trying to make sure that he was real. Though, really, how could she doubt that?
"Truly? It would be wonderful to get some of these off my hands... As long as they would treasure the works and take care of them, then I would be honored to have them here. But it's closing time, and I do have to close up shop. And you still need your gloves." She looked at him with large brown eyes, all filled with anticipation and dreams of how this collector would take away half her books for their very own library...

He seemed to blush a bit, looking down to take her hands in his. "How about I leave them here? .... It'll be my excuse to come see you again...." He gave her a charming yet shy smile as he kissed the back of her hand gently.
He pulled back and away only to retrieve his coat and edge past her through the door way, though stopped as he was wedged somewhat between her and the frame of the door. "Until next time... Good evening Kitty..." He spoke so formally, though his tone was soft and almost loving as his eyes seemed to pull hers in momentarily.
He acted as if he were going to kiss her, with the way he stared, but instead merely nodded before turning to leave.

She was breathless, light-headed, and so filled with hopes and dreams that she could have stood there all night with her thoughts alone. But Kitty did eventually pull herself away from the doorway, if only to stare at the one he had just left through. "I think... my tale has begun."

The next day, somewhat early, when things had slown down, the door opened once again, though instead of the dashing Nathan coming through, it was simply Jessica, who seemed to be utterly floating into the bookstore with a dreamy smile on her face. "Kitty? Are you here today?" She seemed to sing out as she came to the front counter.
She had on a pair of warm boots, skinny jeans, and pretty well fitted t and short jacket. Her hair was done up messily, pushed back with a pair of slender reading glasses acting as a headband. She looked like her...though differen. Not only was she showing less skin, but her whole air was just..happier. It all looked more spontaneous really...comfortable and fun instead of sexy and promiscuous.

Kitty waved from behind a shelf to her friend. "Over here! And when am I ever not here?" She laughed and held her arms out for a hug. Kitty may have been featherbrained sometimes, but she could be a fierce friend, especially when it really counted. "You look like you've got a story to tell."

Jess smiled and came to embrace her friend.
She had known Kitty for a while... She had met her briefly as a child when her sister was still alive, though grew closer to her afterwards. When she was sane and normal and not her crazy party alter ego, she would be here with Kitty, just talking and helping out with the books on slow days.
"Oh do I ever!~" She smiled, biting her lip as she leaned against the shelf. "I met this guy...." She started out but interjected herself. "But not like the others! He's just a friend... but... He's so amazing Kitty!" She pushed off gently form the bookshelf and span in a little circle, arms brought in tight.

"I met one, too!!" Kitty immediately was full of life, like someone had just poured champagne into her. All bubbles and spirits, she nearly shook Jess by the shoulders just to get her to tell. "Come on! What does he look like? What makes him so amazing? I'll say what happened to me after you say what happened to you!"
It was like they'd both reverted back to high school, which was either cute or rather frightening.

Jess smiled and beamed at the thought of her dear friend finding a guy as well. For her guys were just a passing fancy, so this was a big deal that Kitty had one in her life.
Though she did as suggested and began describing the kind sould just the other day.
"Well..." She bit her lip and looked up at the ceiling thinking. "He's got this... soft air about him. He's so kind...and I'm so comfortable around him... He's working towards being a History Major!" She added her eyes widening. "And- As far as I can tell...he's a hard worker, and one of the best men I've ever met in my entire life." Her gaze was dreamy and trailed off with her voice. "And his eyes..." She murmured more to herself then, along with a few more physical qualities that stuck with her.
But really it was all very un-Jessica. Usually the first thing she bragged on was his physical state. She had never spoken about anyone this way before, which was sure to shock, even Kitty, who had enough patience to pu up with Shallow Jessica, and knew the lovely one too...

It certainly did shock Kitty that all of a sudden her friend was telling her about a guy's intelligence, kindness, and work ethic rather than his hot physique. So many times she had to hear about clubbing escapades, each time hoping that she wouldn't get herself hurt, or worse.
"He really must be something then. Have I ever seen him before? Where'd you meet him?" There was no way she could have met someone like that at a bar or club. The mystery pulled her in, so much so that Kitty was sitting on her countertop with no regards to any customers who might come through the door.

"At the Cafe in town...He works there..." She sighed leaning agaisnt the counter and closing her eyes a moment. "I as having a rough night and he walked me till i called a cab. Gave me his coat to wear and everything..." She blushed lightly, looking down at her feet.
"I'm actually meeting him soon...i told him i had to visit my dear friend kitty first..." She winked, turning to her.
"Now, enough about me, who's this poor man who's found himself entangled in the wonderful and loving web of Miss Kitty Hm???" She asked, resting her elbows on the counter and holding her head to look up at her friend slyly.

Kitty had been to the cafe many times, and so had probably seen or been served by Alex more than once. But, invited to tell her own story, Kitty hopped off the counter and began the most animated telling of simple events.
"He was looking for a book for his retiring professor," she began, and soon the entire string of events was being laid out before Jessica in excruciating detail. It was like all the works Kitty had ever read were working their eloquence right into her speech, until she was illustrating the very last moments she had shared with this enigmatic Nathan.
"...and he seemed like he was going to kiss me, but went away... I've no idea when this collector will get here, but I'm waiting!"

Jess sat in wide eyed amusement as Kitty told her story. She had never seen her friend so lit up with pure joy. Not since she first started working in the shop. It warmed her heard and made her just as giddy. "Oh Kitty! When do i get to meet this guy?" She asked, though just then the door opened. A young man dressed in a sharp suit and red tie entered. Jes cocked an eyebrow, feeling as if she knew the man from somewhere, tho wasn't sure where. "Ah- Kitty..." He smiled and blushed, unintentionally as he came up to the front desk.

"Nathan!" Her eyes and attention were stolen by this dashing man, who struck her as charming as the famous Damian Centurion, if not better. "The collector, is he coming today?" Yet just as his lips parted for an answer, she had flitted over to the next important thing. "But ah! My manners. this is my friend, Jessica. Jess, this is Nathan. I was just telling her about all the work you did in the back room and how beautiful it looks there." She was beaming with pride.

Nathan smiled mischievously as he turning in a circle. "He's already here..." He explained smoothly, now explaining the reason for his appearance. Though he turned to Jessica, he kept his eyes downcast.
"And a pleasure to meet you..." He smiled with a slight bow. Jessica was a bit skeptical but nodded and shook his hand. "Jessica Darling. Nice to meet you finally..." She said as kindly as she could but couldn't help but get a weird vibe from this guy, ecspecially after he heard her name. He seemed ever so slightly tense.
Though the awkwardness between them would soon pass for Jessica had to go. "Kitty I am awfully sorry but i'll leave you and your friend alone..." She gave her a hug before adding quietly. "...Be careful though..." Before pulling away and taking her leave to meet up with Alex.
