James was battling his inner thoughts, to simply turn and flee back to the north; the only thing stopping him was that the airship ride this time might just take everything out of him. He could also just close down, turn everything off and stop it all. He was good at that, he knew it was bad but to feel nothing and care for nothing, was sometimes peace. James took a look at Din however, if he did it; it always seemed Din became so clear he could not touch him, and the daemon looked sad while he did do it.
Din was almost pacing, the shock of how much he had hurt James was making his body faze in and out; but not enough to drop Festa luckily for the little guy was still on his back. “Festa what do I do?” He asked the other daemon silently, panicked and hoping desperately that James did not close down. On a quick thought he changed, white became spotted and the wolf features melted to that of a snow cat, and with a rumbling purr he rushed against James leg and expected a hand to go to his back but his human paused and was looking at Festa with interest.
James had been in his own world and when he felt Din against him he looked to pet the spotted fur, but suddenly he looked at Festa. Again here was a male daemon with a male human, like him. It took a minute but James eyes widened and he glanced to Hector briefly just as the other spoke. A warm bed, a place he would not have to worry where his next meal came from; but there were more people. However Hector continued and James thought about it, glancing briefly behind his shoulder they way they had come. He could still follow the treed marks and go back to wait at the harbor.
Din had changed back to a snow wolf, nuzzling James hand softly as he was well aware of what his human was thinking. “Ok.” Was all he said and he took up his bag again and walked past Hector into the inn, turning to wait for everyone with a small crooked smile that seemed out of place for the shock was enough for James to look scared.
Din followed, looking at Hector briefly and telling Festa to thank him. “James would have freaked out much more if I had only spoken into him mind, and if we were alone he would have closed up.” Gold eyes looked to James and watched the youth fidget; no longer certain of what he should do or act like. “I think he might have made a slight connection from looking at you, not sure; but I and James would never tell.”
