Demi smiled in relief at the news, but it was brief as the male delivered the last bit of news. The little bobtail hadn't realized that Tempo had had kittens, and the fact that humans had taken them irritated her. Flipping her ears back, the girl padded after the pair of cats as they turned to leave. "If that's where Mir-sensei is, then I'm coming with you! I also know Tempo a little; he's a good cat and I wanna help you save his kits." As she followed them, Demi cast a glance back at Dhiren in question, the other wearing a peculiar expression.
Tempo. The name of that cat brought back unpleasant memories, but that wasn't the issue. That not only had the b*****d somehow had kits, but had them stolen by humans as well made the Somali's fur bristle. The scent of blood wafted up to them again, and the tom nodded to the other cats, wordlessly agreeing to join them. He didn't particularly like the way the male had eyed him, but now was not the time to begin unnecessary quarrels. Falling into step beside the young bobtail and behind the two strangers, he growled softly, "Since we'll be relying on one another, we should probably get acquainted... I'm Dhiren, and the runt goes by the name Demi." Flicking his bushy tail, he lowered his ears a little and continued, "We'll help you however we can." Although he didn't admit it easily, the grumpy cat really did have a soft spot for kits, and his hatred for humans only furthered his desire to see them, and Alice, out safely.

HeeChul had been following along silently, for once not calling all attention to himself. This was for Tempo's sake, after all. He could be an attention whore when there weren't mangey mutts slobbering all over the place. He followed Tempo's movements carefully, watching with bright blue eyes as the scene developed before him. This.. was disgusting. Why would anyone do this sort of thing?
HeeChul was not really one for emotions--unless it was anger and throwing things around, but he felt slight tears pricking at his eyes. He glared and did what he could to fight them back. This was no time to be a weakling. He bit his lip a little as he stared over to their leader. He was surprised the other was able to keep cool--though that was the reason he was such a good leader. If they threw a fit, they would be caught. He had to calm his frazzled nerves.
For once he felt a slight weakness, bile rising up to the top of his throat. These.. assholes.
He took a small step forward but paused when he heard one of the cats in the cages shift just the tinest bit. He fought back even breathing for that moment. The very quiet noise already had him on edge.
Maybe he wasn't as great of an assassin as he thought.

Ara had taken Ji's help getting up after he had killed the dog that she had been attacking. She was glad someone had helped cause she wouldn't have held on much longer. She wiped the blood off her face from biting the dog and smiled. "Thanks." she said as she picked up her staff and smiled. She looked around as the rest of the dogs were taken care of and looked for Morph to make sure he was safe. She saw him further away and moved along with everyone towards the building. She stood at the window as they all went inside. She watched them leave into the building and wondered what was going on in there. But she kinda didn't want to know what was happening. She looked around for the cats who hadn't caught up to them yet and stood holding her staff watching for someone or something bad. She chewed on her lips a little and ran a finger over her large scar on her chest. She was glad no one had said anything about it...and no one seemed to have really looked at it much. So she felt a little better even though she wanted to claw out some human eyes for stealing the kits and who knew what they would look like when they got them out of there.
Spicy Marmalade! Now that it's exploded into being, seize hold of this evening's chance.

HyunSoon was tired. Exhausted, really. No matter how much he slept, he was still always so tired, and he hurt. His head hurt especially, constant headaches plaguing him even in his sleep. Not that he was really going to complain - he had seen cats coming back with stitches, with limbs missing...
Curling up in the corner of his cage, HyunSoon shifted, ignoring the shifting in the darkness and beginning to drift off...before he heard it.
Noise.
Other cats, and not cats in here. Cats outside the cages. Jerking to his feet, his fur puffing up and his ears laying back, he stared out through the bars of his cage and trembled.
Cats were outside.
Stepping quickly after Tempo, JiYong glanced over his shoulder to make sure the others could get by safely. The humans seemed preoccupied for the moment, good.
Stepping into the room, he turned and almost ran into Tempo, his eyes going wide. Cats. Oh god so many...his babies were in here. He could feel it. "They're in here, Tempo, I know they are," he whispered, all but running past the forest cat and staring through the bars. Most of the cats were asleep, were drugged, were too lethargic to really move, and it made his heart sink as he continued to look, trying to find even one of their kittens in here.

Tempo swallowed thickly, unsure of how to take in this sight...all the cages. They were filled with cats, kittens...each with ID numbers along the cages, and some that were empty had big red DECEASED written on them.
He felt his heart sink as he saw those signs...were his kittens dead? When JiYong turned to him, he snapped out of his daze and stared at the man in horror. But it was when JiYong rushed forward that he panicked. "Wait, Ji--" He heard the door close as the last cat came inside, then footsteps outside. Freezing, he made a motion for the others to shush, and moved to step after his lover, looking at the lower cages as he went. "HeeChul--Alice..you know what they look like, scout for them," he whispered, motioning for them to do so. Panic was hitting him hard, he had no idad what to do...
But then he spotted one of his children, puffed up and looking horrified. "HyunSoon," he called, without thinking, then everything erupted into panic with the cats that were dazed and only partially awake. They started wailing, kittens calling for their parents and adults screaming to be released. Some had gone into such a frenzy they began to slam themselves against cages--they knew help was here...
But how could he explain to them that he wasn't there to help them? Instantly, Tempo rushed to grab at the bars and scale them, up to HyunSoon's cage, seeing SeungMoon in there as well, curled up in a corner and obviously drugged to sleep. "Baby," reaching through the bars to his kitten, he touched his face, then began to pull at the locks, trying to figure them out.

SunBae was in a daze. His sister, MiSun, was in the next cage over...and he was worried about her. She stopped replying to his calls a day or so ago, and his eyes burned so badly he couldn't even bring himself to open them.
He could smell his other siblings...could smell the pain and torment of all the cats around him. But now what..? They were locked away, fated to suffer at the hands of those damn humans in the morning as well...
But then everything got noisy, and he heard a familiar voice. He knew exactly who it was--then it got flooded out by the screams and cries of the other cats. Instantly he was to his feet, and he slammed into the bars of his cage, not knowing where they were at the time. "Daddy!" SunBae sobbed, reaching his paws out of the bars to claw at the air. The bars rattled from all directions, and he felt like he was being torn apart...would they get them all out? Was MiSun even alive..? What about YunHee, SeungMoon, DaeKyun, HyunSoon...he heard him say his brother's name, so he was reassured that at least one of his siblings were still alive.
--- --- ---
"What the hell is that?" The doctors had been sent into a frenzy. They often dealt with panicking animals, but not during this late of an hour. The dogs in the holding kennels now riled up and began barking, growling...clawing at the steel flooring of their cages.
Their 'office dogs' of sorts leaped to their feet and rushed over to the cat's room, the rats in the cages to the next room beginning to scream and claw at their glass enclosures while the dogs slammed against the door, unable to get it open.
"Calm down!" One of the doctors yelled, standing from his spot at a computer to make his way over to his dogs, "Hush! HUSH! You're upsetting the animals!" He had yet to spot the cats that were climbing up the cages, but a few nurses had left their areas to check and see what was going on, whispering as all the animals went insane.

MiSun could only hear a soft ringing. It was persistent - had been for days, and it was bothering her. Headache after headache and at one point her ears had started bleeding. They didn't hurt, but the ringing made them feel weird. The ringing covered everything else. She had been brought back only shortly before, laying on her side and staring across the room at some of the other cats tiredly, wishing she could hear them talking, but the damn ringing...
Then her cage started to shake, the cats across the room were slamming against the walls and bars and pawing and what was going on? Stumbling shakily to her feet, she tried to peer out the bars but she couldn't see the floor. Letting out a panicked mewl she couldn't hear, her ears flattened as she shrunk to the back of her cage, trembling. Were they coming for more cats again? This late..? What was going on?!
Hissing as he felt the cages tremble, HyunSoon quickly began to back up, his haunches trembling. But when one of the cats spoke, his ears immediately perked and he ran forward so fast the slam of his head against the bars made his head ring. "Papa?!" he whined, reaching out and trying to feel around. They came for them?!
Watching Tempo scale the cages, Jiyong let out a sob and quickly climbed up after him. One, two..."Baby it's Daddy," he murmured, reaching in to touch HyunSoon's face. "Calm down, calm down, we're here. Where are your brothers and sisters?" When HyunSoon pointed, JiYong began to hop up the cages in the direction he pointed, cooing and trying to calm him with words. There was SunBae, and MiSun. "BaeBae," he practically sobbed, reaching inside the cage to stroke SunBae's fur. God, they were alive...two more, where were the other two?

Alice couldn’t hear anything… anyone when she walked into the doors of the medical room. The cages, stacked on top of one another… She bit back the bile building in her throat and swallowed. Everything became loud in an instant, drowning out all the horrors that had paralyzed her. Her head began to throb, Alice bit the inside of her cheek to the point it bled.
With hesitant steps she walked forward to the cages on the bottom row going to her knees and reaching a hand out to the cage. The kitten inside obviously didn’t belong to Tempo or Ji... but he looked so pathetic, screaming for his mother, screaming for some kind of familiarity. It was then Alice realized why it was this kitten looked so helpless, his eyes were glazed over with a thick blue film…
He was blind. Alice covered her mouth with a shaking hand. They were in for much more then they had thought.
…
Dae was silent, he was always silent now…. Even when his siblings cried out he couldn’t manage to bring his voice to the surface. What that woman had done to him… It was like he couldn’t open his mouth without screaming so he had forgotten how to speak.
The only thing the kitten could do was stick a arm out of the cage, hoping that it somewhat stood out before he himself passed out.
…
Ishtar stared at the dog with wide eyes, shaking his head no. “I came in through the front door. I came to see what was happening here. The Anbu sent me. I also believe that I have a few friends in the building that will need help.”
The cat fell silent as the flashlight lingered in the cage they occupied. Why was it this dog was protecting him? Weren’t they the sworn enemies of cats to begin with?
“Where are the exits in this place?”
…
She pressed her forehead to his shoulder. Something was wrong? Vaguely she could hear dogs barking in the distance, but she tried to hide her impatience. Eventually Mei just grabbed his arm and dug her claws into Ri’s arm. “We are needed, they can find their own way babe… just… lets go now.”

Tempo snarled at the locks, before the spring to them broke off and the cage door screeched open. Gasping, he moved off to the side and pulled the door open, reaching in to pull HyunSoon to his chest. Propping himself on the edge of the cage, he reached further in to pluck up the unconscious SeungMoon. s**t he couldn't carry all these kittens...
Holding the both of them with one arm, he slid down the bars of the cage--catching sight of YunHee as he did so, "Ji, Yunnie's here," he called over the screaming, getting swiped at and pleaded with to let them out as well. As soon as his feet reached the floor, he set his children down carefully and kissed HyunSoon's head reassuringly, "I'll be back, baby," looking up, he furrowed his brow at Alice, "Alice! Come here and get these two," he wasn't going to put up with s**t right now..yes, he felt bad for the other cats here, but his babies were first priority, damnit.
Back up the cages he went, and he came up to Ji--seeing MiSun just off to the side of SunBae's cage. Her pathetic mewls made his heart ache, even though they were a little...off, he couldn't put a finger on why. "Sun," he cooed softly, trying to comfort her, even if they fell upon deaf ears. Again, he worked with the lock, specifically beating at the spring to snap it off. The cages weren't as strong as they might look...thank god. MiSun's cage was opened, and he reached in for her, unable to quite reach her.
--- --- ---
SunBae finally opened his eyes when he was touched--but could only see a dark shadow in front of him, nothing else. The familiar touch made him sniffle, mewling and sobbing, both paws coming up to grab at his father's arm, begging to be let out of the cold cage.
He heard Tempo speaking to MiSun, which just made the tears flow faster--she was alive, too..and they'd already gotten HyunSoon and SeungMoon. Where was DaeKyun? "Daddy, let me out," he cried, paw extending to knock against the bars blindly, unsure of what to do or say at this point.
--- --- ---
SeungRi nodded to the strange cats, then looked Mei with a frown. Nodding once more, he pulled her hand off of his shoulder before motioning for Demi and Dhiren to follow. Quickly, he made his way back towards the facility, breaking into a sprint so he could get to the fence as soon as possible.
Seeing the bodies of the dogs, he cringed at the scent of blood and ducked under the fence, pulling it up further for the other three cats. They needed to get moving...he could hear faint screams for help, and was unsure of who or what it was.
--- --- ---
The dog growled at the human as he always did, watching as he wandered away to try and calm the rest of the dogs.
"You've just dug yourself a grave, cat," he muttered, raising his voice so Ishtar could hear him. Looking back down to the cat, he cocked his head curiously. "Friends? There are more cats?" They were all damn suicidal, "Why the hell are you here?"
Pausing when he was questioned once more, the dog frowned, and the dogs continued to bark as the humans left the hallway and closed the door behind them. "I know them. But I'll only show you if you let me out of here."

Demi lifted her ears as the raucous chorus of dogs barking arose from somewhere a short distance off. As she listened, the bobtail could also faintly make out an undertone of caterwauling. Bumping her head against Dhiren's shoulder, she streaked off after the pair of cats. 'I sure hope he can run well...' She thought to herself, casting one last serious glance at the Somali before focusing her sights solely on the tom leading them, and then on the bloody compound that came into sight and the large, lifeless beasts littering it. Training with Mir had kept her body lithe and strong, and so she had no problem keeping up with these cats or sliding under the fence held up for her.
Dhiren on the other hand, was a different story. He had done his fair share of running, but having no real training of any kind, the tom cat winded easily, and his chest was heaving as he approached the fence-line. He managed to keep up, somehow, and when his eyes searched the battleground, he pinned his ears back in anger and disgust. What exactly was going on here?
Both cats were able to detect the scents of the group that had passed through here, it mingled with the nearly overpowering scents of dogs, blood, and alcohol. It was a strange mix, the sterile scents of an immaculate clinic mixing with those of blood, death, fear, and adrenaline. Even Dhiren could make out the wailing calls of several cats by now, and the barking dogs from the nearby kennel had his fur standing on end. Dogs were nearly as bad as humans. The tom kept himself alert, feeling nervous adrenaline begin to run rampant in his veins.
Demi again cast him a worried glance; maybe it had been a bad idea to drag him along. They hadn't even done anything yet, and he already looked so jumpy. He was completely unguarded... The girl's ears fell back in embarrassment for the older male, and she slunk closer to the cats they had arrived with. "Don't fall behind, okay?" She hissed back to the orange tom, as if addressing a child, "And don't do anything stupid." She was the one who decided to drag this guy along, and that made him her responsibility here. Dhiren's ears fell to the sides and he glared slightly at the younger female, but didn't argue. He could clearly see that she was worlds calmer than he, so instead, the Somali made a more conscious effort to control himself.

Quickly moving to mimic Tempo, JiYong began beating and smashing the lock of SunBae's cage against the metal. Letting out a squeak of triumph as it broke, he swung the door open and reached inside to pluck SunBae up by his scruff. "It's Daddy baby you're alright," the blonde whispered against his ear, moving down the cages to where Tempo had seen YunHee.
Tucking SunBae against his shoulder, he quickly started to work on Yunnie's lock, hissing at it angrily. MiSun's ears immediately flattened again as she saw shadows pass over the front of her cage. Eyes going wide and another mewl working from her throat, she tried to shrink against the corner of the cage, trembling so bad her nametag and ID bracelet jingled against the floor.
They had taken her claws away, and now she was being attacked, and she was going to die wasn't she?
But then the figure shifted, the light catching his face, and immediately MiSun started to cry as she ran forward and all but jumped into her Papa's arm, crying and mewling needily as she clung to his shirt as tight as she could without claws. They had really come, they had really come to save them. When he was pulled from his cage, HyunSoon immediately wrapped his limbs around any part of Tempo he could and clung tight enough he could hear his own bones shifting and creaking. "Papa," he whimpered, squeezing his eyes shut, ignoring the pulls at his fur and ears and collar in the hopes of being released. Would they save everyone? That would be hard, especially with all the humans, and the dogs...HyunSoon had seen the dogs, had seen what happened when cats managed to try and escape. Was that what was going to happen to them?
"Papa wait!" he cried out, trying to grab at the cat's bushy tail as his eyes burned in fright. "Papa!" He had to warn him, had to warn him about the humans and the dogs and the needles and injections and bad bad bad. "Papa!" Clinging tightly to SeungMoon's bushy tail, HyunSoon trembled as he looked up, watching his dads move along the cages, looking at the other, strange cats pleadingly. Had to tell them, had to warn them.

YunHee had always been a quiet and timid cat, right from the beginning. Loud noises spooked her. She shied away from strangers. The kitten tended to gravitate towards tranquil familiarity rather than exciting unknown. When strange humans cloaked in white had trespassed on the territory and took Yun and her siblings, she was terrified. Who were they? Where were they taking her? Where were mommy and her daddies?
The place they had taken her to matched the human’s coat: white. Everything was new and different and driving her out of her mind. Yun wanted to scream, to claw, to cry, to tune everything out. She wanted to pretend this was a dream, but it wasn’t. Everyday humans would take her out of her cage and barrage her with shots and other tests. They were painful and she always yelped, but the humans were unappreciative of that. Each time there was testing she was sore, and not just because of the tests itself. It was breaking her mind and she had to create a mechanism to keep herself somewhat sane.
Resting in her cage, Yun’s tail slowly swished back and forth, slithering across the ground like a snake. Then her nose picked up familiar scents and her ears perked, hearing their voices. She jumped to her feet when she finally saw them.
“Oh! Oh! Daddies! Is that you? I’m sooo glad you’re here!” Yunie chirped, excitedly bouncing on her front paws.

HeeChul did everything he could to help JiYong with the cage that held YunHee. "Quiet down." He hissed a little at the girl. He wasn't trying to be mean, but he certiantly didn't want to get caught now that they were so far ahead. The redhead plucked YunHee up, glancing to Tempo. He was trying to count how many little bundles were squirming around but it was difficult.
He held YunHee close to his chest, not wanting the other to get away and risk losing sight of her. It was better to keep her too close then to let a human scoop her up. Oh, no. There would be bloodshed of the humankind if they tried to seperate him from something he was trying to protect.
"Is that all of them?" He asked, his ears turning and twisting to try to catch any sound that didn't orginate from him. The last thing he wanted was some sort of surprise.
They had to get out of there before more trouble happend. He wasn't going to let himself get caught and tortured like the poor kittens were. He was much too good for that.
And he needed to find SiWon.
Not that he wanted to admit it.

[Summary:
The cats were able to rescue the kittens, but at the expense of Alice getting wounded when a human attempted to catch her. Tempo was able to get the human off of her, but she is now internally wounded in one way or another due to the mishap.
All other cats seem to have gotten out safe and sound, JiYong, Tempo and Leila's children have suffered injuries from experimentation and because of this many have lost their sight, hearing, and possibly other problems to pop up in the near future.
Tempo is grateful to everyone who helped him, and everyone who did is more than welcome to the Ruins whenever they like.
The Facility is still up and running, now even more convinced that these cats are more intelligent than they allow humans to observe. Testing will continue soon.]
