In the room, there was commotion, but Esen was quieter than normal. Allie had believed that all the girls were involved behind this test of bravery and cowardice.
If bravery and cowardice were minerals, that might have been true, but it was far from, her brow furrowing at the comment.

There was a click close to her face, and she turned to see that Elle aimed it at her and failed. Esen had pretty much gotten sick of this whole entire game.

"Guys, we need to end this," she said in an impatient tone, taking the gun from Elle. She then stepped back from the other three, and shut her eyes, swinging the gun back and forth to the left and the right...

"Eeny-meeny-miney-mo, catch a tiger by the toe, if he hollers let him go, eeny-meeny-miney-mo..."

The last 'mo' had her sights aimed at Elle, whom she tried to shoot...

Enough. Enough. "Enough already!"

Tara screamed, her mind fractured from the pressure. The constant clicking. The accusations flying. Nothing happening. She stood and grabbed the gun away from Esen, waving it around wildly. "Is this what we're down to? Choosing by hair color? Eenie meenie minie moe? What kind of scientists are we?"

There was a logical explanation to everything. Granted, Tara's logic was generally skewed, but it was still logic. And right now it told her that someone in the room was causing all of this. It wasn't an experiment at all. It was some kind of sadistic joke, for the one who caused it to see everyone break down and keep breaking. The longer they went, the less would be left of whoever survived. Somebody had to end it. They had to take out the mole.

"You came here," Tara screamed, "and started all of this! But I'm going to end it!" Using both hands, she aimed the gun at Allie. Normally, she was not one for prayer, but she had one now: Please, let me be doing the right thing!

Allie frowned, this was not right. She was being blamed for this absurdity...and she wasn't even the one who suggested a test. She walked over and snatched the gun from Tara, making like she might pistol whip the girl with it. "You complete moron! You suggested a test...but you didn't start this dance, did you?"

She whirled on Elle, he teal eyes wide with fear. "It's you, isn't it? You came in and everything hit the fan. You did this. You could have easily come in hear and placed this gun. Got your friend about to be the voice...or rigged up something, yeah? You spun the chamber...you're behind it."

The girl may have very well reached that breaking point now. There was no turning back. She's been shot at twice now...by the same person. She tried to shoot at the two she through were responsible. But, the thing was...someone had to die, didn't they? It sure bloody damn well wouldn't be her if she could help it. No more trying to shoot herself instead of these girls. Nope. She was gonna take action...time to be Moriarty, instead of Holmes.

She aimed the gun at Elle, using both hands, and pulled the trigger. "Every action has to have a reaction..."

Elle is shot dead-on full in the chest. She falls back against the narrow floor between the sinks and the first bench.

There is a lot of blood. But that's not what's interesting -- what is interesting is the fact that her body immediately starts to change; her legs elongate, as do her arms. She shifts. The formerly humanoid skeleton puffs itself out against the skin -- what begins to shift, skin molten, pressed against the skull, the clothes bursting open to reveal something no longer human whatsoever. It's a shambling, flesh-lumpen monster like a tumour, some of the skin shiny and new as though chafed or burned, the mouth ringed around with teeth. The wound at the chest is now a little pinprick, no blood spurting out.

Elle's body and mind are no longer her own, and are controlled by outside forces.

Allie, Tara and Esen are in the Science Lab, facing a monstrous Elle.

You have one attempt each to destroy the monster using resources around you. If the attempt fails, you are killed by the youma.

Go to it.

Tara was wrong. 100% Grade A wrong. The new girl wasn't the alien at all. The dead girl was.

"I..." Tara coughed, wiping at her tears with the sleeve of her sweater. "I am so sorry. You saved us all. And I'm going to return the favor." She had done some awful, awful things. She had almost killed an innocent- and brilliant- girl. And not once, but twice! She was so upset, she barely even registered her inner excitement that she was right about the aliens. Now that the homicidal alien maniac was revealed, Tara knew she had to act. She had to try to save the alien from itself, and her friends from the alien.

What could she do? "What I wouldn't give for some real lithium," she said dazedly, searching around. The materials were not comforting. No alien-proof net. No titanium cage. If Tara were in her room she would at least have her tinfoil hat, but here she had nothing to capture the alien with.

Except the bucket.

Most people would have looked at the bucket and laughed. Not Tara. To her, it was the only thing that stood any chance of saving them all. Gas and chemicals couldn't hurt this thing, but the bucket would contain it. It was perfect... she hoped. "If this doesn't work... run. Do something. Let people know what happened here. They need to know that aliens are behind it all."

Darting around the benches, Tara grabbed the bucket with both hands, and with a jump that would have made her cheer coach proud, tried to upend it over the youma's head.

The youma's head was still the size of Tara's. There was no hope that the bucket would do anything other than be a momentary distraction -- but it was a momentary distraction. It backhanded Tara down the corridor and then went angrily to get the bucket off its head: distracted, not remotely injured.

Allie dropped the gun when Elle got back up, her teal eyes widening. What had she done? Resurrection wasn't supposed to be like this. You were supposed to use electrical currents... embryonic fluids...and other stuff. Not a bullet. Certainly if she'd created a monster like her secret hero, Victor Frankenstein, it shouldn't look like some demon from hell. What have I done?

She watched in horror as Tara flew past her with...a bucket? The girl tried to put the bucket on the monster's head, to no avail, and was flung away easily. However, the bucket remained.

Allie glanced toward the fallen girl, but didn't have time to check on her. The monster she'd created would be free of it's makeshift blinder soon enough. She turned and glanced about the room, then headed to the cabinet where chemicals were stored. She quickly opened the door and looked at Esen, "If this doesn't work...cleanse my mistake by fire. Monsters from resurrections are afraid of fire. Don't let the beast ravage unsuspecting innocents!"

The dark skinned girl grabbed the large glass jar containing the hydrochloric acid, then made her way closer to the monster. As she slipped closer, trying to sneak up behind the monster, she began to pull the stopper loose. Praying that Elle didn't hear her, she threw the contents at the misshapen creature. ""Man! How ignorant art thou in thy pride of wisdom!"

Allie got points for style, but not points for a hit. The acid hit the skin of what had formerly been Elle, and although it roared it did not appear that the acid had annoyed it at all, though where it had hit had smoked a little. It ripped the bucked off its head, grabbed Allie, and flung her against the wall with a wet thud.

Acid: not the solution.

Esen was becoming visually horrified, not only from what she had seen of the resurrection of Elle and its actions, but facially, you could tell she was becoming really mortified at what was going on.

She heard Tara ask them to make sure that, if the attempts failed, to run away from the place and tell them what was going on within the laboratory. Esen would have considered doing so while the bucket was on its head, but figured that, even if they escaped, the monster might have the ability to follow them. That would be beyond dangerous for the rest of the school. Besides, Tara was probably unable to move at that point when she was flung into the wall.

Allie made her attempt, also telling Esen that fire might defeat this guy. Acid was tossed at the resurrection, and the monster's response was that she - well, it seemed more like an it at this point - flung off both the bucket and Allie to another wall.

Both Tara and Allie both seemed like they'd be out of the running after attempting to hurt the monster. This made it so one person was left in an attempt to defeat the thing.

Esen was that one person.

There were three kinds of objects that were left in the room after the bucket and the acid were used.
Two things that caused fire were left behind, those were matches and Bunsen burners.
A fire extinguisher was in the corner behind her.
There was some sinks that could be used to bring up water, which were behind the monster, whose power had helped make it quite clear that there was very little time to think right now.

"If this doesn't work...cleanse my mistake by fire. Monsters from resurrections are afraid of fire..."

Well, fire seemed a plausible choice, but there was almost no way to make a large enough fire needed without ripping out the Bunsen burners' gas lines, a very risky idea which would be most likely to cause their demise along with that of the monster.
The fire extinguisher seemed useless right now, unless she could use it to make a barrier that was fire-resistant; needing to keep everyone else remaining alive was a priority to her as well, and if she only used the extinguisher, she'd be only protecting herself.
The water had also seemed useless, leaving only one option.

Esen decided to grab the match box, and ran to the first bench, closest to the sink, ready to prepare her attack. Her mind was in a race as she had took off the lid of the box, removing a match to light it. She would need the sink after doing this next move: striking it aflame, she dropped the match back into the box, shut it and threw it as far as she could toward the monster while her right hand started to go aflame.
There'd be one pretty nice burn involved, but there was not much more of a choice she could make, the green-haired girl thought as she ran to the sink, turning on a faucet with the non-afflicted hand, hoping she could douse it... if the attack even worked, of course.

The youma roared in irritation. The acid hadn't fazed it, and now the matches simply annoyed it -- and it was too late for Esen, who had made a dash over to the sink to try to soothe her partially burnt hand. It was a little gruesome for Tara, who was the only one still conscious, to watch: the youma simply ripped Esen inso two pieces, and dropped each piece unceremoniously on the ground.

All three had tried their best. No more. Tara was grabbed and flung against the wall with much more force than even Allie, which took her out of commission; and then the youma broke down the door and escaped away into the night -- well, escaped away to whereever youma went.

Leaving three girls.

Two of whom were dead from bacterial meningitis.
