Laney clapped her hands and bounced in place. "Oooh, a hypnotist act! So avant garde -- will you make people bark like a dog every time they hear a bell ring, and that sort of thing?" She handed him the clipboard and held out three or four colorful gel pens. "Don't forget to write what snacks you like for Fallon!"

Azzo picked out a maroon colored pen. As he wrote this name he paused, "Hum, maybe I can help you with this snack list. And barking like dogs are only practice runs Laney."

He tilted his as he thought, "Don't forget Fallon likes things in an orderly manner... which reminds me I need to drop her off a thing in her box." He scrolled out his name and a few treats. "Let me know when you get things signed up. I can show you how to do a list for Fallon if you'd like."

He saw Fallon standing there and he flashed her a grin.

Fallon flickered her gaze to Imogen. "If it's well organized..." she said, eyes fixed on the paper. Peanut butter -- ew. Real almond butter made by hand would take a few days, but it would be worth it. She'd only done it once before, and it would keep her occupied for a few days. Yes... she could do an almond butter tart with a mandarin orange finish. The wheels in her mind were quickly turning, mind hopping over everything else that was being said.

At the mention of a hypnotist act, Fallon cast a wary eye to Azzo. She liked to control situations, but she would not let someone control her. Shifting away from him, she leaned closer to Imogen, waiting patiently for more headway to be made in the planning of all this. Besides, it didn't hurt to hear her skill in the kitchen mentioned over and over, even if Laney was just doing it to attract more attention. Fallon knew her cooking was excellent, especially for someone her age, but it didn't hurt to hear it.

As Azzo tried to step in on her behalf, Fallon looked a little bored. "I will reorganize the list no matter how it is given to me," she said, glancing back to the list.

In order to get to the third floor, you had to go through the second floor. In order to get to the second floor, you had to go up the stairs. At the top of the stairs was a desk, a desk so in-the-way that even the tiny transfer student would have trouble getting past it. She tried pressing against the opposing wall, and managed to get past the desk with only a slight scratch.

It was a great triumph for Pierrette. With that obstacle out of her way, she smoothed down her new uniform and looked at the gathering of people. She glanced over to the (rather empty) jar and the desk lined up with flyers.

"Oh, what's this about?" she mumbled to herself as she looked them over. She moved her gaze from the desk back to the people, all sorts of people.

"Snacks? Barking dogs? Are you guys hosting some kind of a party?" Pierrette asked as she tried to nudge her way into the conversation. As a new girl, it would probably be best for her to meet as many people as possible. Would she ever get rid of the "new girl" stigma that seemed to cling to her?

Azzo's smile fell and he sighed, he'd left an order for a few odder snacks, some home made potato chips and his favorite cactus salsa. He also left an order for some brownies, Fallon's choice of the kind of course.

He sighed, "Anyways, anyone need me my door's always open as you know." He paused as he watched Pierrette he smiled and nodded softly, "Game night, and I miss am a hypnotist well, puppeteer with human as his puppets. One's willing of course." He smiled, "I thought by now everyone knew of the Great Riff-Raff. It's at least where the dog barking came from, though I do much" He gave a small bow, "Of course I don't suppose you have, because I haven't seen you before now."

Pierrette was a little taken aback at the bow, and looked at "the Great Riff-Raff" in awe.

"I'm afraid I'm a transfer student," said Pierrette. "My name is Pierrette Génoise. I'm originally from France, but I came to Meadowview High School. It was just a temporary thing until my acceptance letter came in. I'm so happy that I was able to make it here, it's simply lovely!"

She clapped her hands and did a twirl (were there sparkles? No? Okay).

"Everyone here is so talented, this really is a school for the gifted. Think maybe you could try hypnotizing me sometime, Mr. Riff-Raff? I promise you that I'd be willing!" She put her hands together and looked like she was pleading.

"I've never seen a real hypnotist before!"

Azzo smiled and nodded, "Ah, it's nice to meet you Pierrette, what's your gift if I might ask?"

He chuckled and smiled, "I would love to. And Please, it's just Riff-Raff no Mr attached." He seemed to beam as she acknowledged him as a real hypnotist.

He nodded, "Of course, I'll be in my room if anyone needs me. Feel free to drop by."

Fallon zoomed over to Pierrette like a bee to honey. "You're from France? Whereabouts?" Propping one hand up on her waist, she smiled pleasantly, happy to meet someone who might have something in common with her. Though Fallon had only lived in France for five years starting from when she was 7, the girl felt as though it was her true country of birth. The only person she ever got to speak French to now was her mother -- in letters. "Parlez-vous français?" she asked, eyes brightening. French cuisine was her favorite, and the language was the most beautiful sound to her ears. If Pierrette could share that love, Fallon would be entranced.

"Oh, I'm pretty good at crafting stuffed animals and charms," said Pierrette. "It's nothing very impressive."

Then she was taken aback by Fallon's sudden approach. Then, she smiled at the woman's eagerness.

"I speak French," she explained. "But right now I'm trying to practice my English, if you don't mind. I was born in Lyon but I've lived most of my life in Marseille..."

Pierrette's smile widened, "You have a bit of an accent yourself. Are you originally from France, too?"

Azzo seemed to think and before he got shuffled to the side, "I might see if you can craft me something for a friend later."

When Fallon zoomed over he make a small epp before managing to make it down the stairs without actually tumbling down them and retreated to his room.

"Ah, excuse me! I need to get to zhe stairs! Excuse me!" Sébastien attempted to make his way through the gathering crowd, a frown already forming on his face. Why was everyone congregating in such a manner? Nobody could get through! It was ridiculous! Someone surely should have called the hallway watcher or whatever they were called. Did they not have those at this school? Taking a deep breath – if only to avoid stomping his feet – he raised his voice even louder, hoping it would have a better effect on the crowd. "EXCUSE ME! EXCUSEZ-MOI! I need to get through! If you would please be moving!"

Wait, had someone just said something in French?

The French boy paused, tipping his head to one side as he listened again. Had he been imagining things? No, he had been certain he'd heard someone say something in his native tongue. He would have to find them! Sébastien's irritation melted away instantly as he changed directions in the crowd and made his way close to the commotion-causing desk. Why go upstairs now when there was someone here who spoke French? Moving towards the desk seemed to be easier than moving away from it, and before long he ended up next to Pierrette and Fallon. He would have passed them by had Pierrette not been talking about her place of birth. Aha! He had found his fellow French people! How excellent!

"You are from Marseille? It is beautiful, is it not? Ah, my apologies, I did not mean to interrupt." He flashed both girls a bright smile. "I could not help but notice you were speaking French. I am Sébastien. And you?"

Fallon folded her hands neatly in front of her, nodding to Pierrette. "Ah, yes. And here I was trying to practice my French," she said, shaking her head. Since Fallon hadn't been born in France, she didn't have an accent, but on certain words, there was a whisper of one, probably more of an influence from her mother than anything else. (You know, it was that kind of psuedo-accent that Madonna has, except French.) "My mother is from Avignon, but I was born in Destiny City. We moved back to France for five years when I was growing up, staying just outside of Paris with my grandmother. I only just moved back to come to school here." She wasn't a true native, but France felt like Fallon's second home. Her mother spoke of it so often; it was impossible to remain impartial.

When the other boy approached, Fallon maintained her smile, though she was a bit happier to meet another female student with a love of French culture. "I'm Fallon," she said, offering a hand in greeting. "Marseille is so beautiful in the winter. My family spent our break there once." One day, Fallon hoped to return to France. She liked Destiny City just fine, but she felt as though the rest of her heart was tied up in Europe, straddling her twin heritages of French and Judaism. In that moment, her heart thrummed at the thought of her parents. They fought so much, but still... she missed them. "What brought you two to Barren Pines?" she asked. Fallon had her own reasons for leaving France for Destiny City, but she wondered what might have motivated the others.

"Oh, hello!" Pierrette waved to Sébastien, "It is a beautiful place. Not quite as big as Lyon, but I like that." Pierrette looked between the two of them and gave another nod.

"I'm Pierrette, I came here because I wanted to broaden my horizons. I was looking at schools to transfer to, and Barren Pines, of course, looked the most promising. I wrote my request letter, and went to Meadowview in the meantime. I'm so happy that they considered my creativity a gift. I can sew little charms and plushies. I hope I can improve it a lot while I'm here, and learn how to cook!"

Pierrette did another twirl, but she was so close to the stairs that she had to grab onto the wall to stop from tumbling down. Nice one, Pierrette.

"I love to make pastries, but I'm not exceptionally good at it, yet. Not good enough for Barren Pines, anyway."

Cooking? Did the cute French girl just say she wanted to learn to cook? Fallon smiled a bit wider than usual, white teeth peeking out into view. "I am at Barren Pines for culinary arts," she said. Pierrette was new, one of the transfers, and Fallon was ready to make a move quickly before anyone else did. "I would be more than happy to show you a few things, or cook anything you would like. Pastries are not my strength, but I am well-educated in many different cuisines. We are in the same home group, yes?" Whatever might be going on with the sign-ups, Fallon pushed it from her mind. The situation in front of her was far more interesting. Sebastien seemed nice too, but Fallon's interest in him wasn't exactly the same breed as hers for Pierrette.

"Perhaps you could show me how to sew? I do some needlework, but I could use the assistance of a gifted teacher." Crossing one leg over the other, she propped one hand on her hip. It was a quiet way of satisfying another compulsion though that would not be obvious. Hm, it looked like Laney had actually done something a bit useful. Not only would Fallon be cooking for her floor (again), but she also got to meet two other Europeans, one of whom was absolutely adorable.
