Announcement - Event Over!
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Imperial City Scavenger Hunt! I hope you enjoy your prizes. Additionally, those of you who posted more than three times to the Event role-play thread have earned yourselves 1 Experience point for your IC participation. There was a lot of great writing and interaction in that thread.
A list of those eligible for the surprise Experience bonus is below. Make sure to add your EXP point to your EXP Tracker so you don't forget about it!

New Rules Regarding Spells & Mage's StaffsThe administration has recently come to some conclusions that will affect mages. Please read this entire message if you are a mage!
SPELLS
Characters may use all regular Oblivion spells of the schools they know and of the skill level they possess.
- No custom spells are permitted at this time.
Characters, regardless of their connections or rank, may not craft "custom" spells through the University.
- Characters do not have access, at creation, to DLC spells.
Spells given the the Spell Tomes Oblivion DLC are in this Guild,
but can only be acquired through role-play.
You cannot start with them available to your character unless you find a tome.
STAVES
Mages may begin with a Mage's Staff. The staff has the following requirements:
- It can only cast one spell from a single spell school. You do not have to have that spell school.
- Only spells of Novice, Apprentice and Journeyman level are allowed to be selected. DLC spells cannot be selected.
A Novice Spell Staff will have 20 charges (1 charge per use of the spell).
An Apprentice Spell Staff will have 15 charges (1 charge per use of the spell).
A Journeyman Spell Staff will have 10 charges (1 charge per use of the spell).
OTHER FACTION GEAR
Other faction gear is being worked on, and will hopefully be available soon(ish).

A guild announcement was sent out about this but I would like to mention it here for reference. Millenium Joker has stepped down from his role as captain leaving me (Jaydine) in his stead. Life outside Gaia has caused him to take a break for an indefinite amount of time. Though he may visit from time to time, we all wish him well in his endeavors!

Attention!With the impending excitement and nearing deadline of TES: Skyrim coming out in only a few days, it has been decided to add a new subforum titled, 'SKRYIM'. This subforum will be used for anything and everything related to the new game! Be it questions, suggestions, random chatter or what else have you, this is the place to go! 3nodding You will find it located towards the bottom of the subforums, right above the 'Achives' Subforum. Three days to go!!! ALSO -I would like to remind all members of our affiliation with The Elder Scrolls Library Guild. Our friend Nerevar Telvanni is the owner of that guild and it is a wonderful place to chatter with fellow Elder Scrolls fans! Hello fellow Guild Mates! - All members need to have a character thread for each of their characters and should be keeping it updated, which includes keeping track of 'experience'. The Skill Advancement Archive is where you go to spend any experience accumulated, and something NEW is that all members are now required to keep an accurate record of their exp earnings, spendings ect within their character thread. - To some of our newer members, everyone is given three weeks to create a character once you join, so make sure you get them up! - To everyone else, I realize Skyrim came out last month, but we need to focus back on the guild and continue our activity. Two new quests should be unveiled in the next couple of weeks. - To our inactive members, there are some of you who have not visited the guild in more then a few months, this kind of activity is never acceptable in any guild; in January all inactives will be cleaned out. January is to give plenty of time for you to return and join us once more, since Skyrrim came out in November and many of us are busy in December with the Holidays. We would love to roleplay with you once more, so I ask you to consider your extended absence and possible return. Thank you Everyone! Jaydine

Just wanted to let you all know about a new faction your character may now join.
This new faction is The Imperial Legion and you can take a look at all available factions here: [x] .
Remember, anyone can put together a faction and there is no limit to the number of player made factions that your character can join! Credit goes to Sadist Sedated for putting together The Imperial Legion Faction.

[Announcement from a few days ago and belated welcome]
Hello everyone!
I hope you are well! Just wanted to give everyone in the guild a heads up that at the end of this month, (JANUARY) all inactive members without an approved absence will be removed from the guild. As it stands, half of the members in Scars are inactive and have not posted in the guild in over several months. If you are currently active then you have nothing to worry about, but this message IS intended for everyone and not just those who are inactive. If you do not want to be kicked out of the guild for inactivity then please pm me so we can discuss options, OR post in the guild ooc letting us know you plan to be active (posting in the guild a minimum of once a week) and create/sign up for a quest! I and the crew are discussing implementing certain aspects of Skyrim, possibly even creating a subforum as an rp destination. This announcement is for EVERYONE in the guild, even those who have been given approved leaves of absence.

Hello Everyone!
I would like to take a moment to let you know that Scars of Oblivion now has a new Vice Captain! Thepoisonedmuffin has graciously accepted the position and any and all questions ect can be directed towards him as well as myself. I am excited for this change and hope all members will support his leadership!
