I role play 28 because that's how old I would be if I attended hogwarts with harry, but I'm 18.
I took an advanced placement english in my senior year. That means I was doing college level reading and reasoning in high school.
My teacher was the kind that really got us interested in analysis and such, so I do this sort of thing for fun. I wasn't kidding in my profile post when i said I enjoy writing essays.

We didn't study any of what I just said in english, that's stuff I pulled together on my own with a combonation of reasoning and an amazing long term memory.
I just kinda thought Alley-cat when I saw the cheshire cat, I saw the mad hatter refference in my anatomy textbook in my junior year, and The governor was a dodo brain and he was a dodo, and I have read multiple other books from that time period that show the same view on govornment.

That can be easily fixed with time and an aquired mind-set.
and "it's not that I'm so smart, It's just that I try harder"-Albert Einstein
I have dislexia, but I didn't know that till halfway through my time in public school. I thought I was just slow, so I had to try a lot harder to keep up with the class. my memory is a result of me coping with a disability instead of taking a special ed class.
The reason I used the Einstein quote is because he was medically diagnosed with Dislexia, A.D.D., and a disorder that caused his head to be swollen without the added benefit of extra memory.

If you'd like to be able to do what I just did with alice in wonderland at the flip of a coin, I would suggest reading older books such as H.G. Wells, Thomas Hardey, Shakespear, and Jules Vernes.
Even reading the bible cover to cover would do you some good. 87% of all allusions in literature officially credited with literary merit makes use of biblical allusions.

but simply looking at words on a page will not make you a genius over night.
you have to ask yourself questions like "How can I effectively sumarize this entire book in one sentance without leaving anything out?" "How does the author use imagery or wording to emphasize a shift in events?" "Did the author leave hints that I didn't pick up that predicted this happening?" "What is this author trying to tell me?" "Do I agree with what he/she is trying to say?"
These are just a few. in time, you will learn the right questions to ask.

xd I'm glad to hear that. Just remember to ask yourself the right questions whenever you take in anything.
after you get it down, you will love making connections, and you will be able to do it with ease whenever you feel like it.

I'd like to invite you all to the room of requirement.
get advice, good jokes, and a hiding place for those things you just have to get off your chest, but don't really want to share.

Woah, now I'm wondering what you'd have to say on the Harry Potter series.
I've read some books about the book, and it seems like there would be a lot to think about.

Eliza XD Woah, now I'm wondering what you'd have to say on the Harry Potter series. I've read some books about the book, and it seems like there would be a lot to think about. well, how about this little tidbit. the sorting hat only does the actual sorting half of the time. the personal choice of the students plays just as big a role, if not bigger, as their nature and behavior does.
