Center is key, find your center and jumping is only a matter of keeping your feet under you. It was advice he'd received long ago when he was first starting out. Not that it was a hard concept for him, balance had always been a special talent of his, powers notwithstanding.
When he felt as though she'd settled in enough to satisfy safety, he stuck one foot out on the ledge. Her head would clear just fine, and nothing would scrape against the frame. With luck, no one would be watching them and everything would go smoothly. He had confidence in his ability, but he didn't have confidence that someone else's ability wouldn't spy them on their way down.
He took a deep breath and closed his eyes for only a moment, centering his thoughts on the task ahead. Nothing else was in his brain but the jump. However, he couldn't miss the opportunity for one last piece of advice before he let go.
"Don't close your eyes."
And then there was the air, rushing past and through and around his hair. There was the familiar feeling in his gut as he dropped from any height. There were the stars. Shining out in the heavens like a promise.
And then there was the earth, solid and slightly yeilding as his feet hit it squarely. To ensure that the landing was extra easy for his passenger, he bent his knees and allowed his energy to disperse into the ground. The shock of the landing was considerably lessened, and all things considered, the event had been successful.
"Refreshing. Told you I didn't need any ledges. Falling. Rosie didn't utter a cry as they fell from two floors up, though she did gasp a bit when the impact came. It had all been so exciting... her hair being lifted from her shoulders, the sound of the wind rushing past her ears. But they had to move fast, seeing as they had fallen past at least one window that could end up betraying them.
Still holding on to his back, Rosie turned and locked her eyes on her window. You've got this, she told herself, though not in a pitying fashion, but with strength. There was concentration, a slight movement of her hand, and Rosie could feel the weight and buzz of energy in her grasp. There wasn't time to think about how she had just done what she did. It was like breathing, or blinking: think too much on it and you'd have to think too much to keep doing it.
Maybe it was like throwing a ball, she thought, as she took aim. Just let it go in the right direction, and maybe it would softly rattle it shut.
There was only one way to find out.
Rosie threw the invisible force at her target and held her breath. Nothing around seemed to indicate that she'd done anything right, not until her window suddenly gave a noticeable thunk as it was hit. And the, to Rosie's incredible surprise, it shut.
"Run!" she hissed, laughing quietly with her joy.
{No more scales of gray for me...}

Maybe it's just that he'd never seen powers like hers used before. When it snapped shut, he uttered a surprised squawk that was conveniently covered by her surprised command.
His body was still filled with that adrenaline from before. He'd managed to let some of it go, but the excitement of maybe actually getting away with this mission re-fueled him. He hitched her up into place again before taking off across the grounds. He was careful to keep to the shadows, lest they be seen by anyone patrolling around, and every now and then he ducked behind a tree or building to peer out through a particularly open space and make sure all was clear.
Before long, they'd reached their destination and he - surprisingly enough - was out of breath from holding back laughter.

xxxxx little x b o y s x ┊ ✿xxxxxxxx★:「 THINK 」on TRAINSxxxxxxxxI GOT VISAS in my: n a m exxx▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ xxxxxxxx • • • x all i want to do┊ is change my name ✔xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 。SamyuleBack in the saddle this week, yo! <3 Short post, but it's better than nothing, yeah?
There were still several windows lit up despite the time of night. They'd left at midnight and had spent somewhere around half an hour at the pool. With school the next day, Samyule had been sure that all of the girls would have gone to bed reasonably early. Aparently he was wrong. Glancing over his shoulder across the lawn, he could see similarly glowing lights in the windows of Oak Dorm. "Tch, sure, the one night we're trying to be stealthy and the whole damn campus feels the need to act like normal teenagers and stay awake half the night." The shadows where they were concealed them enough to allow him some time to think.
He could crawl up the wall, sure, that wouldn't be a problem, but with Rosie hanging off his shoulders they would probably create more sound than usual. Getting down had been easy, this presented a different sort of challenge. He turned to Rosie and surveyed her a moment. "How much can you lift with that power of yours?" He was thinking that while he climbed, she could levitate herself upwards. That would allow them both to be as stealthy as possible. d o n ' t x g r o w x u p ┊ ✿xxxxx★:「 EVERY 」stop I GET TOxxxxxxxxI'mCLOCKINGthat g a m exxxxxxxx▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ xxx • • • x bonafide hustler ┊ just making my name ✔xxxxxxxx。Perryxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Rosie flashed him a look that would have made most people recoil. "I don't know," she said, ridicule dripping from every syllable . Hadn't they been over this? She barely know anything about her abilities. They'd been lucky she had been able to shut the window instead of shattering it. And now, what was he asking her to do, levitate? Rosie stopped for a moment. That was what she would need to get back up. Unless Yule could make it up a vertical wall with her clinging to his back, which she wouldn't doubt he could, she'd have to lift herself to the window.
She sighed softly and looked at him again, this time with a softer light to her eyes. "I've never tried. What're you thinking of?"

Hm. That wasn't the reaction he'd been hoping for. He'd forgotten that she had been afraid of using her powers. But...wasn't she here to learn how to use them? Certainly to control them...but learning meant that she had to know her limits, and had to know exactly what she could do. After all these years, he still knew he had more to learn. Though, he didn't have to worry about blowing people up. The worst he had to deal with was over stretching his body's limits.
He sighed. "Ok, so....if we climb, I don't doubt that we'll be seen. I could probably get up there on my own quietly, but with you dangling from my back, I can't be as agile. You could do a little magic on yourself and pop up there. I mean...I can carry you, if you're...you know...scared."
Throwing out the challenge might not have been the best approach, but with respect to Mission Rosie's Powers - which he just invented, and was very proud of - he thought that it might spur her pride into action. After all, if the gangs weren't pressing in on him back in India, he wouldn't have discovered his own powers. Struggle and overcoming challenge. That's the key to the power.

-...I'm still lazy with posting styles-
The challenge was the key. All the angry thoughts in Rosie's head rose like a swarm of bees rising from their jostled nest, but instead of attacking, they hovered. That cloud of buzzing was being contained only by her own will, and Rosie was going to keep it that way.
Fine, she thought, turning her gaze on the window. If that's the way things are... then that is how they are. Her first task would be to open her window. With only her mind's eye open, Rosie pictured the latch. She saw the window frame, and every pane of glass. This was a talent she had for some time, being able to see things and remember things as if it was a personal photograph. Rosie wanted the latch to open, for the frame to swing towards them slowly and silently...
Her eyes opened, and to her astonishment, her daydream had been effective! There was the window, opening to the night air, with all its glass in place. Now, if she could do that, then maybe she could also lift herself, but that could be dangerous... what if she raised herself up off the ground, only to crash? Her powers weren't that established.
"Yule," she said, trying her best to keep a slight shaking from her voice. "What if I got into that tree and tried floating over or something? It wouldn't be that far if I got on a good branch..." It was a stupid, crazy idea, but it was all they had.

Samyule evaluated the tree. True, it was big and sturdy. He could get her up there no problem. In fact, he himself would probably find it easier to jump from the tree to the windowsill. If anyone in the room below heard a thump from his landing, they would probably ignore it, thinking Rosie had dropped something. The branches waved quietly in the night, promising some good, old-fashioned climbing. Grove was good for that, for having climbing trees in every nook of the campus. This one was so convenient it was rediculous.
Though, he also considered the benefits of forcing Rosie to stretch out a little bit. He'd seen the potential in her powers, even from the beginning, but she seemed to be more afraid of them than curious about them. That was no fun. Besides, if she could learn to hold his weight in the air, imagine all the sick tricks he could learn to do. He wouldn't need a trampoline to facilitate high-flying stunts anymore.
Still, if she failed, pushing her would only hurt his mission. She would retreat again, worried that something would go wrong, and wouldn't consider doing something like this again. Potentially, he would even lose whatever small amount of trust she had in him. After all, he had jumped out of her window earlier with her on his back.
He sighed, throwing his hands up in resignation. "Right, let's do it. I'll get you as far as that limb up there." He pointed to one stretching nearly to her window. The space between the branch and the sill was too far for her to jump, she'd still have to use her powers. He would be able to leap the distance no problem. "Once we make it, you'll do your floaty thing....or...did you want me to jump over first? I could tie....something around you, I guess, in case you fall. That way I could still catch you?"
He didn't mention that he could probably leap the distance with her, but...well...that would be counterproductive.

-I didn't know you had posted! D: Sorry! -
Rosie thought of all the ways this could go wrong. If she did have something tied around her waist, then her falling could potentially send her crashing through someone's window Indiana Jones style. And while sudden and violent accidents were normal in Grove, Rosie would prevent whatever ones she could.
"No, just... climb up, launch yourself over there, and I'll follow. No big deal," she said, giving him one last look before settling her gaze on the tree. "I just need a boost to the first limb, because of my lack of super height." Humor, she mused. Really, she was terrified. If they were caught, she might get in so much trouble that Grove would send her packing. Or maybe if not that extreme, then maybe she would be reprimanded by Annabelle Souris. Something about the mental image of Anna being upset with her made her shrink inside. After all the help she'd received from her, it seemed like a betrayal should Rosie get caught sneaking out with a boy.
Then again, Anna was how old? She had to have done it herself at least once. "So, boost?" Rosie whispered.
