Zia nodded. "Familiar, but not. What is it?" It actually wasn't sure it wanted to run into any Essentics that might be giving off as big a signature as whatever this was.

"Feels like an essence signal of some kind... You and Rhian and every single one of us gives that off, 'cept for Vin but he's suppressing it..." he muttered thoughtfully, making his way up the slope, speed decreasing as the terrain became rougher.
"It's really strong... and something's not right about it." like half of a song's drumline is missing. Only barely keeping level enough to ensure Zia's safety, he'd started to plain out vault from rock to rock, hellbent on finding where it came from.
Until he finally came to a standstill in front of a maw in the rock. A cavern, with a sizeable entrance. It ddin't look like a crevasse made my man nor machines, this was all natural... The signal seemed to come from within. At least the sun was positioned favourably, so there was some light filtering inside.
"... do we?" he asked, rather quietly. If he'd been alone, he would've entered without a second thought.

Zia peered down into the cave, wide rainbow eyes seeming to almost glow with curiosity. "Will we be able to get back up?"

Misha glanced around, down the slope again. "I suppose if we're careful... Let's not head in too deep." Damn, he was being irresponsible here, and he knew it. But come on, how often did you find a cave like this?
"You don't have to follow if you don't want to, but I want to know where that feeling's coming from. Someone might be stuck there, who knows." and with that, his mind was made up. He set Ziazan down again though. From here on he couldn't guarantee he'd be able to keep his balance perfectly.
Still feeling rather 'off' about something, all of this making him pretty nervous for some reason, he carefully made his way over the jags on the entrance line, and headed inside cautiously.
The feeling was even more concentrated here, but apart from the usual cave-sights nopthing was actually there. The sun's rays lit up deep into it, as if rolling out the red carpet for them to go check it out.

Luckily Zia'd been spending a lot of time watching the acrobats of late and drawing in some of their lithe balance and dexterity. It had been aware of it's clumsiness since the beach trip and wanted to improve that aspect. Shrugging it followed its older brother in, scared but not about to leave Misha to face whatever dangers lay within alone.

Not sure if wise move, but loyal, if anything.
"... at first sight it's like there's absolutely nothing here..." Misha almost whispered, then flopped an ear up. A second later he was plastered to the floor butt-up, listening to what was beneath them. "... all silent, but it sounds... hollow, somehow." Hmm. How strange.
I doubt either of them could've seen the next bit coming really, unless they had a serious thing with Indiana Jones plots.

Zia sensed it a split second before it happened. It barely had time to call Misha's name, diving forward to try and rescue its brother before joining his fate.

'Rumble' doesn't quite cut it here.
The ground collapsed beneath them due to the disturbance the two essentics brought, tearing open and crumbling into the depths far, far below. Misha hadn't seen it coming, but at least he'd managed to stick with Ziazan in the local cataclysm somehow.
When the earth settled, it was dark. Not a trickle of light came from up there, if up was even up. Coughing in the dust that had been whisked up by the falling debris, Misha tried to orient himself somehow, ignoring any bumps and bruises he'd sustained during the fall. He had no time to panic yet, berating himself to stop moving around so much when he knocked himself into the outcrops that littered the uncomfortably smal-sounding space they were in now.
"Ziazan!"
Frig, frig, FRIG I can't see a thing. Please be okay, oh gods...

Zia had curled into a ball during the fall, bouncing around the rocks. Hearing Misha's voice, it sat up, coughing from the dust. Ow. It was bruised and cut from the fall and was sure it had hurt itself during all that. Moving its arms and legs and then wings, it checked itself over for broken limbs, wincing at the pain in its left leg. "I think I sprained something, Misha."

Great goodness, at least it was conscious... Pawing around blindly over the rocks, Misha made his way over to Zia clumsily, finding he'd stayed in one piece himself rather well.
Or not so much, not after he bonked his head right into a rock jutting out from the ceiling rather ungently. Clonk.
"Ow... I'm coming, hang on..." That hurt. "Father Isis I didn't know this would happen." Damn, damn it all, get a hold of yourself man. Stop whimpering, of course you couldn't know.
Nearly falling over yet another obstacle, Misha eventually managed to reach Ziazan, and half-panickedly hugged him close the moment he got an idea of where what part of it was. No hugging upside-down, thank you. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry..." Just give me a moment here, I'll fix this, I will, I swear. With all his willpower he was trying to control himself, despite the fact his bunny-heart was hammering away at a rather breakneck pace, and there was apparently some blood beginning to trickle into his face. Aw crud, seriously.
"Just stay calm, I can... I can fix this." No matter how shaken I sound, please just take my word for it...

Zia grabbed hold of Misha's floppy ear gently, the first body part that came in reach of its grasp. "It's okay, brother. Calm down so you can think." It looked up at where they'd fallen from, wishing it could fly again and go get help. What's that, Zia? Timmy fell down a hole? Yeah, right. Resting back against the rocks behind it, Zia let out a pouty sigh. "Are you alright, Misha?"

Heh... Misha wasn't sure wheteher to just get more agitated or be grateful for Zia's ability to remain clear-headed about all of this. "I-I know... I'm doing my best. I just... panic easily, unlike you... But I'm okay now..." Thanks, little sibling-mine. Somehow that touch really had helped him pinch through that last bit of nerves. Okay, take it easy now...
Not much to see looking up, not in this pitch black.
"Yeah, I'm alright, I guess. Nothing serious." he gave the little trickle of blood a slightly tetchy wipe. "Don't worry... I'll find us a way out of here." I promise.
A quite long silence was left after that, made deafening by the earth all around them.
"I believe I've read about this once, but... I actually do smell fresh air. It's colder over there, too." Clear indication of some sort of passage to the outside, no matter how deep they were now. "Hang on..." Giving Zia a reassuring gentle pat on its shoulder, he left it for a moment, following that current of air he'd detected. Not easy, navigating over this surface, but eventually he did find some sort of a structure that appeared to be a duct, an open space between the layers of rock.
"I think this might work." he called over, not sounding a hundred percent sure, but this was something. "Maybe I should go check it out on my own first, to see if it's safe..?" Or do you want to try following right away. Not that Misha'd like taking that risk now. he was no spelunker but something told him creeping into narrow cracks beneath tonnes of rock was a very unsafe thing to do without proper planning.
Remind me, how was that any more dangerous than entering a wide-open cave on the surface? Oh well, a lot of people make that mistake.

"I'll come with you. My abilities might come in handy," Zia said, crawling towards Misha's voice and having a slightly easier time picking its way across the rubble. It was doing its best to ignore the twinge of pain in its ankle, too, bravely soldiering on after its sibling.

"Valid point... but please, don't take any risks alright... Leave that to me." On one hand he was quite relieved Zia's remain right there with him, the other half of his mind was righteously protesting. He'd asked for its opinion, though, so no getting back on that.
"Does it hurt much?" he asked quietly, starting to feel his way through the narrow opening. Oh boy, this'd be a blast wouldn't it... "Don't hesitate to ask for help, alright." as long as we're clear on that.
For now, the passage seemed to be wide enough to pass on all fours, if you weren't too pudgy. Good for them neither of them was particularly burdened with great size, Zia even had a clear advantage here.

Pulling its wings in close, Zia followed behind Misha, letting its ability ebb out around it like invisible feelers. "It doesn't hurt that much." Clearly a lie, but Zia hoped Misha would let it be and concentrate more on finding a way out of this mess.
