The refusal didn't sooth Jin Tian in the least. "Wait." He pleaded, digging into the sleeve of his robe. He pulled out a ruby the size of his thumb, an honest to god ruby. The stone glittered in the yellow light of the streetlights, its red depths clear and unblemished
"Here." The male held out his hand, urging Lind to take the glittering jewel. "This is a formal apology because, as you say, we probably will not be meeting again. Please take it." He seemed very vexed about the entire ordeal and would only be pleased if Lind accepted the apology gift.

"Well, I meant him, wouldn't mind meeting you again, but..." Because hey, Tian was actually nice. Sometimes proved to be hard to find a nice person.
Also apparently was carrying around a freaking jewelry store in his shirt. Hoooooly s**t. Lind's jaw dropped open slightly when he saw the absolutely gigantic jewel he happened to be holding out as an apology. For something he didn't do. "I...but...that's..."
Please pardon him, Tian, he is a bit flabbergasted at the moment.

Jin Tian blinked his doe-ish eyes serenely, not withdrawing his hand from Lind despite the others sudden...confusion. He didn't smile, but he did look amused at the reaction he had caused. It was strange, because the jewel was nothing to him, despite its rarity.
"Will not you take it?" The Herald pressed. "I would feel...much better if you would. Please." And that was the truth.

Well, you see Jin Tian, people don't go around giving people gigantic effing jewels as a form of apology much these days. Generally just settle for their word that the apology was accepted. But uh...
Sure, why not. His hand hesitantly reached out to take the proffered ruby, examining it for a moment before depositing it into his pocket with a slight shaking of his head. Crazy, crazy, crazy. Also, oddly enough, where his keys were. Go figure.
"Can I at least offer you a ride home or something?" he asked hesitantly. Oh yay, some manners did manage to stick after all!

Jin Tian looked immensely pleased when Lind accepted the jewel. Now, all was right in the world once again. He didn't seem to care that he had just freaked out another person.
He took a moment to think over the offer of a ride home. Tian glanced over his shoulder at the alleyway where he was sure Forney would come running out of soon enough. The thought of butting heads with the man a second time churned Tian's stomach.
"Yes, please." He finally said, a little too eagerly. "If it is not too much trouble I mean." He tacked on, looking at Lind and then the car.

Oh, that would not be very pleasant at all. And would probably turn out even worse than the previous meeting. Not a good thing at all.
"Wouldn't have offered if it was," he said as he headed over to his car. Well. It was more like a truck, and it was quite honestly really ugly. It was a rather offputting shade of rusty orange, and seemed as if it had seen it's fair share of accidents. "It's...kinda horrifying, but it's been fixed up and runs perfectly fine," he said by way of explanation as he unlocked the door.

"Oh, it is just handsome." Jin Tian replied offhandedly as he moved to the passenger door. He opened it with a creak, not seeming put of at all. Other than having to slouch because of his antlers, he slid into the seat rather smoothly.
"Honestly though," he admitted, "this is only my second time in a vehicle." The first one had been Basil's limousine and he'd only tried sitting in the back. The car didn't actually go anywhere. Tian had seen moving cars before and was rather excited at the prospect being in one that moved.

His comment was met with a snort, though he didn't say anything about it, as he would probably defend it if he said otherwise.
Let's just say it has character.
The apron was wedged onto the dashboard as he put the key in the ignition and started the car, the engine starting with a wheeze. "Really?" Which was a vaguely foreign concept to Lind, seeing as his other job was to...work on cars. "Well. Let's...hope I don't get into a crash, then."
He backed out of the parking space before heading out on the main road. "Soo, which way?"

Jin Tian's eyes went a little wide and as the car rumbled to life and was backed out, he white knuckled the dash. Crash?! "Excuse me?" He choked out. Somehow he managed to gain some of his composure and told Lind the address that Epsilon made him memorize. "Thank you again for driving me home." Was his voice a little shaky? Surely not.
Consequently, his house wasn't more then fifteen minutes from the club and in the same direction as the auto-shop. It was in a more ritzy part of town, the largest and most elegant of all the homes in the tract. The house, or rather mansion, was at the very end of the street, just stopping shy of a large oak forest.

"Ahahaha, don't worry," he reassured him, briefly thinking of where that address was. Ah yes. "Haven't been in an accident that wasn't my fault yet." Which...could be reassuring? Maybe? Besides, you could probably drop a bomb on this car and it would only get a few dents in it.
"Nnnot a problem!" It didn't take long to get there at all, as he cheated somewhat and knew a shortcut or two. And he stared at the house with the correct address as he pulled up to it.
Damn.

Jin Tian nodded to Lind's joking reassurance, but he didn't relax until the car pulled up the drive to the main house. However, he went rigid again when he saw who was standing in the shadow of the front door. Benjamin.
"Well, this is the main house." Tian said by way of introduction, still eying the lab coat clad man. He suppressed a sigh. Out of the frying pan and into the fire his mind told him. It was one piece of terror over the other and it wasn't going to be fun.
"Thanks again." The Herald added, remembering to duck as he eased himself out of the passenger seat. "Perhaps we will see each other again?" Tian asked.

Oh, so these places come with their own private scientists? Awesome. Should check into this one day. Though he noticed that Tian didn't quite have a good reaction upon seeing him, so he supposed that that theory was out. Oh well.
The main house? There were subhouses or something? Dannng. "Probably will," he said with a grin. "This place is deceptively small." Which could probe to be a bad thing in some cases. But usually not.

"Then that is good." Tian replied about the place they lived as small. "Goodbye then, Lind." He added, shutting the door and waving his new acquaintance off. He hoped that they would be able to meet soon. He quite liked the new person, and was glad to have met someone so friendly.
Taking a deep, fortifying breath, Jin Tian watched until Lind's car was about of sight before turning to face Benjamin. The man was absolutely mad and Tian hoped to meet him in one of his more lucid states. As he was ushered into the main house, he prayed the Basil, or even Epsilon was about for a visit so that he would be able to tell them about his new friend.
