[ X ][ O ]Blossom[ O ][ X ]

Blossom walked in silence, one hand holding onto the straps of her pack. Each step brought it into contact with her hip, and with the relative silence at the beginning of the journey let her hear the faint swish-swish-swish from within. So I do have some water... at least a little. Blossom kept going, boots crunching into the dirt and leaving behind heavy footprints that were rapidly covered by the strides of her comrades.

She hadn't quite paid attention to anyone talking, but as she heard someone shouting for them to wait up for him, Blossom turned and started to walk backwards. She could see a rather... um, ragged man following them, but then she noticed the cart. And the scaly green man leading it.

"Ganon!" Blossom chirped, eyes brightening. She waved energetically and watched as the ox pulling the cart came to a halt. Blossom approached, studying the hairy creature for a few moments before patting its nose. She then turned to Ganon, her smile still present. "We've certainly got a large group here... I guess it's a very good thing you arrived with the cart." Blossom turned her eyes to the unfamiliar boy in a cow suit, whacking away now at the ragged man; her response was to kneel down, pick up a large rock, and throw it right at his head, beaning him on the skull. "In... um, any case!" Blossom said, recovering her cheerful smile. "We're glad you decided to come."

Now there was an Entombed following them. Wasn't that...the same one from that restaurant a few months back, when he had the small pleasure of eating lunch with his mother and the Heroes? It must be. How many other undead creatures could talk like that? And it was clear that it knew Alihi's name, so he let it slide. Roy did notice Jaren try to attack the Entombed, and he sighed.

"Jaren, he's not an enemy!" he shouted to the idiot.

He then felt his mother edge close to him, and he noticed the wagon arrive with Ganon as the driver. Another glance to the dancer. Yes...it was probably best if she rode in the wagon. After all, she needed to build up her strength so that she wouldn't collapse before they reached the desert. They couldn't really rely much on the wagon in the desert, in case the wheels decided to get stuck in the sand. It would be a hassle dragging it through anyway. Not to mention everyone's movement (with the exception of fliers and magic users) would be impeded. He looked up at his Mother.

"It might be best for you if you rode in the wagon, just for a little while. I would feel more at ease knowing that you're resting up before we reach the desert." he said softly to the dancer.

He had plenty of strength to walk all the way to Sentria. After all, he had cake earlier (and still had the slice he took with him from the cafe. Cake was pretty much his main fuel source). He would be fine walking.

The temperature was getting colder with the time of year, and he could swear he saw saw his breath, if only faintly. He was making his way toward the bridge that allowed people to cross the river. It wasn't a big river, but it still needed a bridge. He wouldn't make it back to Eyris in time.. but maybe... he could still catch them... if what Rath said was true.

"You are.. close to Alihi, are you not? You were wounded fairly well, at the party, because you were guarding her daughter. .... ....Your wounds are healed. Alihi is setting up a party to go to Sentria and rescue her daughter. If you care for her, go. She will depart from the city gates very soon. ....You have something to protect. Make your brother proud."

He snapped out of his thoughts and focused on his path. "I will... I promise!"

After he had left the castle, he ran home as quickly as possible, to get his things ready. He got out of his fancy clothes and into his normal, more comfortable ones. He got all the things he needed. Healing items were especially an essential, for him. He traveled a lot, and knew what he needed. When we got all his items, he looked over to the corner of his room. His sword lay there. It was the wind blade that he used back in the spring. This blade had killed and wounded many people back then. Now he would use it to save somebody. Not stopping to think about it further, he strapped in on his back, and rushed out the door.

It didn't take him too long to reach the river. He looked around, but didn't see anybody at first. Was he too late, did they already cross? He looked back toward Eyris, and soon enough, saw the figures of a few people coming toward him. He had made it. "Alihi!" He called out, as the figures got closer. He could recognize a good few of them at this point. "Alihi!!" He couldn't wait for them to get up to where he was. He ran out and met her, and gently grabbed her shoulders. "Alihi...! You didn't tell me about this... D-don't you dare think you're going to help Amara without me, dang it! I'm coming, too!" He looked and saw quite a few faces. "..I know you have a somewhat large group, but... I'm not staying behind. Amara means a lot to me, too. And I will get her back for you! ..You can count of me."

~Ninian~

Ninian didn't feel so afraid of the walking corpse after she saw that Alihi seemed to know who it was.

"It might be best for you if you rode in the wagon, just for a little while. I would feel more at ease knowing that you're resting up before we reach the desert," Roy said softly.

She bit her lip, thinking. She really didn't want to be a burden, but . . . if she wore herself out now, she would be useless later. She sighed. Roy was right. And she didn't want him needlessly worrying about her when there were more important things to think about.

"Alright, Roy," she reluctantly agreed.

She forced herself not to think about the other person who had been concerned for her well-being on a long journey. How very like him Roy was.

She hurried over to the wagon before Ganon got it moving again. "Hello, Ganon," she said to the bard, settling herself in the back of the cart. "Hello, Akihi," she added, smiling at the mage she hadn't noticed until now. He was sitting in the cart, too, holding a bag in his lap.

When we get home, I know we won't be home at all...
... This place we live; it is not where we belong.

Alihi heard his voice before she felt his hands rest on her shoulders. Still, her heart skipped a beat or two, and turned around to face him, eyes widened. "A-Abel!" She made no action to remove his hands, though something on her face said that she wasn't happy, like she normally would be, to see him. "B-but... you were injured... darn it, Abel, you're the last person I want to see hurt right now!" She turned slightly, unable to force herself to look in his eyes. "... I know I can count on you, Abel. I know... but I didn't tell you about this because I didn't want to see you hurt yet again!" She shook her head slowly. "... I'd feel so guilty if you got hurt because of this. ... A-and that goes for the rest of you, too! I don't want any of you hurt!" The tactician said to the group, fully aware that the others probably heard her. She didn't have the quietest of voices, after all...

Sighing quietly, Alihi gently patted Abel's arm, speaking to him softly. "... Alright. It's too late for me to send you back, anyways..." She smiled slightly, turning around and beginning to walk again.

Akihi smiled at Ninian, one of the few familiar faces in the group. "Hello, Ninian." He looked out from the back of the cart for a few moments, observing the landscape, before turning back to Ninian. "F-forgive me for sounding rude, but... I don't see any sort of weapon on you." The mage stated. He stared at her for a few moments, finally noting her attire. It was different than most of the others, more... dressy, for a lack of a better term. "Are you a dancer?" He asked softly, a twinge of curiosity in his voice.

"Please cease your attacks, I am not the type of beast you want to attack. After all, you should save your spirit, it's a rather long expedition," he stated. His head was free of wounds, and any tiny damages would heal fast. Since he's dead, it didn't really do much to a corpse.

The wagon came before him, and he decided to approach its master. Charles stepped over and questioned, "Mister, would you be kind to let myself reside in the wagon? I'm not a speed demon such as a Gwyllgi." If only my legs weren't masses of cancerous muscles and fat, I would be able to move them with better precision...

Charice stayed more towards the middle of the pack, walking along with her pegasus behind her. She'd decided at the onset of the journey that it wouldn't be a good idea to ride--after all, they were in familiar territory, and she didn't want to tire Aph out from flying before they got to the border.
She just quietly listened to Deborah's tales of Sentria. Yes, they resonated with what she'd known growing up. There had once been a king of the desert nation, but alas, the land was very poor. Poor economy meant no jobs. When a man couldn't make a living by the hoe or the pick or anything else, he would choose to do so by the sword or the axe or the spear. Bandits came to choke the land, and the king was said to have been overrun. Nobody knew what had become of him.
They only knew that now, villages had to be constantly vigilant (and lucky) if they hoped to continue a meager existence. She'd known that at least one neighboring village way back when that had actually been sacked, burned to the ground, nothing left but sand and flame... and some pegasi that had been smart enough to escape when the sacking began. Aph was one of those pegasi--they had found their way to her village, and Charice volunteered to take care of her.
Now, it felt... a bit unfair, that her skill as a Falcoknight stemmed from the disaster of a neighboring village. It made her look quiet and sullen in the group, her eyes cast down to the road, a bit too lost in thought to appreciate such a motley band of companions--i.e., a gigantic lizard-esque man in a big wagon, an intelligent shambling corpse, and a veritable Simplicius to boot.

~Ninian~

Ninian nodded in response to Akihi's question. Before she could open her mouth, the corpse man had joined them in the wagon.

He's not a morph, just a corpse, she reminded herself. Not that it makes him any less scary. Inching away from him, she turned back to Akihi.

"Yes, I am a dancer," she said, hoping her voice wasn't shaking too badly. "As such, I have no use for a weapon. Although I--" she broke off, glancing down at her bag. "I do have a scarf that I believe can be used as a weapon, but I--I've no wish to hurt anyone. . . ."

Her eyes glazed over, a vision of something white flying through the air, columns of brown left torn in half in its wake, green shards fluttering everywhere. The river of white snaked back and forth, always centered around a pale hand.

Her hand.

She shook her head to clear it. "B-besides, I have never been trained in anything except dancing, and my mother taught me that."

The mother you don't remember.

"I-I'm sorry i-if I sound strange," she apologized. "Today has been . . . a strange day to say the least. So," she continued, changing the subject, "I noticed this before, but your name is very similar to Alihi's. If you don't mind my asking, are you her brother?"

She hoped she wasn't coming off as too terrible odd. Ever since she'd seen him, she couldn't seem to focus her thoughts. She shifted, adjusting her dress slightly as she waited for Akihi's answer.

[ X ][ O ]Blossom[ O ][ X ]

Blossom folded her arms in silence behind her neck and walked along with the others. Tramping feet and the slight creaking of the wagon wheels near her came muffled to her ears, the sound of hushed conversation (or in Abel's case, half-shouted; given his situation, though, Blossom could more than excuse the desperation in his voice) overpowering the quiet noises.

Blossom turned idly to look back at the others, her ears catching the unfamiliar man's request to ride on the cart. If I didn't know any better, I'd say he was a zombie. She hit a mental pause, her expression blank for a split second, then turned her gaze to another direction. Nah. Can't be it. Can't be.

Her eyes trailed over to the white-cloaked girl following them, her eyes focused on the ground. Blossom's expression fell to that of concern. She was familiar enough--she had been at the party before, and while they hadn't spoken, Blossom had seen her during her training sessions with members of the Watch--and the sight of her looking so forlorn worried her. Too many people were depressed lately; that had to change.

Blossom crossed the few yards between them, and her arms unfolded so as to allow one hand to alight on the woman's elbow (or at least, where Blossom thought her elbow was). "Ah... excuse me," Blossom said, putting a warm smile on her face. "Charice, isn't it?" Blossom glanced back at the pegasus following the cloaked woman, then looked back at the Falcoknight. "I'm only curious, but does your pegasus need water, or maybe something to help shade her? Um... him? Whichever one applies?" Blossom glanced back at the pegasus, as if a convenient physical marking would show whether or not the winged beast was a male or female.

I've been dreaming for so long...
... To find a meaning, to understand...

• ◄AKIHI► •

Akihi nodded slowly to Ninian, ignoring Charles to the best of his ability. Honestly, the... zombie-man-thing was creeping him out just a bit. Something about Charles was so incredibly off to Akihi that it kept him on the edge. "I-I understand..." He smiled slightly at Ninian. Though he wasn't like that, he understood how other people could be that way. He didn't get in battles often, for he was typically in areas that just didn't have as much conflict. When there was some, though, he fought without a hesitation. It was just the way he worked.

"I noticed this before, but your name is very similar to Alihi's. If you don't mind my asking, are you her brother?"

His smile faltered. "I-I don't mind you asking..." He set the pack down next to him, hugging the tome close to his chest. "... You are correct. Alihi's my twin sister..." He looked down to his legs, kicking outwards slowly out of boredom. "She's older by a few minutes..."

The secret of life...

Charice looked up, wondering who had just addressed her.

...Huh. Empty air. Fancy that.

...Wait a minute! Didn't I see somebody on the way up?

Her head moved downward until her eyes were level with Blossom's.

...Oh.

"What? Oh, I'm sorry. Err... no, she's fine," Charice replied, turning back to look at Aphrodite. The pegasus, getting the notion that she was the subject of the conversation, whinnied and snorted, then trotted over to the two women, nearly bowling her rider over with her left wing. "Oomph! ...Oh, Aph," Charice said, her eyes seeming to light up. "Ah, hahaha! I swear, it's like the moment she knows she's being talked about, she wants me out of the picture!"

Hey, she offered me food, Aph thought, unbeknownst to Charice. You fed me earlier and all, but I'm not passing this up!

"But no, she's fine," Charice replied (ensuing a loud BLAST! in Aph's thoughts a second later). "I fed and watered her before we left."

Then she turned to give Blossom an inquisitive look. "Her or him? Oh, you just tell the gender by looking, well, down below. They're just like any other horse, really. The only difference is the wings. In fact," she began rambling, "You can even breed them with normal horses, if you have no pegasus of the opposite gender. It's just that if you want the foals to be pegasi, you need the female to be a pegasus. Otherwise, the foals will just be normal horses. It's the female that makes them what they are, really. I found this out as I was raising her--sheer dumb luck, to be honest. My village had some horses of its own, and she was old enough! In between her and the other pegasi we own, my village... might have a decent-sized herd by now? I don't know how my hometown is doing..."

She finally stopped.

"Hehe, sorry. But yeah, if you don't feel like checking, this one's been a mother before. So it's a she."

I shall now demonstrate the Law of Sacae
Tribesmen fighting with all they have for the sake of one another!

~)Sue(~
More new arrivals had come since Sue decided to go forward, following Alihi without stopping towards some kind of ominous tower that was supposed to stick out like a sore thumb from the desert dunes. Ganon came with a caravan: which was a nice way to cover for their large group along with carting around extra needed supplies. Charles, the walking dead came to offer a helping hand (only to be assaulted by a fool).

To Sue's left, Charice and Blossom where conversing about the pegasus, whom was definitely female. General Roy and Ninian were to the young woman's right, with the dancer (luckily) getting inside the wagon.

Since Sue was closest to Alihi and Deborah though, the nomad thought to make conversation with those two. Talking passed the time, but she made sure to keep a cloak that she had brought from home beforehand over her nose and mouth to prevent the sands from blowing inside. "Didn't either of you notice... that the raven, if it is a raven... their flight patterns looked very familiar. Why was that? I myself don't know many laguz, and there's only one raven that comes to mind."

But that couldn't be true. Why would Vika be doing something of this nature? Wasn't she happy with FEF? Wasn't she one of those whom helped the Hostess club? The answer of who it was, if it was whom Sue suspected merely lead to more questions.

Roy watched with a somber look as his Mother entered the wagon. Yes, this was for the best. The autumn sun, while it was no longer summer, was still giving off a summer-like heat. Ice-dragons wouldn't last out here for long without shade. When the sun would go down a little, he would be okay with her walking. But for now, riding the wagon would be best. At least she wouldn't be alone: Elly, Akihi, the Entombed, and Ganon (at the front) would all be riding along. The young lord tugged at the neck of his cloak, adjusting the apparel.

He then reached into his pocket and pulled out Darko before setting the little imp on his shoulder, near the hood. Darko was looking a little sleepy (probably because he was a nocturnal creature. Then again, he did pretty well in the morning on the way to the cafe for cake). The young lord adjusted the hood so that it would give the imp some shade so he could sleep. The all-too-familiar dark shroud appeared around the imp as he dozed off, giving the creature additional darkness for slumber. So much for asking his animal companion to scout ahead.

Roy then listened in on some conversations around him. He heard earlier about Sentria, and how now it was just a smattering of villages that were learning how to defend themselves against the bandits that plagued the land. Mercenaries would do well here, though the pay wouldn't be all too well, considering the place was...well, a desert. So if there wasn't a king anymore, he could expect there to be a weak government of sorts. Probably just a figurehead to give the country some security. The young lord wouldn't be too surprised if some bandits had staked a toll of sorts at the border. It would make entry into Sentria a little more troublesome though.

By now, most of the group had already formed little groupies to talk with to make the journey more bearable. This didn't really bother him. He wasn't really in much of a social mood anyway at the moment.
