Etna? I think that she might be a plot character. You know like Vincent from FF7 or something like that. You never know until the game company let's you know.

I'd say she's a humanoid-type demon who happens to like the empusa style. Possibly because she knows they terrify('d?) Laharl.

Not all daemons have tails, and if we go by Disgae standards, the Succubi have snakes for tails while Etna's falls more into the classic western devil image by being red with a point.
Personally, I think her appearence isn't related to daemon lore at all, rather, the cliche idea from cartoons of concience and temptation.
Etna has red hair with bunches, giving her the impression of a classic set of devil horns, wings, and a pointed red tail, as well as a gothic styled outfit. This may seem like circumstancial evidence at best, but works much better when you take her twisted personality into account, and when you compare her to Flonne, who embodies many of the typical angel stereotypes, and essentially fits the profile of concience.
Hell, even if you look at the game, Etna follows behind Laharl on the left, while Flonne follows on the right, the classic placing of the concience and temptation ^^

I think Etna is a mix betiwn a sucubic and a female brawler.
I mean the hair of the brawler grown out a little more. With the tail of a sucubic, and the horns. And other few choose traits and there you have Etna!

I stand by my belief she's a reflection of the 'temptation' figure.

Thats a very deep analysis (much more than I would have thought of) Riku. However, the sucubi tails change back and forth from your standard devil to the snake thingy (its more of a dragon anyways)

Her positioning along side Flonne is just too much for coincidence.
