Efi straightened up and came over to help fold the small garments, fingers quick and deft about the task. "Thank you again for all of this," he said quietly. "I am in your debt."

"Friends help friends," the water demon murmured, smiling up at Efios. "This isn't a debt to be paid, but my gift to you. If you're determined to see it as a debt, then make it up to me by bringing your little one over when he or she arrives so Etain has someone new to play with," he added with a warm smile.

"I can do that. I'm glad to have met you both," Efi said, and bowed deeply. "I picked the right garden to wander into by accident," he added with a smile.

Shiro smiled in return, nodding to Efios. "I think you did, too, because we're both glad to have gained a friend."
Etain returned to Efios' side and held up a big stuffed butterfly. "For your baby," she said with all seriousness, her eyes wide.
"I think she picked this habit up from Annora," Shiro mused with a grin, one hand on his hip. "Annora used to drop toys in Etain's lap all the time."

Efi gave the toy a hug and laid it on top of the onesies in the bag. "Thank you," he said, and nodded, "and I'm sure he or she will thank you too, when the baby is old enough to say so." He chuckled.
"A generous type of habit," he said to Shiro, amused.

Shiromaru nodded, and lifted Etain up into his arms. "It is, and I can only hope it will last as they get a bit older." With his free hand, he reached up and picked out a few good bottles and set them into the bag as well. "That should set you up and have you almost ready for when the baby arrives," he said when he was done, and smiled warmly up at Efios. "I don't have any spare blankets or cribs, that's probably the last thing you'll need."

"I can find those easily enough, I think," Efi said, and picked up the bag. "There are shops near where I live - I have an apartment in the shop district in Barton." He grinned at Etain. "Would you like to go and collect on that piggy-back ride now?"

"Yes!" Etain reached out towards Efios, wanting the yuniko to carry her rather than her papa right now. Piggy-back ride!
Shaking his head in amusement, Shiro quietly held Etain out towards Efios. "I can carry the bag," he offered softly.

"Thank you," Efi nodded, and handed the bag over before taking Etain and swinging her up high towards the ceiling. "Wheeee!" he grinned, then shook his mane to one side and lifted her up so that she could settle onto his shoulders. "Horsie ride from the horsie."

Slipping the bag over his shoulder, Shiromaru led the way out of the room and down the hall.
Etain squealed with delight when she was swung up high, her wings working to try and lift her higher before she finally settled on Efi's shoulders. There was no fear of heights in this child! "Horsie," she chirruped, and snuggled into part of his mane. "Go fast?"

Efi followed sedately, arms up and hands laced together behind Etain's back to keep her steady. "In a moment," he laughed. "When we're outside. Da always told me no running in the house, and I still don't!"

"Okay, I'll wait," Etain said patiently, perfectly content where she was. Shiro, ahead of them, opened the front door to let them out into the gardens, a fond look on his face as he looked back at the pair.

Efi winked cheerfully at Shiro as he emerged into the gardens. He lifted his hands to take Etain's smaller hands in his. "Slide down and hang onto my shoulders!" he said to her. "That way I can gallop about and be a good horsie for you."

With a bit of twisting about, Etain managed to slide down Efios' back a bit, then held onto his shoulders and plunked her chin down near his neck. "Ready!"

Efi linked his hands behind himself to help support the little girl, then took off at a quick gallop, doing a very convincing imitation of a neigh. He did a long loop around the nearest bush and tossed his long mane so that the brilliant red hair tickled Etain and flew around her.
